Abstract

Abstract: The internet of things, which was known in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, can make it easier for teenagers to get information and access the internet everywhere. Excessive use of the internet and always sacrificing important activities by teenagers can be called information technology addiction. Examples of information technology addictions that have a negative impact are aggressive and non-aggressive online game addiction. The negative impact of online game addiction for adolescents is the disruption of social development, social interaction, self-esteem, sympathy, affection for others, and the inability to control themselves. The study aimed to examine the description of social intelligence, love, and self-regulation in adolescents with aggressive and non-aggressive online game addiction. The research population of adolescents from junior high and high school education levels in Malang City. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey design. The instruments used were an online game addiction questionnaire, a social intelligence questionnaire, a love questionnaire, and a self-regulation questionnaire which was tested for validity and reliability using the Rasch Model. The results showed 1) the majority of adolescents experienced the more aggressive type of online game addiction than non-aggressive online games; 2) the majority of adolescents experiencing aggressive and non-aggressive types of online game addiction have low social intelligence, love, and self-regulation. Abstrak: Internet of things yang dikenal pada era revolusi industri 4.0 dapat mempermudah generasi remaja untuk mendapatkan informasi dan mengakses internet dimana-mana.Penggunaan internet yang berlebihan dan selalu mengorbankan kegiatan penting oleh remaja dapat disebut dengan adiksi teknologi informasi. Contoh adiksi teknologi informasi yang berdampak negatif yaitu adiksi game online jenis agresif dan non agresif. Dampak negatif dari adiksi game online bagi remaja adalah terganggunya pengembangan sosial, interaksi sosial, harga diri, simpati, kasih sayang kepada orang lain, dan tidak mampu mengontrol dirinya. Tujuam penelitian adalah untuk menelaah gambaran social intelligence, love, dan self-regulation pada remaja yang adiksi game online jenis agresif dan non agresif. Populasi penelitian remaja yang dari jenjang pendidikan SMP dan SMA di Kota Malang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuanititif dengan desain survei. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner adiksi game online, kuesioner social intelligence, kuesioner love, dan kuesioner self-regulation yang di uji valid dan realibitas menggunakan Rasch Model. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) sebagian besar remaja lebih banyak mengalami adiksi game online jenis agresif dibandingkan game online jenis non agresif; 2) sebagian besar remaja mengalami adiksi game online jenis agresif dan non agresif memiliki social intellogence, love, dan self-regulation rendah

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan pelik yang dialami oleh para konselor sekolah di lingkungan Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Probolinggo adalah rendahnya keterampilan konseling. Hal ini karena sebagian besar mereka tidak berlatarbelakang pendidikan sarjana bimbingan dan konseling. Selama ini, proses konseling dilakukan dengan cara yang lebih mirip dengan pemberian nasehat daripada konseling profesional. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, dilakukan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan esensial konseling untuk para konselor dimaksud. Melalui pelatihan ini, diharapkan agar para konselor dapat meningkatkan: (1) keterampilan mendengarkan secara aktif; (2) keterampilan mempengaruhi; dan (3) keterampilan pemberian bantuan pemecahan masalah melalui prosedur-prosedur konseling secara umum. Kegiatan inidilaksanakan dengan menggunakan pendekatan structured learning approach (SLA) dengan sistem In, On, dan In. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatanpengetahuan dan keterampilan konseling para peserta. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan skor-skor pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka ke arah yang lebih baik.Kata Kunci:keterampilan esensial konseling; bimbingan dan konseling; structured learning approachCounseling Essential Skills Training for School Counselors with a Structured Learning Approach ABSTRACT One of the most compliacated problems of school counselors in Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Probolinggo is the lack of their counseling skills. This is because their educational background is not related to guidance and counseling. Prior to this program, their counseling service was carried out in a way that could be called advice giving rather than professional counseling. Based on the situation, the program aims to improve the essential counseling skills of the counselors. The program is expected to improve the counselors’: (1) active listening skills; (2) influencing skills; and (3) skills in providing problem solving. The program is implemented with a structured learning approach (SLA) and In-On-In procedure. Overall, the entire program was carried out in three months. The result of the program is the improvement of the counselors’ understanding and skills in giving counseling service.Keywords: essential counseling skills; guidance and counseling; structured learning approach

Abstract

Abstract: Self-confidence is a mindset that feels confident in your abilities. This study aims to describe the level of self-confidence of class VII MTsN 01 Malang City students in blended learning. The research design uses a quantitative approach with a survey. The total population of class VII is 386 students and the number of samples is 270 students. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis which was presented in percentage form. The results showed that the overall level of self-confidence was in the high (17 percent), medium (83 percent), low (0 percent) category. The level of self-confidence based on gender, namely the female students in the high category (23 percent), medium (77 percent), low (0 percent). Meanwhile, the self-confidence level of male students is in the high category (14 percent), medium (86 percent), low (0 percent). The level of confidence in the aspect of is in the high category (12 percent), medium (87 percent), low (1 percent). On the optimistic aspect in the high category (29 percent), medium (70 percent), low (1 percent). In the objective aspect in the high category (64 percent), medium (36 percent), low (0 percent). In the consequent aspect in the high category (34 percent), medium (66 percent), low (0 percent). And on the rational and realistic aspects in the high category (22 percent), moderate (74 percent), low (4 percent). Based on these data, it is concluded that the level of self-confidence of class VII students in blended learning tends to be medium. Abstrak: Percaya diri ialah suatu pola pikir bahwa merasa yakin akan kemampuan diri. Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan tingkat percaya diri siswa kelas VII MTsN 01 Kota Malang dalam pembelajaran blended learning. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan survei. Jumlah populasi dari kelas VII sebanyak 386 siswa dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 270 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel ialah simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif yang disajikan dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat percaya diri secara keseluruhan dalam kategori tinggi (17 persen), sedang (83 persen), rendah (0 persen). Tingkat percaya diri berdasarkan jenis kelamin yaitu pada siswa perempuan dalam kategori tinggi (23 persen), sedang (77 persen), rendah (0 persen). Tingkat percaya diri siswa laki-laki dalam kategori tinggi (14 persen), sedang (86 persen), rendah (0 persen). Tingkat percaya diri pada aspek keyakinan diri dalam kategori tinggi (12 persen), sedang (87 persen), rendah (1 persen). Pada aspek optimis dalam kategori tinggi (29 persen), sedang (70 persen), rendah (1 persen). Pada aspek objektif dalam kategori tinggi (64 persen), sedang (36 persen), rendah (0 persen). Pada aspek konsekuen dalam kategori tinggi (34 persen), sedang (66 persen), rendah (0 persen). Dan pada aspek rasional dan realistis dalam kategori tinggi (22 persen), sedang (74 persen), rendah (4 persen). Berdasarkan data tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa tingkat percaya diri siswa kelas VII dalam pembelajaran blended learning cenderung sedang.

Abstract

This training was held with the aim of increasing the competency of counselors at SMK Negeri 5 Malang in using metaphor techniques in counseling. By increasing counselor competency in using metaphor techniques, it is hoped that counseling services at SMK Negeri 5 Malang can run better and more efficiently. This community service activity will be carried out in the form of training using the flipped classroom model and experiential learning. The flipped classroom model is used to help participants master the concepts and procedures of metaphor techniques in counseling. Meanwhile, experiential learning is used to improve participants' skills in applying metaphor techniques in counseling. This training was carried out by three lecturers at the Department of Guidance and Counseling, State University of Malang and attended by seven counselors at State Vocational School 5 Malang. The training was carried out in three sessions. The first session was held online asynchronously. In this session, participants are asked to study the material independently through the guides and training materials that have been provided. The second training session was carried out online synchronously. In this session, participants were invited to discuss and explore the concept of metaphor that had been studied independently in the first session. In the third session, participants were invited to practice knowledge about metaphors in counseling sessions. Measurements after the training activities showed that there was an increase in the participants' post-test scores compared to the pre-test scores. Based on interviews with participant representatives, it was also known that the participants had a positive impression of all training activities.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan guna mecari tahu hubungan self esteem dengan kecemasan sosial pengguna instagram. Pendekatan yang digunakan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 132 siswa yang berada di MAN 2 Malang Turen kelas XI secara keseluruhan. Sampel yang digunakan sejumlah 56 siswa, diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari dua skala yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Pertama yakni skala self esteem RSES (Rosernberg Self Esteem Scale) menurut teori Morris Rosernberg dan telah diadaptasi oleh peneliti guna disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan penelitian dengan jumlah item valid sebanyak 11 item dan item tidak valid sebanyak 5 item. Skala kedua yaitu skala kecemasan sosial pengguna instagram dari La Greca Lopez “Social anxiety scale for adolescents“(SAS-A) dan telah diadaptasi oleh peneliti untuk disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan penelitian dengan jumlah item valid sebanyak 24 item dan tidak ditemukan item tidak valid. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi product moment pearson guna menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian didapati bahwa adanya hubungan self esteem terhadap kecemasan sosial pengguna instagram pada siswa kelas XI di MAN 2 Malang Turen, dan kedua variabel berkorelasi sedang dengan bentuk korelasi negatif.

Abstract

Prokastinasi akademik yang terjadi di kalangan siswa SMA mengalami peningkatan seiring berlalunya pandemic Covid-19 dan meningkatnya perkembangan teknologi dan media sosial. Siswa lebih memilih menunda mengerjakan tugas dan mengalami kejenuhan dalam kegiatan belajar. Prokastinasi akademik menjadi masalah yang harus segera ditangani di sekolah, karena berdampak pada prestasi akademik siswa. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian yaitu untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru Bimbingan Konseling (BK) dalam melaksanakan konseling dengan pendekatan Suryomentaram, sehingga dapat  meningkatkan kualitas pelaksanaan konseling yang dilakukan Guru BK dalam membantu menyelesaikan masalah prokastinasi akademik siswa. Metode belajar melalui tindakan (learning by doing) menjadi alternatif yang akan membantu guru BK dalam mengembangkan keterampilan konseling dengan pendekatan Suryomentaram melalui penyampaian informasi dan implementasi konseling pada siswa yang mengalami prokastinasi akademik. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian adalah peningkatan pengetahuan guru BK dan peningkatan keterampilan guru BK di SMA dan SMK dalam melaksanakan proses konseling dengan menggunakan pandangan Suryomentaram dalam mengatasi prokastinasi akademik siswa. Kata kunci—Konseling Suryomentaram, Guru Bimbingan Konseling, Pendampingan Guru Abstract Academic procrastination that occurs among high school students has increased along with the passing of the Covid-19 pandemic and the increasing development of technology and social media. Students prefer to postpone doing assignments and experience boredom in learning activities. Academic procastination is a problem that must be addressed immediately in schools, because it has an impact on students’ academic achievement. The aim of the service activity is to increase the competency of Counseling Guidance (BK) teachers in carrying out counseling using the Suryomentaram approach, so that they can improve the quality of counseling carried out by BK teachers in helping to solve students’ academic procrastination problems. The learning by doing method is an alternative that will help guidance and counseling teachers in developing counseling skills using the Suryomentaram approach through conveying information and implementing counseling for students who experience academic procrastination. The results of the implementation of the service are an increase in the knowledge of guidance and counseling teachers and an increase in the skills of guidance and counseling teachers in high schools and vocational schools in carrying out the counseling process using Suryomentaram’s views in overcoming students' academic procrastination. Keywords—Suryomentaram Counseling, Teacher Guidance Counseling, Teacher Mentoring

Abstract

This study examines the significance of the paths: (1) from social support to career adaptability, (2) from work value to career adaptability, (3) from self-esteem to career adaptability, (4) from social support to career adaptability via self-esteem, and (5) from work value to career adaptability via self-esteem. A total of 265 students from the Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Malang who participated in the Asistensi Mengajar (AM) Program were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Four instruments were used to collect data: the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), the Work Value Inventory (WVI), the Self-Esteem Scale, and the Social Support Scale. The data were analysed using path analysis. The findings revealed that all paths have significance values below 0.05, indicating that all proposed paths are acceptable.  The analysis also shows that work value has a direct effect on self-esteem, with a coefficient of 0.160, while social support exhibits a more substantial direct effect on self-esteem, with a coefficient of 0.412. Self-esteem directly influences career adaptability with a coefficient of 0.435. Indirectly, work value impacts career adaptability via self-esteem with a coefficient of 0.070, and social support influences career adaptability via self-esteem with a coefficient of 0.179. The total effects of work value and social support on career adaptability via self-esteem were calculated to be 0.230 and 0.591, respectively. These results suggest that social support has a more pronounced total effect on career adaptability compared to work value, primarily due to its stronger direct effect on self-esteem. The study underscores the critical role of self-esteem as a mediator in enhancing career adaptability through social support and work values.

Abstract

Upaya peningkatan profesionalitas konselor terus dibutuhkan seiring perkembangan zaman. Salah satu keterampilan yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam pemberian layanan bimbingan dan konseling yaitu penguasaan empati. Tujuan dalam pengabdian ini berupa penguatan empati konselor sebagai upaya peningkatan profesionalitas melalui cased method. Metode pengabdian merujuk pada pendekatan Service Learning (SL) berbasis case method terdiri atas tiga tahap terdiri atas (1) Service Learning Planning, Analysis and Design; (2) Service Learning Delivery and Phase; (3) Service Learning Evaluation, Reflection and Monitoring. Kegiatan pengabdian diikuti oleh 25 perwakilan konselor yang berasal dari 25 SMP di Malang Raya (Kota Malang, Kabupaten Malang dan Kota Batu) dan dilaksanakan pada 9-31 Juli 2023. Secara keseluruhan terdapat peningkatan pemahaman (14%), sikap (21%) dan perilaku (23%) terkait empati dan implementasinya dalam layanan BK di sekolah. Secara keseluruhan empati konselor ditinjau dari tiga aspek mengalami peningkatan sebesar 19%. Hasil uji Wilcoxon signed rank test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada skor post-test dibandingkan dengan pre-test. Adapun dampak kegiatan ini terhadap konselor SMP Malang Raya, yakni meningkatkan pemahaman, sikap dan perilaku konselor terkait empati dan implementasinya dalam layanan bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah. Harapannya para peserta yang terdiri dari perwakilan konselor SMP Malang Raya dapat menyebarluaskan wawasan dan pengetahuan yang didapat kepada sejawat konselor lainnya. Tim pengabdian lanjutan dapat memberikan pelatihan-pelatihan lain untuk menunjang peningkatan profesionalitas konselor SMP di Malang Raya.

Abstract

The lack of empathy shown by counselors towards their clients is a significant concern, as it can create discomfort and make clients reluctant to talk. To enhance empathy skills, it is essential to consider cultural aspects, one of which is drawing inspiration from the virtues contained in Serat Wedharaga to enrich the empathy abilities of prospective counselors. This study used a qualitative approach with a hermeneutic design, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation steps. The findings from the analysis of Serat Wedharaga have the potential to significantly contribute to improving counselor empathy. The study identified values such as humility, honesty, a learning spirit, responsibility, polite language, and perseverance. The main aspects of empathy, including social interaction, cognitive behavior, and emotional identification, were integrable with these values. For example, the values of humility and honesty in Serat Wedharaga support good communication skills in terms of social interaction. Similarly, the text’s spirit of learning and responsibility supports the understanding and imagination of others' views and perspectives in cognitive behavior. Additionally, the values of polite language and perseverance in Serat Wedharaga support the ability to feel and understand others' emotions in terms of emotional identification. These findings provide an essential basis for developing aspects of empathy that can be integrated with the concept of empathy, which can later be applied to enrich the guidance and counseling curriculum, including adding an empathy development course for prospective counselors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the habitual tardiness behavior of vocational high school students. The research method used is a case study. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were five students who exhibited tardiness behavior over a one-month period. The research data consisted of descriptive narratives supported by field notes, including a summary book of tardiness and interviews with the subjects at the vocational school. Based on the data obtained, there are two main reasons for students' tardiness: waking up too late and being caught in traffic. This is supported by data analysis indicating that the level of tardiness among students at the vocational school is high. Despite being given several sanctions, students continue to be tardy. This habitual tardiness disrupts the teaching and learning process, which can significantly impact their academic performance. The recommendation based on these findings is the implementation of self-management techniques for students with habitual tardiness behavior.
