Abstract

The health of pregnant women is one of the key factors in creating a healthy and quality next generation. To increase awareness and access of pregnant women to health services, especially pregnancy examinations. This activity aims to provide ultrasound services to pregnant women, so that they can monitor fetal development more optimally and detect early the possibility of abnormalities or complications during pregnancy. The implementation of this activity involves medical professionals who are experienced in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Pregnant women who take part in this activity receive a thorough ultrasound examination, accompanied by consultation related to the results of the examination and education about the importance of health monitoring during pregnancy. The results of this activity show the high enthusiasm and need of the community for pregnancy health services, especially in areas that have limited access to health facilities. This activity is expected to be the first step in efforts to improve the quality of maternal and child health in the future. Community Service activities have been successfully carried out with a significant impact on the participants. The program not only provides pregnant women with wider access to quality pregnancy screenings, but also improves their understanding of the importance of health monitoring during pregnancy.

Abstract

Hypertension and stroke are two interrelated health conditions and have a high prevalence in the community. Both diseases can be prevented through effective health education, which aims to increase public awareness and knowledge about risk factors, early signs, and prevention efforts that can be taken. This Community Service Program aims to provide health education to the public about the prevention of hypertension and stroke, with a focus on the introduction of healthy lifestyles, risk factor control, and the importance of early detection. This activity was carried out by involving the active participation of the local community. The methods used in this program include lectures, interactive discussions, and simulation of preventive measures. The educational material includes the importance of dietary regulation, physical activity, stress management, and regular blood pressure monitoring. Program evaluation is carried out through pre-test and post-test to measure the improvement of public knowledge after receiving education. The results of this program show a significant improvement in public understanding of hypertension and stroke prevention. Most participants were able to identify risk factors and express readiness to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Thus, this program is expected to contribute to reducing the incidence of hypertension and stroke in the community through increased awareness and better preventive measures

Abstract

This community service program aims to increase public awareness and participation in blood donation activities through education and the regular implementation of blood donation. Adequate blood availability in blood transfusion units is critical to saving lives, but community participation in blood donation is still low in some areas. Through this activity, counselling was carried out to the community about the benefits of blood donation, health requirements, and the importance of blood donation continuity for medical emergency needs. This program collaborates with the Indonesia Red Cross (PMI) and local health facilities to organize routine blood donation activities every three months. It is hoped that with this program, community participation in blood donation will increase significantly, and sustainable awareness about the importance of sharing and helping others through blood donation will be created. The results of this activity were measured through an increase in the number of blood donation participants and an evaluation of community knowledge after counselling was carried out

The implementation methods included interactive counselling, the presentation of educational audiovisual materials, and the distribution of informative leaflets designed to meet the needs of the target adolescent audience. The activities were carried out in collaboration with schools and youth communities using an engaging and accessible approach. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of BSE, the correct techniques for performing it, and its role in the early detection of breast abnormalities. Based on participant feedback, the combination of audiovisual media and leaflets proved effective in capturing attention and simplifying complex information. In conclusion, the use of audiovisual media and leaflets is an effective approach to raising adolescents' awareness of BSE. This approach provides a practical and engaging method for delivering health education, making it a valuable strategy for promoting preventive health behaviours among adolescents.

Abstract

Health services in Puskesmas have a strategic role in improving the quality of public health. However, the competence of nurses in health centers often still needs improvement, especially in terms of technical skills, communication, and patient-based services. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve the competence of nurses at the Health Center through practice-based training and mentoring. The implementation method involves stages: needs analysis, competency-based training, case simulation, and direct mentoring in the workplace. This activity is carried out collaboratively using a participatory approach, where nurses are actively involved in each stage to ensure the relevance and sustainability of learning. The results showed a significant improvement in the concept understanding and practical ability of nurses, which was reflected in the increase in skill evaluation scores before and after training. Mentoring also helps nurses in applying the knowledge gained into the context of daily work. In conclusion, practice-based training and mentoring is an effective strategy to improve the competence of nurses in health centers, which can ultimately contribute to improving the quality of public health services. This program is recommended to be implemented more widely with continuous support from related parties.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious infectious disease that is a public health challenge in Indonesia. The disease is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and has a high rate of transmission, especially in environments with low health awareness. Increasing public knowledge and understanding of the prevention of pulmonary TB is a very important preventive step in reducing the transmission rate. The Community Service Program (PkM) aims to provide information and education to the public about pulmonary TB, including its causes, symptoms, ways of transmission, and prevention efforts. This activity is carried out with a participatory approach through counseling, group discussions, and distribution of health information materials. The main target is vulnerable groups in certain areas that have a high prevalence of pulmonary TB. The implementation method includes three main stages: (1) preparation in the form of identification of needs and development of educational modules, (2) implementation in the form of implementation of counseling sessions and interactive discussions, and (3) evaluation in the form of community knowledge surveys before and after activities. The data was analyzed descriptively to measure changes in the level of public understanding. The results showed a significant increase in public understanding of pulmonary TB, especially related to prevention through a healthy lifestyle, good home ventilation, and the importance of early treatment. The evaluation also revealed the community's commitment to implement the preventive measures that have been conveyed in the activity. In conclusion, information and education through PkM are effective in increasing public awareness and knowledge about the prevention of pulmonary TB. It is hoped that similar activities can continue to be carried out on a sustainable basis to support the national program to eradicate pulmonary TB in Indonesia.
