Abstract

The Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila—P5) aims to promote the development of the Pancasila student profile through project-based learning. In today's globalization and technological advancement era, values and character education are needed to strike a balance between technological progress and human development. SMP Negeri 174 Jakarta implemented these activities for the year-8 high-school students. The community service activities began in early April 2024 and utilized a qualitative research method. This included an Internet-based literature review and discussions with resource persons. Community service activities began in early April 2024 and finished on 13 May 2024 with all completed activity. Another similar sharing session about teenagers’ well-being and mental health development must also be offered to students’ parents and teachers.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now commonly used in many sectors, including education. Utilizing AI technology to support learning does not mean replacing the role of educators. The critical role of educators is to teach, educate, and train students to build their skills, knowledge, and morals, which are irreplaceable by AI. SMP Negeri 174 Jakarta is a public junior high school in East Jakarta and would like to receive guidance to upgrade teachers’ competencies in AI. The event lasted half a day and about 39 teachers participated in this agenda. The overall community service activities began in early April 2024 and ended on May 15, 2024, and all main activities were completed 100%. The session was successfully delivered in around two hours with days of preparations. Future recommendation is to include similar topics related to academic activities and technology.

Abstract

Motivation is a crucial factor in education as it stimulates, guides, and channels purposeful behavior driven by biological, emotional, social, and cognitive factors. Motivation can be a key element of a student’s achievement. This study explores the role of motivation in academic achievement and describes a community service program undertaken at SMP Negeri 174 Jakarta.. This initiative aims to motivate students before their final exams by sharing success stories of effective study habits and providing tips for exam preparation. The community service activities commenced in late March 2024 and concluded in May 2024. Over 200 participants, consisting of year-9 students, took part in the event, which began in the morning and lasted for two hours, ending before noon. The majority of the resource persons and the organizers were actively involved in the event preparations. The success of this initiative suggests the potential of similar programs to motivate students in the future.

Abstract

The contributions of campus as a technology hub to the society need to be increased. One of the way is to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) or Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) to improve their process, capability and product. In this study, a team consisted of students and lecturers from Faculty of Engineering and Technology Sampoerna University led a community service project on one of MSMEs in Jakarta area. Over eight months, the team introduced innovative manufacturing techniques like 3D printing and mold-making to one of the MSMEs called Jawara Peci. Jawara Peci sells traditional souvenir, Ondel-ondel miniature. The purpose of this activity is to help Jawara Peci to have a unique ondel-ondel miniature product with the use of technology in order to preserve the cultural heritage of Betawi. The activity includes, socialization and introduction of the program, 3D design and product development, prototyping and delivery. The activity was successfully producing a new method to produce an Ondel-ondel souvenir using 3D printing and casting. The proposed method is expected can be implemented by the Jawara Peci to improve the uniqueness of the Ondel-ondel souvenir so that can contribute to economic growth and cultural awareness. This activity highlighted the potential of merging technology and heritage in improving inclusive economic development.

Abstract

The community service carried out by the SERASA team from Sampoerna University at PAUD Jala Benaya, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on June 8, 2023, aims to improve teacher competence and introduce the use of visual media and artificial intelligence-based technology in early childhood learning. With the theme “Visual Storytelling Learning Methods for Early Childhood”, this activity consisted of training and workshops attended by PAUD teachers and students of PAUD Jala Benaya. In this workshop, teachers were given knowledge about their role in creating a conducive learning environment, the importance of structured learning planning, as well as an understanding of visual learning styles and educational technology. Preschool students were also given the opportunity to learn using AI technology through several interactive websites. This activity showed that ECD teachers gained a deeper understanding of the use of visual media and technology in learning, as well as more confidence in implementing technology in the classroom. Preschool students responded positively to the interactive learning methods provided, which increased their interest in learning.

Abstract

The cultivation of Kelulut (Trigona) honey bees has been initiated by the Peduli Pesisir Farmers Group (Mitra) in a mangrove-based agro-tourism area in Beras Basah Village, Pangkalan Susu District, North Sumatra. However, due to limitations in mastering the science and technology (IPTEKS) of kelulut cultivation and the number of stock owned by partners as well as several other aspects, partners have not been able to meet consumer demand, based on Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and community service team discussions with several group members. from informal farming and document searches, it can be seen that the partner has the right to manage an area of 4 hectares and it has great potential to increase the honey production of kelulut bees, because in this area there are various plants that produce flowers as a source of nectar/main food for kelulut bees. Based on some of the information above, a problem analysis was carried out by the community service team involving partners, so that an agreement was born to carry out several activities that could support the smooth transfer of science and technology, such as; counseling, discussions, training and the addition of a number of stup (kelulut bees + media).

Abstract

UAVs, known as drones, are operated with no onboard pilot. In the last decade, there has been a rapidly growing improvement in the drones pertinency in multiple areas. The use of UAVs has increased in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions. There is a growing need to integrate UAV training into STEM education. Several studies have been conducted on UAVs, and some opportunities could be gained from this area. These opportunities were good to share and discuss with the teachers, and later, teachers could share this with the students. SMP Negeri 174 Jakarta is a community service school partner. A seminar about this UAV, its technology, science, and opportunities was held in this school to disseminate knowledge on how the UAV has become important to pay attention to in the near future.

Abstract

The implementation of the Japanese 5S methodology in a small motorcycle workshop in Bogor, Indonesia, has demonstrated significant improvements in workplace organization, operational efficiency, and safety. As Indonesia continues to lead motorcycle sales in the ASEAN region, the need for well-structured and efficient workshops becomes increasingly critical. However, many small businesses still struggle with inadequate organization and risk management. By applying the 5S principles—Sort (Sisih), Set in Order (Susun), Shine (Sapu), Standardize (Standar), and Sustain (Sinambung)—the workshop experienced reduced disorder, improved workflow, enhanced cleanliness, and well-defined procedures. These changes positively impacted productivity, workplace safety, and customer perception. Initial resistance to change was mitigated through comprehensive training and staff engagement, ensuring long-term adoption. This initiative aligns with Sampoerna University’s commitment to community development and serves as a scalable model for small businesses. With adequate government and NGO support, the 5S framework can enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and working conditions in Indonesia’s expanding motorcycle industry.
