Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of an educational program based on traditional popular games on the development of cognitive-motor skills and deductive reasoning among primary school students in Nineveh Governorate. The research population consisted of fourth-grade students at Al-Hadhara School for Boys during the 2024–2025 academic year. A random sample of 80 students was selected, with Class C as the experimental group and Class D as the control group. Both groups were statistically equivalent and homogeneous across key variables to ensure experimental validity. The study employed an experimental method using an equivalent-groups design with pre- and post-testing over an eight-week intervention. The educational program included various traditional games, exercises, and activities derived from local popular games. The findings indicated that the program significantly enhanced the cognitive-motor skills and deductive reasoning of students in the experimental group, while the control group following the traditional curriculum showed no significant improvement. These results suggest that structured programs incorporating culturally relevant popular games can effectively promote both motor and cognitive development in primary school children.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat konsentrasi dengan ketepatan smash pada atlet klub Bola Voli Bersaudara Jambi, sekaligus menekankan peran aspek psikologis terhadap teknik performa atlet tingkat klub. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 50 atlet, dengan 30 atlet dipilih sebagai sampel melalui teknik purposive sampling. Tingkat konsentrasi diukur menggunakan Grid Concentration Test, sedangkan ketepatan smash diukur dengan AAHPER Smash Accuracy Test. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial, termasuk uji normalitas, uji linearitas, korelasi Pearson Product Moment, dan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan data terdistribusi normal dan hubungan antara kedua variabel bersifat linear. Koefisien korelasi sebesar r = 0,765 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (p < 0,05) menunjukkan hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan kategori kuat antara konsentrasi dan ketepatan smash. Analisis regresi linier sederhana menghasilkan persamaan Y = 10,019 + 0,665X dengan R² sebesar 0,585, yang berarti tingkat konsentrasi berkontribusi 58,5% terhadap ketepatan smash, sedangkan 41,5% dipengaruhi faktor lain di luar penelitian. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa aspek psikologis memiliki peran penting dalam keberhasilan smash, sehingga pelatih perlu memasukkan latihan konsentrasi, fokus, dan simulasi pertandingan ke dalam program latihan untuk meningkatkan akurasi dan performa atlet.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keterampilan teknik tendangan lurus pada pesilat pemula di Perguruan Silat Walet Puti Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan kondisi keterampilan teknik yang dimiliki oleh pesilat pemula. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pesilat pemula yang aktif mengikuti latihan di Perguruan Silat Walet Puti Kota Jambi yang berjumlah 13 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling sehingga seluruh populasi dijadikan sebagai sampel penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes keterampilan teknik tendangan lurus yang dinilai berdasarkan sepuluh indikator gerakan mulai dari sikap awal, pelaksanaan tendangan, hingga kembali ke sikap pasang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan observasi langsung terhadap pelaksanaan teknik tendangan lurus oleh pesilat. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dalam bentuk skor, persentase, dan kategori penilaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pesilat pemula berada pada kategori cukup dengan persentase sebesar 69% atau sebanyak 9 orang, sedangkan 31% atau 4 orang berada pada kategori baik. Tidak terdapat pesilat yang berada pada kategori sangat baik, kurang, maupun sangat kurang. Nilai rata-rata keterampilan teknik tendangan lurus yang diperoleh adalah 6,23 yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan teknik pesilat pemula masih berada pada tingkat menengah. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan teknik tendangan lurus pesilat pemula di Perguruan Silat Walet Puti Kota Jambi masih perlu ditingkatkan melalui latihan yang lebih terstruktur, sistematis, dan berkelanjutan agar penguasaan teknik dapat berkembang secara optimal.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the extent to which high-impact teaching practices are implemented in physical education lessons and to assess the level of effective student engagement during these lessons, as well as to analyze the relationship between these practices and student participation. The research employed a descriptive method using survey and correlational approaches. The population consisted of physical education teachers in middle schools under the Nineveh Education Directorate, totaling 495 teachers across 324 schools. A sample of 217 teachers was selected and divided into three groups: an exploratory sample of 7 teachers, a preparation sample of 126 teachers, and a final application sample of 84 teachers. Data were collected using two questionnaires developed by the researcher, each consisting of 15 items. The first questionnaire measured the level of implementation of high-impact teaching practices in physical education lessons, while the second assessed the effectiveness of student engagement during the lessons. The collected data were analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques. The results indicated that the implementation of high-impact teaching practices in physical education lessons was at a moderate level. Similarly, the level of student engagement during physical education lessons was also found to be moderate according to teachers’ perspectives. In conclusion, the study highlights the need to improve the application of high-impact teaching practices to enhance effective student participation in physical education learning.

Abstract

The development of biomotor components, particularly speed and endurance, plays a crucial role in optimizing athletic performance during adolescence. This study aimed to examine the levels of speed and endurance among female adolescent athletes in the athletics discipline in East Java. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed to provide an empirical overview of these biomotor capacities. The participants consisted of 18 female athletes aged 15–16 years selected from the East Java athletics training program. Speed performance was assessed using a 30-meter sprint test, while endurance capacity was measured through the multistage fitness test to estimate maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂max). The findings revealed that the athletes demonstrated a very good level of speed with an average sprint time of 4.43 seconds, whereas endurance performance was categorized as good, with a mean estimated VO₂max of 36.58 ml/kg/min. These results indicate that although sprint capacity among the athletes is highly developed, endurance capacity remains relatively moderate and may require further training optimization. The findings provide important empirical insights for coaches and sport scientists in designing evidence-based training programs aimed at balancing the development of biomotor components in adolescent athletes
