Abstract

In the era of globalization and technological disruption, strengthening globally competitive human resources (HR) is an urgent need for national progress. This study aims to examine HR development strategies through an integrative approach that combines mastery of global competencies, utilization of digital technology, and preservation of local values. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, this study highlights the importance of synergy between education, industry-based training, and strengthening local character in producing superior HR. The results of the study show that the development of globally competitive HR depends not only on technical skills and technological adaptation, but also on the internalization of local wisdom values as a shaper of identity and work ethics. The integration of aspects of competence, technology, and local culture is believed to be able to create HR that is not only ready to compete globally, but also remains rooted in national values. This study recommends the need for multi-sector collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the business world in building a sustainable and contextual HR development ecosystem.

Abstract

This study explores the human-centered approach to leadership amid organizational disruption, focusing on how leaders manage people not just processes during times of rapid change and uncertainty. Using a qualitative phenomenological method, the research captures the lived experiences of ten leaders from various sectors, including education, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, emphasizing emotional dynamics, leadership values, and interpersonal strategies used by leaders during crisis situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic and digital transformation. The findings reveal that successful leaders prioritize empathy, authentic communication, and psychological safety to maintain team cohesion and morale. Rather than enforcing rigid procedures, they facilitate space for dialogue, reflection, and emotional support. Disruption is not only seen as a threat but also as an opportunity for leadership growth and value transformation. This study underscores the need for leadership development programs that balance technical competencies with emotional intelligence and relational awareness.

Abstract

Indonesia is a culturally diverse country where each region possesses unique cultural and culinary traits that shape the identity of its local communities. In Banjarmasin, one of the most popular traditional foods that has gained significant recognition and public favor is Lontong Orari. This research aims to investigate how local cultural values and nostalgic expectations influence consumer purchasing decisions toward Lontong Orari. The study employs a quantitative associative method with an explanatory approach. The population consists of consumers who have previously purchased and consumed Lontong Orari, using a sample of 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) through the SmartPLS 3.0 software. Findings reveal that both local cultural values and nostalgic expectations significantly influence consumer behavior in making purchasing decisions. Local culture plays a crucial role in shaping consumer identity and preferences, while nostalgia triggers emotional connections that drive consumers to choose traditional foods like Lontong Orari. This study highlights the importance of integrating cultural and emotional elements into marketing strategies for traditional culinary products, especially in preserving regional identity and promoting local economic development through culinary heritage..

Abstract

Financial literacy in the managerial context is no longer merely an additional skill, but has evolved into one of the key foundations that are critically important for the sustainability and advancement of an organization. In facing the complex challenges posed by global economic uncertainty and the rapidly accelerating wave of digital transformation, the ability to understand and apply financial principles strategically becomes the key to maintaining organizational sustainability and competitiveness. This article thoroughly examines the importance of managerial financial literacy as a core competency that not only supports data-driven decision-making processes but also contributes to improving the efficiency of organizational resource management. Through a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, data were collected via semi-structured interviews with managerial actors and relevant document analysis to gain a comprehensive understanding of financial literacy practices within organizational environments. Findings from this study show that when strong financial understanding is combined with the use of modern financial technologies, the result is a significant improvement in various managerial aspects. This includes enhanced capability in maintaining cash flow stability, more effective investment planning, and increased operational efficiency that supports the organization's competitive advantage. Therefore, the main conclusion of this study emphasizes that managerial financial literacy, when synergistically combined with digital skills and practical experience in organizational management, constitutes a highly valuable strategic asset. This asset deserves to be an integral part of comprehensive organizational development policies, including in human resource planning and future leadership capacity-building strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of growth opportunities and ISO 14001 certification on the level of carbon emission disclosure in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Carbon emissions have become a global concern as demands for environmental accountability and transparency in corporate practices increase. This study employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression, based on secondary data obtained from annual reports and sustainability reports of 70 companies during the period 2019–2023. Carbon emissions disclosure is measured using GRI G4-EN15 to G4-EN21 indicators, while growth opportunity is measured through the market-to-book equity ratio, and ISO 14001 certification is categorized as a dummy variable. The results indicate that growth opportunities and ISO 14001 certification have a positive and significant effect on the level of carbon emissions disclosure. Together, these two variables explain 37.5% of the variation in corporate carbon disclosure. These findings indicate that companies with high growth prospects and formal environmental management systems are more likely to disclose carbon emissions information openly as part of their sustainability strategy and public legitimacy. This study contributes theoretically to the environmental accounting literature and offers practical implications for regulators, investors, and companies in promoting more transparent carbon emissions management and reporting

Abstract

This study explores the role of reskilling and upskilling as survival strategies in navigating accelerated global competency shifts driven by technological innovation, globalization, and industrial transformation. Using a qualitative, descriptive-analytical literature review, the research synthesizes findings from reputable academic sources, policy documents, and institutional reports to map the driving forces, challenges, and strategic approaches to workforce adaptability. Results indicate that reskilling acquiring entirely new skill sets and upskilling enhancing existing competencies are complementary approaches essential for bridging skills gaps, enhancing workforce readiness, and sustaining organizational competitiveness. The study identifies significant research gaps, particularly the scarcity of empirical studies in developing economies and the limited integration of socio-economic factors into skill development frameworks. This research offers a novel, context-sensitive model that incorporates technological, economic, and socio-cultural dimensions, providing theoretical contributions and practical implications for policymakers, organizations, and educational institutions in fostering future-ready workforces.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in optimizing digital marketing strategies in start-ups. The research uses a qualitative approach with case study methods in several startup business sectors, such as e-commerce and fintech. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The results show that the application of AI contributes significantly in five main aspects, namely: (1) personalization of services and user experience, (2) budget efficiency and campaign optimization, (3) increased interaction with customers through chatbots, (4) implementation challenges in the form of limited human resources, high initial investment costs, and data privacy issues, and (5) adaptation strategies carried out by companies through collaboration with AI service providers,  internal training, as well as gradual technology investment. These findings confirm that AI has become a strategic instrument for start-ups to increase competitiveness, although its application still faces various limitations. This research contributes to the digital marketing literature by emphasizing the importance of a balance between the use of technology and adaptive strategies that are appropriate to the conditions of startups.
