Abstract

Community service activities have been carried out for Science Teachers at the MGMP IPA Muara Tami District Jayapura. This activity aims to (1) provide knowledge to science teachers about the inclusion of ethnoscience in the creation of teaching materials, (2) provide skills to science teachers in creating ethnoscience-based teaching materials, and (3) produce ethnoscience-based teaching material products Jayapura. Community service activities are carried out in the form of training with lecture methods, discussions and mentoring in the practice of making teaching materials. This service was carried out for 2 months from August-September 2025, involving 8 science teachers throughout the Muara Tami District which was centered at SMP Negeri 8 Jayapura. At the end of the community service activities, the Community Service team obtained the following results: a) Science teachers in Muara Tami Jayapura District have knowledge related to Ethnoscience that can be used in science learning in class, b) Science teachers in Muara Tami Jayapura District have been able to create teaching materials based on Jayapura Ethnoscience that can be used in science teaching in schools and c) The interest of science teachers in Muara Tami Jayapura District is enthusiastic in participating in training activities, which is shown by their active asking questions and having discussions both with fellow training participants and with resource persons.

Abstract

Writing a final project or thesis is a vital part of the academic process for students within the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Cenderawasih University. One crucial aspect of scientific writing is the ability to organize citations and bibliographies accurately and in accordance with academic standards. However, reality in the field shows that many students still face difficulties in citing correctly, due to both a lack of understanding of scientific citation styles (such as APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.) and limited proficiency in using digital tools like Reference Management Software (e.g., Mendeley or Zotero). Commonly occurring issues include inconsistencies in citation and bibliography formats, errors in listing sources, and even plagiarism practices resulting from a lack of information literacy. Furthermore, many students are not yet familiar with reference management software, which could actually facilitate the citation process automatically and efficiently. To address these issues, this community service activity is designed with a participatory and educational approach through intensive Reference Management Software training. This activity aims to provide a conceptual understanding of the importance of correct citation as well as hands-on technical skills in operating reference management tools. The implementation methods include interactive lectures, direct practice, and individual mentoring and evaluation sessions. Through this activity, it is expected that students will be able to produce higher-quality scientific works, free from plagiarism, and in line with academic standards. The outcomes of this activity include improved participant skills, digital training modules, video tutorials, and the publication of community service scientific articles. This activity also serves as a tangible contribution to fostering a healthy academic culture and supporting the smooth completion of final projects for students at FKIP Cenderawasih University.

Abstract

Secara tradisional, ekstraksi empulur sagu dilakukan dengan cara manual (dipukul/parut tangan) yang memakan waktu lama. Untuk menigkatkan produktifitas diperlukan mesin produksi pengolahan sagu. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat oleh kampus sangat berkontribusi dalam perencanaan dan pembuatan unit mesin pengolahan sagu dengan kapasitas 30 kg/jam. Perencanaan dilakukan dengan pertimbangan aspek material dan biaya perawatan yang memungkinkan mesin ini mampu beroperasi dalam waktu lama. Mesin ini digunakan oleh UMKM Usaha Bersama di desa Kembung Luar dengan kemudahan operasional dan mampu meningkatkan produksi sagu dan keuntungan UMKM.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 requires student organizations to be able to adapt to digital transformation in managing organizational activities. However, the OSIS management of YPPK Teruna Bakti High School still faces limitations in creating publication media, documenting activities, and managing organizational information digitally. This community service activity aims to improve the digital literacy of OSIS administrators through the use of Canva digital media while supporting the digitalization of Pancasila Management in student organizations. The method used in this community service is the Participatory Training and Mentoring approach (participatory training and mentoring) which involves OSIS administrators as active participants in the training, practice, and evaluation process. The results of this community service are activities carried out for 15 OSIS administrators through training in creating various digital media, especially Canva-based OSIS chairperson candidate campaign posters that integrate Pancasila democratic values. The results of this community service activity show that participants are able to develop more creative, attractive, and communicative digital publication media, and understand the use of technology as a means of strengthening Pancasila values. The conclusion of this community service activity is that the use of Canva has proven effective in supporting the digitalization of school organizational management while supporting the formation of student character that is creative, democratic, responsible, and adaptive to technological developments.
