Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of teachers in forming values ​​in Islamic education in elementary schools using Peter L. Berger's social construction theory. This research uses the literature study method. Social construction theory makes Islamic education not only carry an academic dimension but also a means of forming character, morals, norms, and educational values ​​for students. Teachers are the main agents in the educational environment, having a very important role in shaping values ​​in the social construction of Islamic education. The role of teachers as educators is very influential in optimizing the competencies possessed by students so that they are ready and able to interact and adapt in real life. The teacher's role is not only limited to delivering material in class based on learning objectives but has a much greater moral responsibility, namely carrying out the process of internalizing values ​​and norms to students, to shape students' character based on applicable values ​​and norms

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of authentic assessment in the context of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, focusing on the obstacles faced by teachers and practical recommendations to overcome them. In the background of the study, it was stated that authentic assessment is a widely discussed approach to comprehensively assess students' abilities through real-life relevant tasks. However, its implementation in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah faces various obstacles, including lack of teacher understanding and skills and limited resources and institutional support. The research methodology uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at MIN 2 OKU TIMUR. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and participant observation in the classroom. The main results indicate structural, pedagogical, and technical obstacles in the implementation of authentic assessment, such as lack of institutional support, limited teacher knowledge and skills, and technological obstacles. Practical recommendations are formulated to overcome these obstacles, including increasing institutional support through facilities and intensive training for teachers, developing teacher skills through workshops and mentoring, and technical solutions such as providing adequate technology and developing a digital assessment system. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of institutional support and teacher skill development in enhancing the effectiveness of authentic assessment in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, while emphasizing the need for further investigation in a broader context and research on the use of technology in assessment.

Abstract

This research delves into the multifaceted realm of student learning styleswithin the assessment framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. Employing aqualitative approach through an extensive review of academic literature, itmeticulously examines a vast array of scholarly journals and books to unravela comprehensive understanding of learning styles and their profoundimplications for assessment practices. The meticulous analysis unveils threeprominent categories of learning styles: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Thesestyles are not merely static traits but rather dynamic constructs shaped by acomplex interplay of internal factors, such as individual personalitycharacteristics, and external influences, including the ever-evolving modernera. As a result, many contemporary students exhibit a combination of learningstyles, defying rigid categorization into a single style. The MerdekaCurriculum, with its inherent flexibility, empowers educators to embark on ajourney of mapping the diverse learning styles of their students. This valuableinformation is then strategically transformed into a powerful tool for designingassessments that resonate with the unique strengths and preferences of eachlearner. By tailoring assessments to align with a student's preferred learningstyle, educators can foster a more inclusive and supportive learningenvironment, ultimately propelling each student towards achieving thedesignated learning objectives. This research serves as a valuable contributionto the evolving landscape of understanding learner styles and their profoundimplications for assessment practices in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum. Byrecognizing the multifaceted nature of learning styles and the importance ofcatering to learner diversity, educators can embark on a transformative journeytowards designing assessments that empower each student to reach their fullpotential and achieve the desired learning outcomes.

Abstract

The low science literacy ability for Central Java Province is certainly related to educational institutions that produce prospective science teachers. The better and more mature the preparations are made, the more professional the graduates are produced. The purpose of this study is to reveal the phenomenon that occurs in an Islamic university in Surakarta as one of the producers of prospective MI teachers. The aspects measured include the essence of science and how to learn science. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics. The findings of this research are distinguished from three major challenges, namely (1) Specialization in the scientific field starts from the selection of science courses that are less accommodating to pay attention to the tendency of interest of prospective MI teachers, (2) the determination of courses should refer to the acquisition of science literacy assessments nationally and the rankings of PISA and TIMSS Indonesia, and (3) It is necessary to provide more intensive debriefing to prospective MI teachers about professionalism competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic role of Civic Education (Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan or PKn) in shaping students’ character at the elementary school level, with a particular focus on instilling anti-bullying values, strengthening interpersonal relationships, and preventing as well as intervening in bullying behavior. The research addresses the growing concern over school bullying, which negatively affects students’ emotional well-being and social development. By exploring how PKn can serve as a medium for moral and ethical education, this study contributes to both the theoretical understanding and practical implementation of character education in elementary schools. The research was conducted at SDN Kowangbinagun using a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of school activities. The collected data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. This method ensured that the findings were systematically derived from field data. The study found that PKn plays a crucial role in promoting moral values such as empathy, responsibility, tolerance, and justice among students. Through interactive teaching methods, including group discussions, reflection activities, and collaborative tasks, students developed improved interpersonal skills, including assertive communication and conflict resolution. PKn also effectively functioned as a preventive and intervention tool against bullying, as teachers actively provided awareness, corrected negative behaviors, and fostered a safe and supportive school environment. This study concludes that PKn serves as an effective instrument in cultivating a respectful, empathetic, and cooperative school culture, which ultimately reduces bullying incidents. Future research may explore the integration of digital tools in PKn learning to enhance character education outcomes.

Abstract

The learning process in higher education, particularly in education study programs, is not only oriented towards knowledge transfer, but rather emphasizes the development of prospective teachers' pedagogical capacity in designing and delivering contextual learning materials. The main challenge that often arises, especially among first-semester students, is the low level of active engagement in the learning process due to the still dominant one-way learning approach. Through mixed methods research (qualitative-quantitative) that combines observation, interviews, document analysis, and comprehension tests, it was found that the implementation of Discovery Learning succeeded in significantly increasing both student engagement and their conceptual understanding. Quantitative data showed an average post-test score of 93.13, while qualitative findings revealed the development of students' creative pedagogical abilities in designing innovative learning strategies such as educational songs, puzzle games for Roman numerals, and origami media for fractions. These results prove that the student-centered approach through Discovery Learning not only addresses engagement issues but also builds a more meaningful and applicable understanding of mathematics for prospective teachers and elementary school students.
