Abstract

The digital age is bringing significant changes to education, with the metaverse as a technological innovation that offers great potential to revolutionize learning methods. Metaverse creates interactive learning experiences through 3D simulations and avatars, allowing students to learn in a virtual world that mimics real-world scenarios. This transformation changes the approach to learning to be more active, collaborative, and personalized, but also presents challenges, especially regarding accessibility and the digital divide. Students in rural areas often face constraints in accessing adequate devices and internet connections, while the cost of devices such as VR headsets remains high. In addition, issues of data security and privacy are important concerns, as students' personal data must be protected to strict standards. Metaverse also offers the opportunity to create an inclusive learning environment for people with disabilities, with features that can be customized to support their specific needs. However, maximizing the potential of the metaverse requires a paradigm shift in the curriculum, intensive training for teachers, and collaboration between the government, private sector and educational institutions. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the potential and challenges of metaverse implementation in education, by collecting data through interviews, questionnaires and observations. The results show great benefits for learning, although access and data security challenges need to be addressed.

Abstract

Inclusive education is an important issue in ensuring equal access to education for individuals with special needs around the world. Despite its implementation in various countries, challenges such as skills gaps, lack of assistive technology, and social stigma still hinder the integration of students with special needs into the workforce. This research aims to explore these issues and find solutions that can support the development of inclusive education that is more oriented towards the needs of the world of work. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved various stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, employers and policymakers, to identify challenges and opportunities for collaboration between inclusive education and industry. The results showed the need for curriculum revision, integration of assistive technology and increased collaboration between inclusive schools and the world of work to address the skills gap. In addition, strong regulatory support and adequate investment from the government as well as the private sector are necessary to create an inclusive and equitable work environment for students with special needs

Abstract

The transformation of digital technology has resulted in fundamental changes in various sectors of life, including the field of education which is experiencing a significant paradigm shift. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of teacher professional education in improving educational technology skills in the digital era. Along with the rapid development of technology, teachers' ability to integrate technology into the learning process becomes a key element in creating innovative and relevant learning experiences. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving teachers who have participated in the professional education program as the main participants. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis of the education programs followed by the teachers. The results show that professional education substantially improves teachers' skills in utilizing various technological tools, including learning software, digital platforms and technology-based teaching techniques. In addition, the program also encourages the development of positive attitudes towards the use of technology as an integral part of learning. However, the effectiveness of the program is inseparable from challenges such as limited access to technology facilities, lack of follow-up training, and differences in the level of individual readiness to adopt technology. This study concludes that systematically designed professional education with a focus on educational technology has great potential to strengthen teachers competencies in the digital era. These results provide important implications for policy makers and education providers to continue developing needs-based programs, providing adequate infrastructure, and creating a supportive ecosystem that supports the application of technology in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of implementing virtual simulation in Biology learning on concept understanding by Agrotechnology students. Along with the development of technology, technology-based learning, especially virtual simulation, has begun to be applied to support the understanding of more complex concepts. Although a number of previous studies have shown the successful use of virtual simulations in various disciplines, there are still research gaps that need to be filled regarding the application of virtual simulations in the context of Biology education, especially in Agrotechnology study programs. This creates a phenomenon where students have difficulty in understanding these concepts. This research fills the gap by evaluating the application of virtual simulation as a learning method in overcoming this challenge. Using an experimental method, this study involved 30 students as samples, who were tested using pretest and posttest to measure the improvement of their understanding of Biology concepts. The results of the analysis showed that the application of virtual simulation resulted in a significant increase in students' understanding, which was reflected in the N-gain score with an average of 78.25. This value indicates a substantial increase in understanding of Biology concepts after using virtual simulation as a learning method. This finding supports the effectiveness of virtual simulation in improving the understanding of complex concepts, so it can be an effective alternative in learning in Biology. The results of this study provide positive implications for the use of technology in education, especially in improving the quality of learning in higher education

Abstract

This research explores the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in English language teaching, focusing on learning personalization, interaction, and automated feedback. AI allows customization of teaching materials according to students' individual needs, which can improve their understanding. While 73% of students feel AI helps them learn at their own pace, there are concerns from teachers regarding AI's limitations in understanding social context and emotional expressions. In addition, AI improves student interaction through technologies such as chatbots, gamification, and virtual reality, with 80% of students feeling more confident in speaking. However, AI is limited in mimicking human interactions, especially when it comes to sarcasm and cultural context. The study also found that AI is effective in providing automated feedback, but still has shortcomings in assessing accent variations and students' speaking expressions. Challenges to AI implementation also include limited infrastructure, unequal access to technology, and lack of training for educators. Issues related to privacy and ethics arise, with most students and teachers not understanding the use of data in AI systems. Successful AI implementation requires technical support, continuous training, and clear regulations on data protection and technology policy in education.

Abstract

Growing environmental degradation has become a pressing global issue, highlighting the importance of education in shaping the environmental awareness of the younger generation. This study aims to fill the gap in the literature regarding the contribution of schools in building sustainable learning ecosystems that promote environmental awareness among students. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in several schools that implement environmental education programs. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and students, observation of school activities, and document analysis of environment-related education policies. The results showed that the integration of environmental issues in the curriculum, the implementation of nature-based extracurricular programs, and the management of environmentally friendly school facilities play a significant role in building students' awareness of sustainability. Activities such as reforestation, waste management and environmental campaigns allow students to be directly involved in sustainability practices, which in turn increases their understanding of and responsibility for environmental conservation. The involvement of various stakeholders, including families and communities, to support the creation of an effective learning ecosystem. This research provides strategic recommendations for policy makers to design a more integrated and impactful environmental education program. This research is expected to serve as a guide in efforts to strengthen environmental awareness through an educational approach

Abstract

The implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in vocational schools is an innovative strategy to improve student competence in accordance with industry demands. PBL places students as active subjects in the learning process, encouraging the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. However, its success faces challenges such as the readiness of teaching staff as facilitators, limited facilities and infrastructure, and the alignment of problem design with industry needs. Some vocational schools still have difficulty adapting this method due to the lack of training for teachers and limited resources to support project-based learning. In addition, the lack of industry involvement in curriculum design causes learning materials to be less relevant to the world of work. Therefore, close collaboration between schools and industry is needed to ensure that PBL can reflect the real challenges faced in the world of work. Strategic partnerships and the use of cloud-based technology can be a solution in overcoming facility constraints. Periodic evaluations of the implementation of PBL are also needed to measure its effectiveness in improving graduates' job readiness. With the right approach, PBL has the potential to become a superior method in producing an adaptive, competent, and ready workforce to face modern industrial dynamics
