Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has brought significant changes in social interactions, but it has also raised new challenges, one of which is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying perpetrated through digital media with unique characteristics such as anonymity of the perpetrator, wide reach, and rapid spread of information, which makes it more difficult to control than conventional bullying. This study aims to explore the factors that contribute to cyberbullying behavior and its impact on adolescent mental health through a systematic review of the available literature. Using a qualitative approach based on a literature review, this study examines the social and psychological dynamics behind the phenomenon of cyberbullying as well as possible interventions. The results show that cyberbullying is influenced by individual, social and contextual factors, such as the aggressiveness of the perpetrator, social norms in the online environment, and lack of parental supervision. The impact is significant, including increased anxiety, depression and social isolation in victims. To address this problem, a comprehensive strategy is needed, including digital literacy education, strengthening anti-cyberbullying policies, and involving schools and parents in creating a safer digital environment. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of cyberbullying and mitigation measures that can be applied in the context of education and social policy. Further studies are needed to examine the effectiveness of long-term interventions and the role of social media platforms in preventing and addressing cyberbullying.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social role of the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Institution in the process of socializing children in the family environment. The focus of the research is to understand the extent to which PAUD Institutions affect children's socialization abilities, including interaction, communication, and self-adjustment in the family. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews with parents, PAUD teachers, and documentation studies within the PAUD Institute. The results of the study show that PAUD Institutions play a significant role in improving children's socialization skills, such as independence, cooperation, and communication skills. This research confirms that the success of children's socialization process is significantly influenced by the synergy between the role of the family (especially parents) and PAUD institutions. In this critical phase of early development, children need consistent role models and educational guidance to internalize social values appropriately. In addition, children's participation in PAUD activities also helps parents in understanding more effective parenting styles to support children's social development. The implication of this study is the importance of the role of PAUD Institutions as family partners in shaping children's character and social skills from an early age.

Abstract

Modernization and globalization have brought significant changes in the social life of the community, including in the aspect of language and communication. Sumbarang Village, Jatinegara Subdistrict, Tegal Regency, is one of the villages that still maintains its local wisdom, especially in the use of Javanese manners as a form of politeness in communication. However, the widespread influence of social media has caused a language shift that leads to a decrease in the use of Javanese manners, especially among the younger generation. This study aims to analyze how the use of social media affects changes in the communication patterns of the people of Sumbarang Village and the extent to which language shifts occur in everyday life. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth observation and interview methods, this study found that the use of social media accelerates the influx of informal language as well as new terms that replace traditional forms of communication. Children and teenagers are using Javanese manners less and less in their daily conversations, even with their parents. This is influenced by exposure to Indonesian and slang which are more dominant in digital interactions. This research shows that language shift is not just a linguistic phenomenon, but also reflects changes in cultural values and identity. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to revitalize Javanese manners through education and local communities so that language politeness remains part of the identity of the people of Sumbarang Village.

Abstract

The Tongkonan traditional house is a symbol of the culture and identity of the Toraja people, especially in Ke'te Kesu. Tongkonan architecture represents social and spiritual values and is influenced by natural physical conditions. This research aims to analyze how geographical aspects, such as undulating topography, geological conditions, and tropical climate, influence the design, layout, and materials of Tongkonan buildings. In addition, this research explores the philosophical meaning of Tongkonan architecture as a form of response to the physical environment. The method is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Secondary data were obtained from literature, research reports, and official sources. The results show that geographical conditions play a significant role in determining the orientation and structure of Tongkonan. The harmony between architecture and environment creates a functional and aesthetic building and reflects the Toraja people’s local wisdom. In addition, Tongkonan serves as a social, cultural, and spiritual center, preserving ancestral heritage and strengthening community ties. This study confirms that Tongkonan preservation is important for maintaining cultural identity and contributing to environmental sustainability and the welfare of the Ke'te Kesu community. Therefore, the conservation policy of traditional architecture should consider the geographical aspects and cultural values attached to Tongkonan.

Abstract

The infant burial tradition in Kalimbuang Bori’, Toraja, is an integral part of the local culture that is rich in symbolism, reflecting the community's beliefs about the cycle of life and death. This study aims to answer three main questions: first, the meaning and role of baby graves in the formation of social and spiritual values of the Kalimbuang Bori' community; second, the location selection and spatial interaction of the baby grave tradition with the natural environment that influences the community's culture; and third, the role of the younger generation of Toraja in preserving this tradition amidst the influence of modernization. Primary data collection methods were carried out through interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and direct observation in the field, while secondary data were obtained from scientific journal articles, map databases, and other research papers. The analysis method used is descriptive qualitative, which allows researchers to explore the meaning of this tradition in depth. This study adopts the Environmental Determinism Theory to explain how culture is shaped by the natural environment. The results show that the baby grave tradition reflects deep social and spiritual values and shows a close relationship between humans and nature. The role of the younger generation is very important in preserving this tradition so that cultural values remain alive amidst the challenges of modernization, and it is hoped that this research can provide deeper insight into the interaction between space and culture in the context of infant burials in Toraja.

Abstract

This study analyzes how gender equality policies are implemented in the Indonesian bureaucracy. Although policies such as Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) and Gender Responsive Budgeting (ARG) have been implemented, there are still gaps in implementation. The main obstacles to achieving gender equality in the bureaucracy include a patriarchal organizational culture, a lack of policy oversight mechanisms, and limited capacity building programs for women. This study uses a qualitative approach to explore the impact of the gender gap in the bureaucracy. Data was collected using a literature review method on studies that evaluated the implementation of gender equality policies in public administration in Indonesia. This study shows that the effectiveness of gender equality policies is strongly influenced by three main factors: organizational culture, policy supervision, and strengthening the capacity of women in the bureaucracy. An organizational culture that still maintains patriarchal norms creates barriers for women to gain equal access to promotions. Weak policy oversight leads to a lack of accountability in the implementation of gender equality policies. Meanwhile, strategies to strengthen women's capacity, such as mentorship and leadership training, are still not fully institutionalized in the bureaucratic system. Therefore, gender equality-oriented bureaucratic reform must include improvements in these three aspects to create more substantial changes.
