Abstract

Junior high school students' understanding of cybersecurity concepts remains relatively low due to the lack of interactive learning media tailored to students’ characteristics. This study aims to develop CyberBoard, an educational board game designed to enhance eighth-grade students' understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts. The research was conducted following the initial stages of the Research and Development (R&D) method, employing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) as the approach for designing and implementing the learning media. The results showed an improvement in students’ average scores from 68.81 (pretest) to 84.52 (posttest). The normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed (p > 0.05), and the N-Gain test resulted in a score of 0.6818 or 68.18%, which falls into the "moderately effective" category. Therefore, it can be concluded that CyberBoard is effective in improving students’ understanding of cybersecurity.

Abstract

This study aims to explain classroom management strategies implemented to reduce literacy inequality among first-grade students at SD Negeri Munggangsari. Literacy inequality remains a serious problem at the elementary school level, primarily due to differences in learning motivation, access to reading materials, and support from the learning environment. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach and collected data through semi-structured interviews with teachers and observations of classroom learning processes. The study findings revealed that the main strategy implemented by teachers was providing rewards, such as praise, stickers, and positions as "Reading Leaders" for students who showed progress or active engagement in reading activities. This method proved effective in increasing student motivation and interest, as well as building a supportive and collaborative classroom atmosphere. The data obtained showed a very significant decrease in the number of students with low literacy levels from 42% to 19%, as well as an increase in the number of students with medium and high literacy levels. The conclusion of this study is that a reward-based classroom management method can significantly reduce literacy inequality among students. This method is recommended to be implemented routinely in the early grades of elementary schools, with training support for teachers and the provision of adequate literacy facilities.

Abstract

The Aim of research is knowing how readiness of school in lesson plan for deaf students in schools is outstanding in the face of covid 19. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research, which illustrates how school readiness in learning planning for deaf students in schools is outstanding in the face of covid- 19 pandemics. The subjects in the study were principals and physical education teachers. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data display and data verification. The results showed that the school's readiness in planning the learning for deaf students in the school was outstanding in the face of covid-19 pandemic in terms of preparation was good enough, while in the implementation and evaluation stage was relatively poor due to the onsanion of out-of-school learning by not doing face-to-face when teaching. In addition, the role of physical education teachers has not been able to performwell when in planning physical education learning during the covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Scratch as a website which could be utilized by beginners to create learning media such as educational game. This study aimed to improve students’ vocabulary at primary school using scratch-based educational game. The method of his study was SDLC waterfall model. Results of this study showed that the design of Alpha Word game was arranged in the stages of requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Alpha Word was a game that was designed to improve students’ vocabulary by utilizing attractive and simple visual.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning motivation of first-grade students in mathematics learning at SD Negeri VI Bumi Nabung Ilir. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study focused on motivation indicators, including enthusiasm, persistence, active participation, initiative, response to rewards, focus, and achievement orientation. The findings revealed that students’ motivation was in the moderate category, characterized by fluctuating enthusiasm, inconsistent persistence, and limited active participation. Independent learning initiative was relatively low, although positive responses to rewards, focus, and achievement goals were evident in some students. Motivation increased when teachers applied concrete media, varied methods, and engaging learning approaches. It can be concluded that students’ motivation needs to be enhanced through creative, interactive, and contextual strategies so that they become more active, confident, and develop a positive attitude toward mathematics from an early stage.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of ecosystem diorama media on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at SD Negeri 6 Bumi Nabung Ilir. The research problem arose from low student achievement due to the dominance of verbal methods and limited media variation. A quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed. The sample consisted of 22 students, with multiple-choice tests administered before and after learning using diorama media. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in learning outcomes, with the average score rising from 47.27 (pretest) to 84.55 (posttest). Students in the high category reached 50%, medium 45.45%, and low 4.55%. The t-test confirmed a significant effect of diorama media. It is concluded that ecosystem dioramas effectively improve concept understanding and student motivation in IPAS learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors causing writing difficulties in Indonesian language learning among second-grade students at SDN 6 Bumi Nabung Ilir. The research was motivated by low writing skills, reflected in difficulties forming letters, slow writing speed, and frequent errors in the use of capital and lowercase letters. A descriptive qualitative method was employed with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects were selected using purposive sampling. The findings revealed three main types of writing difficulties: forming letters, writing at appropriate speed, and inaccurate use of capital and lowercase letters. The causes stemmed from internal factors, including weak physical condition, underdeveloped fine motor skills, low motivation and interest, and individual talent differences; and external factors such as limited family support, teacher’s instructional methods, school environment, and the influence of social media. The study recommends more effective, varied, and engaging writing strategies for elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the early reading skills of first-grade students at SDN 2 Bumi Nabung Utara through the use of flashcard media. The research background is grounded in the importance of reading as a fundamental skill in elementary education. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the subjects included students, classroom teachers, and relevant learning documents. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that the reading process occurs gradually, starting from letter recognition to reading simple sentences. Students demonstrated varied abilities in recognizing letters, pronouncing sounds, and understanding the meaning of words or sentences. Their responses to flashcard use were positive, reflected in attention, interest, and active participation. Overall, flashcards effectively supported teacher–student interaction in early reading, providing a clear depiction of the actual condition of beginning literacy skills in elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade students at SDN 2 Bumi Nabung Utara through the use of a time board as a learning medium. The research background highlights students’ difficulties in understanding the concept of time, despite mathematics being a core subject for developing logical, analytical, and critical thinking skills. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The findings reveal that the time board significantly enhanced students’ focus, motivation, and active participation during learning activities. Students demonstrated improved skills in reading the clock, distinguishing between the hour and minute hands, and solving word problems related to time. Evaluation data also indicated better learning outcomes compared to before the implementation of the medium. Thus, the time board proves to be an effective and innovative tool for concretizing abstract concepts, aligning with student-centered principles emphasized in the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to the low reading ability of third-grade students at SDN 2 Bumi Nabung Utara. The research is based on the importance of reading skills as a fundamental foundation for students’ academic success in elementary school. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to capture the real conditions in the field. The findings reveal two main influencing factors: internal and external. Internal factors include low intelligence, lack of learning motivation, and limited reading interest. External factors consist of conventional teaching methods, insufficient parental support, limited learning facilities, and an unconducive learning environment. These factors interact and directly affect students’ literacy development. Therefore, improving reading skills requires collaboration among teachers, parents, and schools through innovative teaching methods, intensive guidance, and the provision of adequate reading facilities.
