Abstract

Abstract

The issue of clean water availability in coastal areas remains a serious challenge, particularly due to increasing seawater intrusion, which causes groundwater to become brackish and unfit for consumption. This condition is also experienced by the community in Warmon Kokoda Village, Sorong Regency, who have long depended on well water sources with high salinity levels. This community service activity aimed to introduce and train residents in the use of single-roof solar desalination technology with a solar-powered cooling fan as an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solution for brackish water purification. The approach used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), in which the community was actively involved in socialization, learning, and hands-on practice in the manufacture and operation of the device. The results of this activity showed an increase in community knowledge about the working principles and benefits of solar desalination technology, as evidenced by the community's ability to conduct trials on the device. Technical tests showed that the device was able to reduce the salinity of brackish water from 5% to 0%, producing water suitable for consumption according to WHO standards, with good thermal efficiency for the household category. This activity had a significant impact in providing access to safe and potable water for the local community, as well as increasing independence in water resource management.

Abstract

This community service activity highlights the importance of synergy between the music team and song leaders (SL) in worship services at HKBP Immanuel Patumbak Church. Music plays a central role not only as a complement to liturgy, but also as a means of expressing faith and uniting the congregation in praise to God. However, there is still a gap between church music theory and practice, where coordination between music ministers is often ineffective and theological understanding of the role of music in worship is still limited. Based on these conditions, this activity aims to empower music ministers and SLs to improve coordination, deepen theological understanding, and strengthen spiritual motivation in ministry. The approach used is participatory and reflective, with methods including lectures, technical training, worship simulations, and joint reflection. The social engineering strategy is carried out through the formation of new patterns of cooperation that are more synergistic and communicative among ministry team members. The activity was held on August 18, 2025, involving 50 participants consisting of musicians, song leaders, and congregants. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the participants' coordination skills, theological awareness, and enthusiasm for ministry. In addition, a sense of togetherness was created that strengthened the quality of worship and music ministry in the church. In conclusion, this service successfully bridged the gap between church music theory and practice and became an effective empowerment model in building synergy in church music ministry based on spirituality and professionalism.

Abstract

The low level of vocal technique and choral harmony skills among students at Bahorok 1 Public High School made this community service activity urgent. Students had difficulty dividing their voices into soprano, alto, tenor, and bass (SATB), maintaining pitch accuracy, and understanding intervals, resulting in a lack of harmony. This activity aims to improve vocal competence, understanding of harmonization, and build cooperation and confidence among students through choir training. The implementation methods include initial observation, determining voice groups based on vocal characteristics, basic vocal technique training, training for each voice group using the drill method, and gradually combining all voices with guidance and guitar accompaniment. The results of the activity showed an improvement in students' ability to maintain pitch accuracy, understand SATB voice divisions, and produce more harmonious harmonization. In addition, students showed greater enthusiasm and confidence after being able to perform songs together. The impact of this activity not only improved musical skills but also strengthened discipline, concentration, and cooperation among students. Thus, choir training is effective as an effort to strengthen music arts capacity in schools and is recommended to be implemented continuously in extracurricular programs.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in seafood processing play an important role in strengthening the economy of coastal communities. However, issues related to packaging quality and the use of digital marketing remain obstacles to improving product competitiveness. The Terasi Cap 2 Udang MSME, located in Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, shows a gap between the theoretical concept of the importance of packaging and digital promotion and the actual conditions in the field, where product packaging is not yet optimal and digital promotional content is still simple. This community service activity aims to optimize packaging quality and strengthen the digital marketing strategy of MSMEs through a participatory assistance approach. The method of implementation consists of three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage is carried out through field observations, interviews, and business problem analysis. The implementation stage was carried out through mentoring on product packaging aspects and the development of digital promotional content in the form of product videos. The evaluation stage was carried out by observing changes in packaging quality, packaging process efficiency, and consumer responses to digital promotions carried out through social media. The results of the activities show an increase in the neatness and uniformity of product packaging, an increase in partners' understanding of digital marketing, and increased consumer attention to products. Overall, these mentoring activities have had a positive impact on increasing product competitiveness and supporting the sustainability of MSME businesses in coastal areas.

Abstract

Fire disasters constitute one of the most serious threats that can occur within school environments, including at the Early Childhood Education (ECE) level. However, fire disaster mitigation programs specifically designed for young children remain considerably limited, particularly those integrating innovative learning approaches. This gap underscores the necessity for educational interventions aligned with the cognitive and psychomotor developmental stages of early childhood. In response, this community service program aimed to cultivate safety awareness and fundamental fire disaster mitigation skills among ECE students through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)-based training. The implementation method employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach combined with interactive training and mentoring, encompassing the dissemination of fire safety materials, evacuation drills, and hands-on activities involving the construction of simple teaching aids representing firefighting equipment used to extinguish fires. This program was conducted at TKIT AR RAUDLOH, Kuningan Regency, involving 30 students from Groups A and B along with 4 accompanying teachers. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement in students' understanding of fire hazards, their ability to perform basic evacuation procedures, and high levels of enthusiasm in STEM-based activities. In conclusion, STEM-based fire disaster mitigation training serves as an effective educational solution for fostering safety awareness from an early age and can be sustainably implemented within ECE settings.

Abstract

Yellowtail fusilier, or Caesio cuning, is a type of marine fish commonly found in Indonesian waters. This fish is known for its distinctive bright yellow tail fin, bluish upper body, and white to pink underside and belly. Fish meatballs are typically prepared using ingredients such as fish meat, wheat flour, starch, chicken eggs, and several other spices. Furthermore, because meatballs are processed product with a high nutritional and water content, they have a relatively short shelf life, lasting only 12 hours to 1 day at room temperature. The purpose of this community service is to educate the community of Langagedha 1 Village on how to manage fish products. This is done to provide knowledge to the community to innovate and implement more modern fish management. Local villagers also have the opportunity to become entrepreneurs using fish as the main ingredient to increase their income. The methods used include discussion, socialization, and hands-on practice. The results of this activity showed that the community of Langagedha 1 Village was able to participate well and was very enthusiastic, thus mastering the process of making Yellowtail fusilier meatballs. Processing Yellowtail fusilier into meatballs can be a viable option, motivating people to start businesses. Yellowtail fusilier meatballs are easy to make because the raw materials are readily available and inexpensive.
