Abstract

The problem in this study is the low critical thinking skills possessed by students in economic subjects. This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning in developing students' critical thinking skills in economics subjects. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study population amounted to 178 students with a sample size of 123 students in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Ciamis in the 2024/2025 school year, with sampling using proportionate sampling technique. The results showed that: (1) emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on critical thinking skills; (2) self-regulated learning has a positive and significant effect on critical thinking skills; (3) emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on critical thinking skills by obtaining a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.672. This means that the contribution of the independent variables to critical thinking skills is 67.2% and the remaining 32.8% is influenced by other variables outside this study.

Abstract

Financial management behavior is an important skill that every individual should have, especially students who are starting to be independent in managing their finances in order to support their financial independence. The development of financial digitalization has encouraged students to switch to digital payments in daily transactions, maintaining that it is closely related to financial management behavior. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of using digital payments on students' financial management behavior with digital financial literacy as a moderating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population of this study amounted to 366 economic education students, with a sample size of 188 students. The results showed that: (1) There is a significant effect of using digital payments on student financial management behavior. (2) Digital financial literacy moderates the effect of using digital payments on student financial management behavior (3) Simultaneously, the use of digital payments and digital financial literacy has an influence on student financial management behavior. This study shows that the use of digital payments has a positive and significant effect on student financial management behavior, with digital financial literacy moderating the relationship.

Abstract

This research examines the use of educational games as a strategy to increase interest in learning economics among primary school students. Through a comprehensive literature study, this research analyzes various data sources including relevant journals, articles and theoretical studies to evaluate the effectiveness of educational games in the context of economic education. The study results show that educational games can be an invaluable tool in educating students about basic economic concepts such as the value of money, exchange and efficient use of resources. The games not only add excitement to the learning process but also help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The study emphasizes the importance of good game design, which should match the learning objectives and be able to provide adequate feedback to students. In addition, this study suggests that teachers need to be trained to integrate the use of educational games with the existing curriculum to optimize economic learning outcomes. With the right approach, educational games have the potential to enrich the learning experience and support students in building a strong foundation in economics from an early age

Abstract

PT Swarna Tangguh Cemerlang faces problems with sales stagnation and declining annual profits. So the study aims to determine whether there is an effect of quality costs, inventory levels and employee turnover on sales with profitability as an intervening variable. The aim is to find a correlation between quality costs, inventory levels and employee turnover on sales with profitability as an intervening variable to determine the company's strategy. The method used is the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method using SmartPLS 3.0 PLS. The results of the direct relationship between variables are Quality costs (X1) Inventory levels (X2) have a positive and significant effect on Sales (Y) with T statistics of 26.525 and 2.158. Employee turnover (X3) has a significant negative effect on Sales (Y) with a T statistic of 2.048. The result is Quality costs (X1) have a significant positive effect on Profitability (Y) with T statistics of 4.912. Profitability (Z) has a positive and significant effect on Sales (Y) with T statistics of 20.468. Meanwhile, the intervening variable Quality Cost (X1) has a significant and positive influence on Sales (Y) with mediation from Profitability (Z) supported by a statistical T value of 5.143.

Abstract

This study is based on the phenomenon of low cognitive ability scores in economics subjects in grade XI at SMAN 1 Jatiwaras. The purpose of this study is to determine the difference in the improvement of cognitive ability in students who apply the discovery learning model aided by a jeopardy game compared to the conventional model aided by PowerPoint. Using an experimental method that employs a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group type, two classes were obtained as samples with 34 students each based on purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique was by observation using a cognitive ability test instrument in the form of multiple choice questions. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference in the improvement of students' cognitive abilities through the discovery learning model aided by jeopardy games with the conventional model aided by PowerPoint based on a significance of 0.001, which means that the hypothesis is accepted. However, the class that applied the conventional model with the help of PowerPoint was seen to be superior because it was the class with the highest cognitive ability scores in economics, even though the class that applied the discovery learning model with the help of jeopardy games experienced a higher increase in cognitive ability based on the scores before and after being given treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of parents‘ socioeconomic status (SES) on students’ learning achievement with learning motivation as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with the path analysis method on students of class XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Ciamis. The results showed that parental SES did not have a significant direct effect on learning achievement (β = 0.0322, p = 0.6058), but had an indirect effect through learning motivation which acted as a full mediator (indirect effect = 0.3026, p < 0.001). Learning motivation was shown to have a significant influence on learning achievement (β = 0.5937, p < 0.001). This finding supports Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory and Ryan & Deci's Self-Determination Theory, which emphasise that internal factors are more dominant in academic achievement than external factors. Thus, an increase in SES does not necessarily improve learning achievement in the absence of strong learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-concept, independent learning, and family environment on the learning motivation of high school students. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach. The research sample consisted of 207 tenth grade students from SMA Negeri 5 Tasikmalaya who were selected using the proportionate random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 26. The regression test results show that self-concept and independent learning have a positive and significant effect on learning motivation, with significance values of 0.004 and 0.000, respectively. The family environment also has a significant effect with a sig value of 0.000. The F test shows that the three independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on learning motivation (sig = 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.599 indicates that 59.9% of the variation in learning motivation can be explained by the three variables. These findings confirm that internal and external factors play an important role in increasing students' learning motivation. Therefore, educators and parents need to provide optimal support to create a conducive learning environment.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of grade XI social studies students at SMA Negeri 1 Cikatomas and the effectiveness of the Jigsaw type Cooperative Learning Model with the help of Question Card media. The purpose of the study was to improve student learning outcomes using a quantitative approach and experimental methods consisting of planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included teachers and 209 grade XI students. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and tests, with analysis. The results showed that in the experimental class, the average pre-test score increased from 54.19 to 78.16, while in the control class it increased from 51.42 to 68.45. The Paired Sample T-test showed a 2-tailed Sig. value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant improvement in learning outcomes. The independent t-test also shows a significant difference between the experimental and control classes after treatment. Thus, the Jigsaw-type Cooperative Model with the help of Question Cards is proven to be more effective than the lecture method in improving the learning outcomes of students in grade XI IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Cikatomas Academic Year 2023/2024.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the low student learning outcomes which are thought to be influenced by learning readiness and learning interest factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of learning readiness and interest in learning on student learning outcomes in Economics subjects in class XI of SMA Negeri 7 Tasikmalaya in the 2024/2025 school year. This research uses quantitative methods with a survey approach. The data collection technique was carried out through distributing questionnaires to students in class XI Social Economics of SMA Negeri 7 Tasikmalaya in the 2024/2025 school year with a total of 186 students selected through purposive sampling technique, and data analysis using multiple linear regression. The results showed that learning readiness and interest in learning had a significant effect on learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously. The higher the learning readiness and interest in learning of students, the better the learning outcomes obtained. Therefore, it is recommended for schools and educators to improve learning readiness and motivate students' interest in learning through more innovative and interactive learning strategies. Future research can develop this research by considering other factors that contribute to student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in economics. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of creative thinking, critical thinking, and learning environment on student learning outcomes. The research method used was a survey with an associative research design. The research population consisted of 251 students in grade XI of SMA Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya City who took Economics, with a sample of 154 students selected using the simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, and data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results showed that creative thinking skills, critical thinking skills, and the learning environment each had a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.000. In addition, simultaneously, the three variables also had a significant effect on student learning outcomes. These findings indicate that improving creative thinking skills, critical thinking skills, and a conducive learning environment can contribute to improving student learning outcomes in economics.
