Abstract

Receptive language in early childhood refers to the child's capacity to hear, understand, and focus on information or to know what a word means. However, many children still struggle with poorly developed receptive language skills. This study aims to ascertain how word tree play affects the development of early childhood receptive language. The word tree game serves as the medium. This study used a pre-experimental experimental method with a pretest-posttest design of one group without the presence of a control class. The subjects of the study were as many as 20 kindergarten children in Group A (aged 4-5 years). This study uses Purposive Sampling because there is only one class. "The word tree media passed the Pretest, Treatment, Posttest, Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and Hypothesis Test in this study. A sig value of <0.001 indicates that the final result is below the significance threshold of 0.05". Ho was rejected, while Ha was accepted. With this, it can be concluded that the game of Word Tree affects the development of early childhood receptive language.

Abstract

The pre-service teacher professional education program is organized with the support of academic systems, administration, and learning facilities designed to optimally meet the needs of students. This study aims to evaluate the level of student satisfaction with the learning process, academic administration services, and supporting facilities in the implementation of pre-service teacher professional education program. The method used was a quantitative descriptive survey involving 402 respondents. The instrument in the form of an online questionnaire was developed in an internal information system that contained 10 questions and one comment column. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative and thematic manner. The results showed that the learning aspect obtained a very high level of satisfaction, especially in the ability of lecturers to convey material and guide practice. Administrative services are considered efficient, but students propose improvements in the clarity of schedules and coordination between parties. Learning facilities including classrooms and technology access were considered adequate, although some records suggested technical improvements and the addition of supporting facilities. These findings underline that the quality of learning, service effectiveness, and availability of facilities need to be seen as a complementary unit in supporting the quality of pre-service teacher professional education program implementation. Students' perceptions of these three aspects provide a valuable reflective foundation in the process of evaluating and formulating program management policies in a sustainable manner. This study recommends the development of advanced information systems that are relevant to quality assurance mechanisms in a structured and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study examined perception of consequences of rape among tertiary institution students. A survey research design was adopted for this study. The population comprised all students in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. The sample consisted of two hundred and fifty (250) students randomly selected from the college. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data for the study. Reliability of the instrument was ascertained using Cronbach’s Alpha statistics which yielded a coefficient of 0.85. Data were analysed using mean, ranking and t-test. The results showed that consequences of rape are emotional disturbance, depressive symptoms, pregnancy and sleeping difficulties among others. It was also found that family type and marital status have significant influence on perception of consequences of rape among tertiary institution students (t = 7.192, p<0.05 and t = 3.185, p<0.05) respectively while gender and religion do not (t =5.183, p>0.05 and t = 6.030, p>0.05) respectively. It was therefore recommended that brief cognitive – behavioural programme should be administered shortly after rape to hasten the rate of improvement of psychological damage arising from trauma.

Abstract

21st-century skills that students need to have are creative thinking skills and digital literacy. Efforts to improve creative thinking skills and digital literacy can be done through the development of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media. Augmented Reality is a current technology that combines real objects (the physical world) with the digital world and will obtain clear and detailed information from objects that are made as if alive. In the field of education, the use of Augmented Reality can produce interesting learning media and facilitate the student learning process. Based on the results of observations conducted on students, the empowerment of creative thinking skills and digital literacy has not been optimally implemented. However, basically the school has recognized the importance of empowering creative thinking skills and digital literacy for students. Creative thinking skills and digital literacy that have not been optimally implemented are not supported by the availability of learning media, especially in science subjects that are in accordance with facts or real objects around them. Creative thinking skills and digital literacy are not optimal and there is no development of science learning media that activates students so that researchers conducted research to develop AR learning media. The purpose of this research is to develop AR-based science learning media to improve creative thinking skills and digital literacy of eighth-grade students. The research and development method is the Lee and Owens method. Results indicate AR learning media developed can improve creative thinking skills and digital literacy of grade 8 students.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the resilience of students who memorize the Qur'an at a state university in Malang, Indonesia, specifically in the Faculty of Education, based on the seven aspects of resilience identified by Reivich and Shatte. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with two students who memorize the Qur'an at the Faculty of Education and four supporting informants. The research subjects were selected purposively, consisting of: 1) students who memorize the Qur'an, 2) students enrolled at one of the state universities in Malang City and at the Faculty of Education, and 3) students in semesters 2-6, 4) Students who are still in the process of memorizing (not yet completed), and 5) Willing to be research subjects. The findings show that the resilience of students who memorize the Qur'an is formed through seven aspects of resilience identified by Reivich and Shatte, and is influenced by external factors, namely social support. This study recommends that the guidance and counseling center at the state university in Malang, provide individual or group counseling focused on the problems experienced by students who memorize the Qur'an. Then, hold workshops or seminars on strategies for maintaining resilience, stress management, and increasing motivation to memorize, and finally, create information services in the form of posters on maintaining resilience amid busy college activities and memorization.

Abstract

The teacher professional education program requires prospective physics teachers to demonstrate integrated academic, pedagogical, social, and personal competencies. However, current evaluation practices remain dominated by traditional multiple-choice tests that primarily assess lower-order cognitive skills and fail to capture critical thinking, problem-solving, and reflective abilities. This study aims to develop a problem-based professional competency test designed to predict the academic success of the teacher professional education program students in physics. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a modified Borg & Gall model, covering needs analysis, design, expert validation, pilot testing, revisions, and field trials. The participants were 57 physics students of the teacher professional education program on universitas in Malang at 2025. The initial instrument consisted of 35 items, which were refined to 25 valid items through rigorous analysis of validity, reliability, item difficulty, discrimination power, and distractor effectiveness. Findings revealed that all 25 items were valid, with an instrument reliability coefficient of 0.788. The distribution of item difficulty was dominated by easy to moderate levels, ensuring a balanced measurement range. These results highlight that a problem-based professional competency test can serve as a valid, reliable, and contextually relevant evaluation tool. It not only aligns with the demands of higher-order thinking but also reflects the pedagogical readiness required of future physics teachers.
