Abstract

This community service is focused on improving students' listening and memory skills through the implementation of an educational "chain whisper" game integrated with local wisdom. The background for this activity is the urgent need to strengthen students' listening and memory abilities amidst a lack of interactive learning methods that are relevant to the cultural context. It uses a participatory and educational approach in several stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The main results show that this approach successfully generated student enthusiasm, encouraged active participation, and significantly improved their ability to listen for details and their memory for the information conveyed. In addition, this activity also helped foster students' appreciation for local cultural heritage and noble values. It is concluded that the chain whisper game rooted in local wisdom is an effective and enjoyable method for developing students' listening and memory skills while also preserving culture.

Abstract

Cases of sexual abuse against women and children in Maros Regency remain high and have a serious impact on the mental health of victims, such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A) has so far only focused on data collection, so it does not yet have a sustainable trauma recovery intervention method. This community service program implements Acceptance-Based Behavioral Therapy (ABBT) as an alternative solution. ABBT emphasizes acceptance, mindfulness training, and behavioral activation to improve the psychological flexibility and well-being of victims. The program implementation includes initial assessment using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21), training for DP3A facilitators, victim assistance, and the use of the EmbraceU digital application as a supporting medium. The results of the activity show an increase in the capacity of facilitators in understanding and applying ABBT, as well as an improvement in the psychological condition of victims, marked by a decrease in symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. Victims also began to show courage in socializing and motivation to return to school. This program strengthens the institutional capacity of DP3A in trauma recovery services and provides an effective and sustainable intervention model for the protection of women and children.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve women workers' understanding of labor rights and reproductive health in the industrial environment of Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. The method used was participatory action research (PAR) involving 80 core participants representing women's organizations, labor unions, and CSR units of local industrial companies. The activities were carried out through interactive lectures, group discussions, case simulations, and role-plays designed to address the limitations of legal and health literacy among women workers. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, from an average pre-test score of 56.4 to 87.6 in the post-test, an increase of 31.2 points. In addition, this activity also identified key issues, namely low understanding of labor rights, the lack of reproductive health facilities in the workplace, and the socio-cultural stigma that makes reproductive issues considered taboo. To ensure the program's sustainability, the Sidoarjo Women's Workers Forum was established as a cross-organizational advocacy platform focused on promoting workers' rights, advocating for the provision of lactation rooms, and strengthening gender advocacy units within labor unions. Overall, this activity successfully achieved more than 90% of its target outputs and made a significant contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of gender equality and decent work. The implication of this activity is the need for similar programs to be replicated in other industrial areas with multi-stakeholder support to strengthen the protection of women workers' rights in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed education and entrepreneurship. However, many young school entrepreneurs still face limitations in financial literacy, technological understanding, and the use of data to support business decision-making. These conditions create challenges in equipping them with adaptive and innovative entrepreneurial competencies in the digital era. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of young prospective entrepreneurs through financial literacy training and the utilization of artificial intelligence. The implementation method consisted of three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage included initial observations, the development of training modules, and the design of evaluation instruments. The implementation stage involved financial literacy training and AI-based training, particularly in business simulation and data visualization. Evaluation was carried out using participant satisfaction surveys as well as pre-test and post-test assessments to measure improvements in knowledge and skills. The results indicated a significant increase in participants’ understanding of financial literacy, business budgeting, AI concepts, and data visualization skills. Participant satisfaction surveys revealed that most participants expressed satisfaction and high appreciation for the training materials and delivery methods. This program successfully addressed the identified problems and contributed to preparing inclusive, adaptive, and competitive young entrepreneurs in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

This community engagement program aims to enhance adolescents’ literacy in legal, social, and health aspects through a participatory community-based education approach. The main partner of this program is the Ambon City Child Forum, which serves as an advocacy platform for youth involvement in local child-friendly city initiatives. The program was implemented in July 2025 in Ambon City, involving 30 adolescent participants who are active members of the forum. The implementation utilized interactive learning methods including participatory lectures, group discussions, case simulations, and role plays designed to address issues related to legal protection, social interaction, and reproductive health among adolescents. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in both knowledge and attitudes among participants. The average score increased from 52.3 (pre-test) to 85.7 (post-test), indicating a 33.4-point improvement after the intervention. Furthermore, 70% of participants reported greater confidence in reporting cases of violence, while 75% became more open to discussing reproductive health issues. The program also established the Child Forum Literacy Working Group, which focuses on continuing peer education activities in schools and surrounding communities. This initiative not only improved adolescents’ multidimensional literacy but also strengthened the role of the Ambon City Child Forum as a peer education and advocacy agent at the local level.  Moreover, the program contributes directly to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs )notably Goals 3, 4, 5, and 16 by fostering a generation of youth who are legally aware, socially empathetic, and physically as well as mentally healthy.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology has created new opportunities for social participation while simultaneously introducing challenges to human-rights protection in cyberspace. Communities in rural Indonesia, particularly in the Maluku region, often face limited awareness of digital rights and online security, making them vulnerable to cyber threats and misinformation. This community service program titled “Cyber Rights and Digital Security: Protecting Human Rights in the Online World” was conducted in Tulehu Village, Central Maluku, to enhance citizens’ understanding of digital rights, cybersecurity, and ethical online behavior. Using participatory methods Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and structured presentations the project engaged 80 participants representing youth, women, educators, and community leaders. The activities emphasized awareness of data privacy, digital ethics, and safe internet practices while linking them to the broader concept of human rights. Results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and behavioral transformation toward responsible digital citizenship. The formation of the Digital Awareness Forum (DAF) ensured program sustainability by enabling continuous education and collaboration with local governance. The outcomes demonstrate that contextualized, rights-based digital-literacy programs can empower rural communities to navigate online spaces safely and ethically. This initiative offers a replicable model for integrating human-rights education with digital transformation, reinforcing that protecting human dignity in the digital era requires awareness, empowerment, and cultural adaptation.

Abstract

This community service project titled “Workshop: The Impact of Digital Detox on Sleep Quality for a Better Lifestyle Health Among University Students” aimed to enhance students’ awareness and behavioral management regarding responsible digital use and its relation to sleep quality. The program was implemented in two phases: a webinar workshop introducing the concept of digital detox and its physiological foundations, followed by Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with pre-test and post-test assessments to evaluate behavioral changes. The workshop successfully improved participants’ digital health literacy and encouraged mindful technology practices. Quantitative analysis showed a 52.2% increase in overall knowledge scores and a 65.3% reduction in pre-sleep screen time. Moreover, the average sleep duration improved from 5.8 to 7.2 hours, and self-reported sleep quality rose by 53.7%. Qualitative reflections confirmed greater emotional stability, reduced anxiety, and higher concentration during academic tasks. The findings emphasize that digital detox education effectively bridges awareness and behavioral transformation by promoting self-regulation, reflection, and peer support. This initiative demonstrates the feasibility of integrating digital wellness programs into higher education as part of holistic student development. Sustainable replication of such initiatives can enhance mental resilience and foster balanced digital habits among Indonesia’s youth, aligning with global health goals for well-being and responsible technology use.
