Abstract

This study examines home-based digital micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operated by married women with domestic responsibilities, focusing on the relationship between economic activities, household labor, and household social structures. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved three married women in Bandung, West Java, who had children and had operated home-based digital businesses for at least six months through platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram. Data were collected over one month through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings show that economic and domestic activities occur simultaneously within the same household space, blurring the boundaries between productive and reproductive work. Although the women contributed to household income, they continued to prioritize domestic responsibilities, indicating the persistence of gender-based divisions of labor within the household. Participation in digital MSMEs also increased women’s workload because business activities were carried out alongside childcare and household tasks. The flexibility offered by home-based digital work was largely illusory, as it related more to work location than to control over time and workload. Theoretically, this study contributes to economic sociology and gender studies by showing how digital economic activities are embedded in household social structures. Practically, the findings suggest that women’s MSME empowerment programs should not only focus on digital marketing and income generation, but also consider domestic workload, family support, and more equitable household role arrangements.

Abstract

Abstract

The urgency of this research lies in understanding the factors that influence Generation Z's intention to adopt QRIS as a digital payment solution, thereby supporting the acceleration of financial digitalization and the development of a cashless society in Ternate City. This study examines the influence of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on the intention to use QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) among Generation Z in Ternate City. The study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The research was conducted in Ternate City, Indonesia, involving Generation Z users as the research subjects. A purposive sampling technique was applied to select 50 respondents who were familiar with digital payment systems and QRIS services. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed directly to respondents. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to determine the relationship between perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and behavioral intention. To ensure data quality, validity and reliability tests were conducted before hypothesis testing. The findings reveal that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness simultaneously have a significant effect on behavioral intention to use QRIS, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 50.4%. Partially, perceived usefulness has a statistically significant effect on behavioral intention, while perceived ease of use is not significant at the 5% significance level but becomes marginally significant at the 10% level. These results indicate that perceived usefulness plays a more dominant role in encouraging Generation Z to adopt QRIS as a digital payment method. The study suggests that stakeholders should strengthen educational and promotional strategies emphasizing the practical benefits and efficiency of QRIS to increase user adoption among young consumers.

Abstract

The urgency of this research lies in providing empirical evidence on how operational costs affect net profit in Indonesian food and beverage manufacturing firms during the 2022–2024 period, offering valuable insights for improving efficiency and profitability. The research is motivated by the growing importance of operational cost efficiency in maintaining profitability and business sustainability amid increasing industry competition. Using a quantitative approach and secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the study analyzed 159 financial statements from 53 companies selected through purposive sampling. Data were processed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The results indicate that operational costs have a positive and significant effect on net profit. The positive regression coefficient suggests that higher operational costs are associated with increased net profit, reflecting productive business activities that support revenue growth. The t-test confirms the significance of this relationship, with the calculated t-value exceeding the critical value and a significance level below 0.05. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.854 shows that 85.4% of the variation in net profit can be explained by operational costs, while the remaining 14.6% is influenced by other factors not included in the model. These findings provide empirical evidence on the importance of operational cost management in improving financial performance and profitability. The study implies that companies should optimize the allocation and utilization of operational costs to enhance efficiency and support profit growth. Overall, operational costs play a substantial role in determining net profit among food and beverage manufacturing firms in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the Current Ratio (CR), Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER), and Return on Assets (ROA) on the stock prices of food and beverage manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2022–2024 period. Using a quantitative approach and multiple linear regression analysis, the study analyzed 32 companies selected through purposive sampling from a population of 68 firms. The results indicate that all three financial ratios have a significant effect on stock prices. Partially, the Current Ratio significantly influences stock prices (p = 0.001), suggesting that a stronger liquidity position increases investor confidence. Return on Assets also has a significant effect (p = 0.002), indicating that higher profitability contributes positively to stock valuation. Likewise, the Debt-to-Equity Ratio significantly affects stock prices (p = 0.004), reflecting the importance of capital structure in investors’ assessments. Simultaneously, CR, DER, and ROA jointly have a significant effect on stock prices (p = 0.030), demonstrating that liquidity, profitability, and leverage collectively influence market valuation. These findings provide empirical evidence that financial performance indicators play an important role in determining stock prices in the food and beverage sector. The study offers practical implications for investors in evaluating investment opportunities and for corporate managers in improving financial performance to enhance firm value. Overall, maintaining sound liquidity, profitability, and capital structure is essential for supporting favorable stock price performance and attracting investor interest in the capital market.

Abstract

The urgency of this research is to examine how organizational culture and ethical literacy influence the integrity of Generation Z human resources through self-control, in response to the growing ethical challenges faced by young workers in the digital era and the increasing need for a trustworthy and sustainable workforce in Bima City. This study examines the influence of organizational culture and ethical literacy on the integrity of Generation Z human resources, with self-control serving as a mediating variable in the context of Bima City, Indonesia. In the era of rapid digital transformation, integrity has become an essential factor in maintaining ethical behavior, accountability, and organizational sustainability among younger generations entering the workforce. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey design and Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) for data analysis. Data were collected from 100–200 Generation Z respondents aged 15–25 through purposive sampling using online questionnaires based on a five-point Likert scale. The findings reveal that ethical literacy has a positive and significant effect on integrity, while self-control also significantly strengthens integrity. Organizational culture does not directly influence integrity; however, it significantly affects self-control, indicating an indirect relationship through mediation. In contrast, ethical literacy does not significantly influence self-control. The model demonstrates strong explanatory power, with R-square values of 0.642 for self-control and 0.755 for integrity. These findings suggest that internal psychological factors, particularly ethical literacy and self-control, play a more dominant role than external organizational factors in shaping the integrity of Generation Z. This study contributes to the literature on organizational behavior and human resource management by integrating external and internal determinants of integrity within a comprehensive mediation framework in a local socio-cultural context.

Abstract

This study is urgent because rapid digital transformation requires students to adapt to evolving workplace demands. Understanding how digital environmental change and dynamics influence work readiness supports more effective higher education policies and graduate preparedness. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital environmental change and digital environment dynamics on the work readiness of Management students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar in the era of digital transformation. Previous studies have mainly focused on individual digital competencies, such as digital literacy, soft skills, and self-efficacy, while limited attention has been given to how broader changes and dynamics in the digital environment shape students’ work readiness, particularly in higher education institutions in eastern Indonesia. This study employed a quantitative explanatory survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 80 Management students from the 2022 cohort and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Digital environmental change refers to shifts in technology-based learning, communication patterns, and access to digital resources, whereas digital environment dynamics refers to the rapid, continuous, and complex development of digital systems that requires students to adapt to changing educational and workplace demands. The findings indicate that both digital environmental change and digital environment dynamics have a positive and significant effect on students’ work readiness, with digital environment dynamics showing a relatively stronger contribution. The two variables explain 41.3% of the variation in work readiness. Academically, this study contributes to the work readiness literature by positioning the digital environment as a multidimensional external factor, not merely as individual digital competence. Practically, the findings suggest that universities need to strengthen digital-based learning environments, improve digital literacy programs, and develop students’ adaptability skills to better prepare graduates for the evolving labor market.
