Abstract

The limited research studies on early childhood care culture in the tribal context in Indonesia have encouraged researchers to be interested in raising the issue of how early childhood care cultures in East Kalimantan. The purpose of this study is to narrate the culture of early childhood care across tribes (Kutai, Banjar, and Dayak) and the internalization process is reviewed the values adopted, internalization of character and are that is applied. The research method used in this study is grounded theory. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews in 6 participants consisting of three experts and three families from Samarinda City. The question form is in the form of experience in early childcare that allows them to explore the answer in terms of cultural dimensions. Researchers also adopted a quality research code of ethics to disguise the identity of participants in a thematic data analysis approach. The results of the study concluded that the culture of early childhood care for kutai, Banjar and Dayak families in East Kalimantan was influenced by historical perspectives and internalization of parenting through habituation and tribal values as learning children's character at home. This is known in the practice of habituation in the home environment is consistently carried out by the family. In other words, the contribution of this study can be used as an empirical study of the culture of early childhood care based on tribal culture (ethnoparenting).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of bullying on children's psychosocial and provide education to parents about the risk of bullying for children's psychosocial development. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach that is carried out in Tanjung Gelumpang Village, Kab. Aceh Tamiang. The subjects used were two children using interview and observation data collection techniques and then analyzed using the Milles and Huberman model consisting of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the impact of bullying caused the inhibition of children's psychosocial development such as the development of a child's guilt in doing anything, and having an attitude of not being able to realize the desires to be achieved, children not daring to adapt to their environment and not showing a sense of concern for others.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of code-switching in the introduction of English in TK and KB Swasti Karya, Megati Village, Tabanan Regency, Bali. The factors causing the use of code-switching are also one of the aim in this research. This research is a qualitative descriptive study in which the researcher analyzes the speech of teachers and children in the introduction to English class in TK and KB Swasti Karya. There are 4 teachers and 59 children are divided into TK and KB groups. The instrument used is a list of observation guidelines, interviews, and documentation. An in-depth analysis was carried out on the utterances using the code-switching theory by Poplack (2001). The results of this study found 18 utterances indicated code-switching. A total of 7 utterances are categorized in insertion (intra-sentential code-switching), and 11 utterances are categorized in alternation (inter-sentential code-switching). Meanwhile, the category of congruent lexicalization was not found in this study. Then the factors that influence the use of this code-switching are (1) to convey meaning effectively when facing difficulties in conveying meaning, (2) making communication more inclusive or closer to certain students/groups/etc, (3) improve students' understanding when they have not achieved the learning objectives, (4) to convey meaning or understanding contextually, (5) for meaning or understanding, (6) helping to help learners of English as a Foreign Language for bilingual children.

Abstract

Weaving activities using origami as a way to develop early childhood creativity and improve children's fine motor development. This study aims to determine the teacher's strategy in developing children's creativity with origami media. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The results of research on increasing creativity in early childhood using origami media at the Pembina Mataram State Kindergarten have increased but not overall significantly. The results of the research on the obstacles faced by teachers are as follows: 1) origami media is a medium that is quite difficult and takes a long time to be taught to children; 2) when children already feel difficulties they will immediately not conducive. The obstacles faced by children are: children have difficulty inserting origami pieces into the base of origami paper because they are rarely used so children are not used to it. The results of the research efforts that have been carried out by the teacher are that before starting the core learning the teacher always invites children to tell stories and sing so that children feel comfortable and happy to be in class, after being comfortable the teacher starts with core lessons so that children become conducive and children's creativity increases. can be seen through the results done by children.

Abstract

The prolonged pandemic period forces children to lose their learning period at school. There are many obstacles, especially learning in early childhood. Teachers are expected to be able to provide a comfortable and fun form of learning, one of which is project-based learning methods. By applying a project-based approach at PAUD Vidya Karuna Denpasar, children get a learning experience working together, sharing tasks and responsibilities that are carried out in an integrated manner to achieve a common goal. Children understand the material when child has tried to do activities and find out solution to a problem. Focus of this research is the inculcation of children's independence based on the project method. Type of research is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Hubberman model with an interactive model consisting of four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed inculcation of children's independence through this project-based learning method increased by 40% from the initial observation. As many as 86% of children aged 4-5 years have become independent according to the indicators of the child independence instrument. Project-based learning also improve children's cognitive and socio-emotional

Abstract

Balinese dance is famous for the complexity of movement that must be preserved. The people and the government fully support the spirit of preserving Balinese dance. Regeneration of Balinese dancers can start at an early age. If it is related to learning dance for early childhood with the Balinese dance rule, it is certainly the opposite. There is one studio that has succeeded in implementing Balinese dance learning and maintaining the quality of Balinese dance movements in early childhood. Taman Giri Agung Studio is an art studio established by the Bali Provincial Culture Service. This study aims to find out the strategies used by instructors in learning Balinese dance to participants belonging to early childhood and to find out the obstacles and efforts made in overcoming obstacles in the learning process. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection is done by non-participant observation, literature study, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the strategy used is to give freedom and not to force participants to follow instructions. The material provided for early childhood is an introduction to the basic movements of Balinese dance and Pendet Dance material. The learning method is a guided demonstration method conducted by 3 professional Balinese dance instructors. The evaluation stage is carried out once a year with a level increase system. The obstacles found in the learning process related to the participants' boredom were overcome by several efforts, including giving motivational words, giving rest breaks, and motivating by watching seniors' exercises.

Abstract

Early childhood is a child who is in the golden age that must be optimized properly so that it requires teachers to choose the best method, especially to stimulate children's creative abilities. the next generation of intelligent, creative and character. This research is a type of classroom action research (CAR). The steps for learning the story method with pictures according to the plans that have been prepared with three cycles of each cycle according to the theme, namely learning I with the theme Pets/Chickens, the results show very well-developed children (BSB) as many as 14 people (82.4 %) and Developing According to Expectations 3 people (17.6%). Learning II with the theme of Pets/Cats the results showed 15 children (88.2%) developed very well and 2 (11.8%) developed according to expectations. Learning III with the theme Pets / Pigeons the overall results from the aspect of creativity showed that children who were very well developed (BSB) were 17 people (100%). Abstract

A young child is an individual who is unique and has characteristics according to the stages of their age. Language skills are one of the abilities of children who often experience obstacles in their development. The storytelling method based on local wisdom is a solution to improve early childhood language skills. This Classroom Action Research aims to determine the improvement of language skills through storytelling methods based on local wisdom in children of Group B2 PAUD Pelita Kasih. The research used a four-stage procedure, namely: action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection, in two successive cycles with each cycle lasting for 3 days. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis method used was descriptive analysis. The results showed an increase in the percentage of completeness that occurred in the initial observation until Cycle II. The rate of fullness in the initial observation of language skills was 6 children (35.29%), in Cycle I it reached 11 children (64.71%), and in Cycle II it reached 15 children (88, 24%). The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of the storytelling method based on local wisdom can improve the language skills of the children of Group B2 PAUD Pelita Kasih

Abstract

Early Childhood socio-emotional abilities are important to be developed and stimulated optimally by making use of learn-through-play activities. One of the stimulations applied is through the traditional game of clogs (in Bahasa: bakiak). This study aims to determine the improvement of social-emotional skills through traditional games of clogs for children in Group B1 PAUD Pelita Kasih. The research subjects were 18 children of Group B1 PAUD Pelita Kasih. This research was carried out in 2 cycles, namely Cycle I and Cycle II, with each stage, namely planning, implementation, observattion, and reflection. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the traditional game of clogs can improve the social and emotional abilities of the students of Group B1 PAUD Pelita Kasih. This can be seen in the increase in the percentage of completeness that occurred in the initial condition that from 18 students only 4 children (22.22%) achieved completeness, in Cycle 1 it increased to 8 children (44.44%), and in Cycle II it increased again to 15 children. (83.33%). So it can be concluded that the traditional game of clogs can be an alternative stimulation in improving the social-emotional skills of early childhood in Group B1 PAUD Pelita Kasih

Abstract

Early childhood is the next generation of the nation that needs serious attention. This potential needs to be stimulated and facilitated in order to develop optimally. Media is an important aspect to support children's early literacy skills. This media is a simple learning media by combining the alphabet (a-z) which is made on origami paper and underneath there are ice cream sticks. This study used three theories consisting of behavioristic theory, constructive theory, and maturationist theory. This research uses classroom action research. The results obtained depicted an increase in learning mastery as much as 14 or 93.3% of students had met the minimum completeness criteria. In the observation of Cycle II, this research has reached the criteria of success indicators that have been set, namely 80% of the total number of students. The impact of using smart ice cream stick educational game tools in growing literacy skills in Besan Village Kindergarten is that children recognize letters well (pre-writing program), children can learn while playing, help stimulate children's fine motor skills, foster a spirit of togetherness among children, improve children's ability to listen and increase children's vocabulary.
