Abstract

This study discusses implementing management and legal education approaches in building students' character and communication skills at SMPN 4 Muara. The main goal is to improve the quality of learning that focuses not only on academic achievement but also on developing students' positive character and communication skills. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with field studies through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The study results show that character-based management, such as discipline, responsibility, and cooperation, can result in positive student behavior. In addition, integrating legal knowledge into the curriculum also increases students' legal awareness, helping them understand their rights and obligations and the importance of ethics in daily communication. This approach effectively reduces cases of rule violations in schools and improves students' ability to communicate effectively and ethically. Thus, this study proposes a management model and legal knowledge that can be applied as an integral part of character education in junior high school to form a legally insightful generation with good communication skills.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) in strengthening the governance of tourist villages in Toyomarto Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency. Tourist villages are one of the strategies for developing community-based tourism that has the potential to improve the village economy. BUM Desa, as a village economic institution, is expected to be a driving force in the management and development of village tourism potential. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to analyze the role of BUM Desa in the aspects of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising the governance of tourist villages. The results of the study indicate that BUM Desa has a significant contribution in strengthening community capacity, developing tourism infrastructure, and increasing village original income through the management of tourist villages. However, there are several challenges that need to be overcome, such as limited human resources and coordination between stakeholders. This study provides recommendations for optimizing the role of BUM Desa in strengthening the governance of tourist villages in Toyomarto Village.

Abstract

Konservasi penyu merupakan kegiatan perlindungan dan pelestarian penyu demi mempertahankan keberadaan dan keanekaragaman spesies penyu. Terdapat kelompok konservasi penyu di Pantai Lampuuk, Aceh Besar yang perduli terhadap kelestarian penyu dan berperan sebagai mitra pada pengabdian ini. Beberapa permasalahan yang muncul pada kawasan konservasi penyu adalah rendahnya daya tetas telur penyu dikarenakan belum adanya bak penetasan penyu yang permanen dan kurangnya pengunjung/wisatawan yang datang ke kawasan konservasi ini. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini perlu dibangun bak penetasan telur penyu dengan penambahan material Fly Ash (FA) yang dapat memperkokoh kontruksi bak pada kawasan substrat yang bersalinitas, serta meningkatkan persepsi masyarakat tentang pentingnya edukasi keberadaan penyu. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membekali mitra pengabdian tentang pembangunan bak penetasan telur penyu yang ramah lingkungan dan kokoh, serta menganalisis persepsi masyarakat tentang upaya menjadikan kawasan konservasi penyu sebagai kawasan wisata pendidikan (edutourism). Metode pada pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan, sosialisasi, dan wawancara masyarakat dan pengunjung yang datang ke kawasan konservasi penyu. Jenis penyu yang umum ditemukan melakukan pendaratan dan bertelur di kawasan Pantai Lampuuk Kabupaten Aceh Besar yaitu penyu lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea), dan penyu belimbing (Dermochelys coriacea). Kedua penyu mendarat pada kawasan konservasi penyu pada awal bulan Oktober 2024, dan telurnya dipindahkan ke bak penetasan telur untuk mendapatkan penanganan lebih lanjut, telur penyu ini diperkirakan akan menetas dalam waktu 45 sampai 60 hari. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan masyarakat dan pengunjung, kawasan ini memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan kawasan wisata pendidikan (edutourism) jika didukung dengan fasilitas yang ada, salah satunya adalah bangunan bak penetasan telur penyu.

Abstract

Policy changes between Law No. 13 of 2003 and the Work Creation Law have impacted the difficulty faced by people with disabilities in obtaining jobs, exacerbated by the lack of public awareness about this group. This study aims to provide further insights into the laws governing people with disabilities and clarify the categories of individuals included within this group. The methodology employed is a literature review, defined as a summary derived from reading sources relevant to the research topic. A notable change is the shift in terminology from "persons with disabilities" to "persons with disabilities," which is considered more polite and respectful. However, the laws and government regulations lack clear provisions on quotas for employing people with disabilities. Establishing such quotas is essential to enhance welfare and ensure equal opportunities for all members of society. People with disabilities are categorized into physical, sensory, intellectual, and mental groups.

Abstract

Eating disorders is a disorders related to abnormal and persistent eating behaviours that affect eating consumption patterns. There are various eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating. It can be caused by various factors such as genetic, psychological, socio-cultural, environmental. Students are one of the people who often experience eating disorders because of the many pressures that disrupt eating patterns such as academic stress or body image. The purpose of this activity is to provide information and understanding related to eating disorders in order to increase knowledge in Trunojoyo Madura University students. The method used is by counselling students by giving pre-test questions for 10 minutes, then continued with a 20-minute material explanation, a 10-minute discussion session, and the last post-test for 10 minutes. The results of the pre-test were 39.63% and the post-test was 65.13%, these results showed that there were differences after and after the provision of material. Community service activities regarding eating disorder material counselling can provide benefits and influence for Trunojoyo Madura University students to increase knowledge.

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity is to provide education and learning to the students of SMAN 5 Samarinda, in order to enhance their writing skills and character education using the Think-Pair-Share method. This activity is particularly beneficial in developing potential and interest in literary works. The implementation of this PKM involves three stages: preparation, activity execution, and report preparation. During the execution phase, participants will be provided with materials on poetry, the building blocks or structure of poetry, and poetry writing techniques. The Think-Pair-Share method will then be applied as follows: Think; participants discuss the task in groups, Pair; participants work in groups to complete the task, and Share; participants present their group's writing results and listen to the opinions of other groups. Finally, participants will practice independently in groups under guidance to produce literary works, specifically poetry.

Abstract

Challenges in globalization highlight the need to integrate education, local wisdom, and environmental sustainability. Local wisdom-based education bridges science and culture, fostering critical thinking skills vital for global challenges. This research examines how teaching materials based on the local wisdom of the Kajang Ammatoa indigenous community can play a role in developing students' critical thinking skills. Literature review and field observation were used to identify potential local wisdom values of Kajang Ammatoa, such as Pasang ri Kajang, traditional rituals, and plant conservation, which were integrated into teaching modules, LKPD, and Digital Storytelling. The results of the analysis show that local wisdom-based teaching materials can be a bridge between science and culture, enriching students' scientific understanding through cultural contexts relevant to everyday life. In addition, this learning enhances students' critical thinking skills through multidisciplinary analysis that includes natural science and local cultural practices. This research also found that the integration of local wisdom in science learning can directly support in facing the challenges of the times in the era of globalization, such as quality education, handling climate change, and environmental preservation. Therefore, local wisdom-based teaching materials should be considered as an effective strategy in achieving a more holistic and sustainable education.

Abstract

In the era of digital information, business, expecially MSME, are embracing digital marketing as a strategic tool to capture consumer attention. attention. This approach offers numerous advantages, including increased reach, speed, precision, and cost-effectiveness. Delivery on digital media, such as social media, is also a form of promotion, product introduction, and communication between buyers and consumers. The socialization service activities for students at Trunojoyo University Madura aims to provide insight, understanding of how to market products through creative and interesting video content so that consumers are interested in buying. The target of the socialization activities carried out by group 5 is Trunojoyo Madura University students. The method of implementing the service activities of group 5 Denaya Project MBKM Entrepreneurship was the program socialization by providing direct understanding to several students who attended the activity. The implementation of the activity was divided into several activities, including: (1) the planning stage, (2) implementation, and (3) evaluation. From the activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the approach and direct communication to the students as the audience are enthusiastic in participating in this socialization until completion. This service activity is able to increase students' understanding of digital marketing and creative video making techniques, which aims to increase audience motivation to participate in the socialization event

Abstract

Clean and healthy living behavior is a behavior that must be carried out based on the awareness of the individual himself, this awareness arises if he has knowledge about what he will do. The purpose of this community service is to provide health education to school-age children about clean and healthy living behavior, in order to create a healthy caring generation at SD Negeri 1 Laangke. The target of this community service is students. Community service is carried out for 1 day. The methods used are pretest, education, and posttest. The Pre Test is carried out to determine the initial knowledge of students about clean and healthy living behavior. Then education is carried out about clean and healthy living behavior that is applied in everyday life in the school environment and in the home environment where each person lives. After that, a Post Test is carried out. The Post Test is carried out to determine the results of education about clean and healthy living behavior in children in order to create a healthy caring generation.

Abstract

The community's habit of storing unnecessary, expired, and damaged medicines as well as the lack of knowledge about the correct way to dispose of medicines are problems that need to be followed up. One of the efforts to increase community knowledge is through education on how to properly dispose of medicines. Education through this service activity was carried out in the community in RT 004, RW 013 Pasir Angin Village, Cileungsi, West Java. Education was provided using the lecture method and leaflet media. The level of knowledge was assessed using a questionnaire before and after education. The service activities have been carried out well and the participants were enthusiastic during the activities. The results of the knowledge score analysis showed that there was a significant increase in knowledge before and after the activity (p<0.05).
