Abstract

This community service activity, which focused on educating participants about the role of higher education in improving the welfare of the Sungai Limau community in Padang Pariaman Regency, aims to foster enthusiasm among participants to pursue higher education and increase public knowledge about higher education. Currently, many residents of Sungai Limau are from lower-middle income groups, so this outreach program is needed to open their minds to improving their welfare through a better economy. The community of Sungai Limau was very enthusiastic in attending this activity, and the event proceeded smoothly and received a positive response from the local government.

Abstract

This community service activity, focusing on the importance of optimizing the marketing strategy of Dapoer Rendang Riery, an MSME, through digital platforms in Payakumbuh City, aims to foster participants' enthusiasm for using digital platforms to increase sales and ultimately generate greater profits. Currently, many MSMEs are unfamiliar with digital platforms. Therefore, this activity aims to improve their marketing system, enabling them to gain wider recognition and international reach.

Abstract

The C++ training program held at SMK Ibrahimy 1 Sukorejo aims to improve students' skills in creating software using the C++ language. This activity is designed to provide a basic, intermediate-level understanding of C++ syntax, data structures, algorithms, and applications in simple programming. Participants in this training were 10th and 11th grade students majoring in Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) and Software Engineering (RPL), taught by experienced instructors in the field of programming. The training approach consisted of interactive lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and small projects aimed at honing students' problem-solving skills. The material covered included an introduction to variables, data types, operators, branching, looping, functions, arrays, and the fundamentals of object-oriented programming (OOP). Furthermore, participants were introduced to the use of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Code::Blocks and Visual Studio Code to assist with coding and debugging. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in students' knowledge of C++ programming concepts, with 85% of them successfully creating functional programs based on the assigned modules. This training also fosters collaboration among students through group discussions and peer assessments, thus fostering teamwork skills. It is hoped that this activity will serve as a starting point for students to develop further programming projects and prepare them for competition or the world of work in the information technology sector.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to overcome the challenges of limited incidental social assistance for 25 children at the Pondok Rajeg Orphanage, Bogor Regency. This program seeks to integrate the orphanage system with pesantren education. With a participatory approach, it not only provides material assistance such as money, clothing, prayer tools, stationery, and fans, but also includes educational assistance and religious activities in activities carried out in the month of Ramadan. This activity has proven the effectiveness of a holistic mentoring model that combines material assistance with character building, especially in boarding school institutions. An important implication of this program is the need to develop a sustainable donation system based on real needs data, as well as the importance of collaboration from various parties in addressing the problems of orphans and the poor.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing children’s reading interest in Pidodo Kulon Village. A qualitative approach was employed using semi-structured interviews and observations, involving 11 informants consisting of teachers, the principal, village officials, parents, and elementary school students. The findings reveal that children’s low reading interest is shaped by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include low learning motivation, the absence of early reading habits, and a greater attraction to gadgets than books. External factors consist of parenting patterns of parents working abroad, limited family support in fostering literacy, insufficient access to reading materials, and school curricula that have not fully promoted literacy development. The revitalization of the village Reading Corner has become a positive initial step to address this issue, although further development of more diverse and age-appropriate book collections is still needed. This study emphasizes that improving children’s reading interest requires active collaboration between families, schools, and the community to create a supportive and sustainable literacy environment.

Abstract

The low reading interest and limited access to literacy remain major challenges in rural communities. Penambangan Village, through the Rumah Edukasi (Education House), strives to provide more effective literacy services by utilizing digital technology. This study aims to optimize the Rumah Edukasi services through a QR Digital Library as a means of improving community literacy. The research employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, actively involving the community in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the program. The service implementation was carried out by providing digital reading collections accessible via QR codes placed at various strategic points in the village. The findings indicate that the application of the QR Digital Library successfully increased public access to reading materials, expanded literacy outreach, and fostered a more flexible and independent reading culture. In conclusion, the optimization of QR-based digital services has proven to be an innovative solution for strengthening the literacy ecosystem at the village level, while also serving as a model for the development of technology-based literacy services in rural communities.

Abstract

Krajan Hamlet, Sumber Kemuning Village, Bondowoso Regency, is a pottery craft center that holds cultural value and creative economic potential. However, it is currently facing a serious challenge, namely the lack of artisan regeneration due to the shifting interests of the younger generation. This community service activity aims to encourage artisan regeneration through pottery training as a strategy for cultural preservation as well as strengthening the creative economy based on local wisdom in Sumber Kemuning Village. The method employed in this program is Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving the community, pottery artisans, village youth, and village officials. The program was carried out through several stages, including surveys and observations, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), socialization, training, and evaluation. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in technical pottery-making skills, participants’ understanding of the economic value embedded in pottery crafts and cultural traditions, as well as the growing awareness of the younger generation to take part in preservation efforts. Participants were also equipped with digital marketing strategies to expand market access for their enterprises. Thus, this training program has proven effective in addressing the challenge of artisan regeneration and has the potential to serve as a replicable empowerment model in other regions with similar conditions.

Abstract

Community service through the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) is one form of student contribution in addressing problems within the community. This study aims to examine the role of KKN in improving the village economy and providing education to children and the community in Tutul Village, Jember Regency. The methods used in this study are socialization and direct observation. KKN students participated in activities such as creating promotional videos and company logos, conducting counseling on the dangers ofearly marriage and stunting, and educating school children about the risks of online game addiction. The results show that through KKN activities, students can have a positive impact by increasing community awareness of social and economic issues, as well as supporting the development of village potential through business promotion and health and social education.

Abstract

Reading interest in rural communities is often hindered by limited access to books and a lack of engaging literacy programs. This study aims to quantitatively measure the increase in reading interest and visits to the "Aneka Ilmu" library in Bogor Baru Village through a Community Service Program (KKN) intervention. The research method used a quantitative approach by comparing library visitor data before and during the KKN period. Visitor data were recorded and analyzed descriptively based on age groups and gender. Results showed a significant increase in the number of library visitors, amounting to 150% compared to the previous period. The largest increase was observed in the 7-12 age group, with a 300% increase, and was predominantly female with a 240% increase. The conclusion of this study is that a structured and innovative literacy program can quantitatively increase reading interest and community participation, especially among children, in literacy activities at a village library.

Abstract

This Community Service activity was carried out to PKK women in Galih village, Gemuh District, Kendal Regency. This activity aims to minimize the anxiety felt by PKK mothers by providing assistance to psychological conditions. Through this activity, PKK mothers are trained to perform therapy with light tapping, namely the sides of the palms, the base of the eyebrows, the sides of the eyes, under the nose, chin, collarbone, under the armpits, and above the head, while focusing their thoughts on the problems they want to overcome. Interview sessions with PKK mothers were conducted to see the effects and changes after doing Dhikr Therapy. The results of this activity showed that PKK women felt calm by doing Dhikr Therapy. Thus, dhikr therapy is effectively used as an alternative to psychological and spiritual approaches in overcoming anxiety.
