Abstract

This study aims to reveal the effectiveness of a SSI-based biology learning website in the topic of digestive system on students’ argumentation skill. This was a quasi-experimental study that used a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The population of the study was students of class 11 MIPA program at Sedayu 1 State Senior High School in Bantul. Two classes were selected by purposive sampling technique, which MIPA 3 was assigned as the experimental class and MIPA 4 as the control class. Data of students’ argumentation skill were collected using an essay test instrument, and analized statistically using the Wilcoxon as well as the Mann-Whitney test assisted by SPSS and also by comparing the effect size. The results showed that the application of the SSI-based biology learning website was effective in improving students' argumentation skills with the Wilcoxon test results a significance value of 0.001 and supported by an effect size value of 1.33 and potentially be further implemented as supporting learning material for developing students’ argumentation skills particularly in the topic of digestive system. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas website pembelajaran biologi berbasis SSI materi sistem pencernaan terhadap keterampilan argumentasi peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen menggunakan pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas 11 MIPA di SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu, Bantul. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, kelas 11 MIPA 3 terpilih sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas 11 MIPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data keterampilan argumentasi peserta didik dikumpulkan melalui instrumen tes berbentuk esai dan dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan uji Mann-Whitney, serta membandingkan nilai effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan website pembelajaran biologi berbasis SSI efektif meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi peserta didik dengan uji Wilcoxon dihasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,001 dan didukung dengan nilai effect size sebesar 1.33 dan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai alternatif paket pembelajaran biologi untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berargumentasi pada materi sistem pencernaan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' motivation towards learning Biology in the 11th grade at SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru for the 2021/2022 academic year. This research employs a quantitative approach using survey methods. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 158 11th-grade students, interviews with Biology teachers, and documentation. The questionnaire used consists of 35 statements. The results showed that students' motivation based on the will and desire to succeed reached 66.09%. In terms of future hopes and aspirations, the percentage was 69.24%. For interest, the percentage was 56.95%. Persistence in facing tasks reached 80.79%. Appreciation in learning received a percentage of 57.46%. Engaging activities in learning received a percentage of 63.28%. A conducive learning environment, allowing students to learn well, received a percentage of 68.72%. The drive and need for learning received a percentage of 66.92%. Overall, students' motivation in learning Biology in the 11th grade at SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru for the 2021/2022 academic year falls into the high category with an average score of 66.18%. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran Biologi di kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru pada Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket yang disebarkan kepada 158 peserta didik kelas XI, wawancara dengan guru Biologi, dan dokumentasi. Angket yang digunakan terdiri dari 35 item pernyataan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi peserta didik berdasarkan kemauan dan keinginan untuk berhasil mencapai 66,09%. Pada aspek harapan dan cita-cita masa depan, persentasenya 69,24%. Untuk minat, persentasenya 56,95%. Ketekunan dalam menghadapi tugas mencapai 80,79%. Penghargaan dalam belajar memperoleh persentase 57,46%. Kegiatan yang menarik dalam belajar memperoleh persentase 63,28%. Lingkungan belajar yang kondusif sehingga memungkinkan peserta didik belajar dengan baik memperoleh persentase 68,72%. Dorongan dan kebutuhan dalam belajar memperoleh persentase 66,92%. Secara keseluruhan, motivasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Biologi di kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 66,18%.

Abstract

Habaring Hurung Subdistrict, located in the Bukit Batu district of Palangka Raya City, is one of the tomato suppliers for the capital region, with a production range of 2,336 to 2,481. Fully ripe tomatoes tend to spoil quickly, with a relatively short storage life of 3-4 days. One of the ways tomatoes are utilized is by processing them into date tomatoes, a sweet snack made from tomatoes that are processed to resemble dates in taste and shape. This is done to enhance the appeal of tomato processing to the community. The research design used in this study is a Randomized Block Design, with the variables being tested as sugar composition and drying time, based on the preference level of date tomatoes. The preference level of date tomatoes was evaluated using hedonic tests, specifically focusing on taste. The panelists involved in the preference evaluation were 15 individuals from the general public and students. Data analysis was conducted using Duncan's Multivariate Range Test (DMRT). The results of the hedonic tests showed that sugar compositions of 600-800 grams, in terms of color, taste, and texture, were highly preferred (≤ 80%) by the panelists, but the effect was not statistically significant. On the other hand, drying times of 3-6 days, in terms of color, taste, and texture, were highly preferred (≥ 60%) and had a significant impact.

Abstract

Improving learning outcomes is expected in this study with the Make A Match. The method chosen is classroom action research (CAR). That lesson purpose to improve the results of learning about environmental pollution. Students of VII B class have twelve boys and seven girls are the subject of research. Interviews, observations and tests were worn in the aggregation process. Quantitative descriptive data was utilized in the data analysis process. There was a classical average pre-cluster percentage of 36.84%. In the first semester, the classical average percentile data was 53.13% out of 19 students who were completed 10 and 9 were not complete, and in the second semester those who passed reached 76.31%, namely 15 students, 4 of whom were not complete, it can be said this research was successfully applied. Abstrak. Meningkatnya hasil belajar diharapkan pada penelitian ini dengan model Make A Match. Metode yang dipilih yaitu Classroom Action Research (CAR). Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran tentang pencemaran lingkungan. Siswa kelas VII B yang memiliki dua belas laki-laki dan tujuh perempuan adalah subjek penelitian. Wawancara, observasi dan tes digunakan dalam proses pengumpulan data. Data deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan dalam proses analisis data. Terdapat rata-rata klasikal persentase prasiklus sebesar 36,84%. Pada semester pertama data persentil rata-rata klasikal sebesar 53,13% dari 19 siswa yang tuntas 10 dan 9 tidak tuntas, dan pada semester kedua yang lulus mencapai 76,31% yaitu 15 siswa, 4 diantarnya belum tuntas. Dapat dikatakan penelitian ini berhasil diterapkan .

Abstract

This research aims to know the result of the feasibility and readability of the booklet on biodiversity material for class X SLTA based on the diversity of pterygota in Science Park Desa Air Sempiang Bengkulu. This research is research and development (R&D) with 4D Thiagarajan (1974) model that is limited to third stage. The research subjects were material expert, media expert, practitioner and students. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, quisioners and literature review. The results of the validation of material expert obtain a percentage of 100% with very feasible criteria, 91,6% from media expert with very feasible criteria and 94,2% from expert practicioner with very feasible criteria. The result of students readability test obtained a score of 85% with very good criteria. Based on these result, the booklet can be used as a teaching material of biodiversity for class X SLTA. Abstract

This research aims to develop Problem Based Learning based E-modules to train students' critical thinking skills that are valid, practical and effective. The method used in this research is research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The techniques used were indirect communication techniques and measurement. Data collection tools used validation sheets, questionnaires and tests. The research subjects were class XI SMAN 1 Samalanta. Data analysis techniques of validity and practicality based on validation sheets and questionnaire sheets, while effectiveness based on N-gain values of pre-test and post-test. The results showed that: 1) validity obtained a percentage of 86% with valid criteria 2) practicality obtained a percentage of 81.06% with practical criteria 3) effectiveness obtained an N-gain value of 0.5 with moderate criteria. Conclusion: E-modules based on Problem Based Learning are classified as valid, practical and effective for use in the learning process in improving students' critical thinking skills. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-modul berbasis Problem Based Learning untuk melatih kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Desing, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Teknik yang digunakan teknik komunikasi tidak langsung dan pengukuran. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar validasi, angket dan tes. Subjek penelitian kelas XI SMAN 1 Samalanta. Teknik analisis data kevalidan dan kepraktisan berdasarkan lembar validasi dan lembar angket, sedangkan keefektifan berdasarkan nilai nilai N-gain pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kevalidan memperoleh presentase sebesar 86% dengan kriteria valid 2) kepraktisan memperoleh presentase sebesar 81,06% dengan kriteria praktis 3) keefektifan memperoleh nilai N-gain sebesar 0,5 dengan kriteria sedang. Kesimpulan: E-modul berbasis Problem Based Learning yaitu sudah tergolong valid,  praktis dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

There are many incidents where students' understanding of biology subject matter is very poor. Looking at the statement above, there are many learning methods that can be applied to improve students' learning outcomes in the classroom. One of them is the application of the biological song method, which can be abbreviated as biosong. The aim of this research is to find out whether the Biosong learning method can have an effect on improving student learning outcomes in plant tissue material. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and interviews, as well as posttest learning outcomes tests and documentation techniques. Data analysis in this research is: descriptive analysis and hypothesis analysis. In the experimental class Kolmogorov Smirnov calculation p-value = 0.002 < 0.05 so the data is not normally distributed and Shapiro-Wilk p-value = 0.008 < 0.05 so the data is not normally distributed, and the hypothesis test data obtained Sig 0.000 so the hypothesis is accepted. There is a significant influence between the learning outcomes of students who use the biosong learning method and the learning outcomes of students who use the biosong method. Abstrak. Banyak sekali kejadian dimana pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pelajaran biologi sangat kurang. Melihat pernyataan di atas banyak metode pembelajaran yang mampu diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan hasil belajar siswa di dalam kelas. Salah satunya adalah penerapan metode lagu biologi (Biology Song) yang dapat disingkat dengan nama biosong. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah metode pembelajaran Biosong dapat berpengaruh dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Materi Jaringan Tumbuhan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara, dan juga tes hasil belajar pemberian posttest lalu teknik dokumentasi. Analisis data pada penelitian ini yaitu: analisis deskriptif dan analisis hipotesis. Pada kelas eksperimen perhitungan kolmogorov smirnov p-value = 0,002 < 0,05 sehingga data berdistribusi tidak normal dan shapiro-Wilk p-value = 0,008 < 0,05 sehingga data berdistribusi tidak normal, dan data uji hipotesis diperoleh Sig 0,000 maka hipotesis diterima. terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran biosong dengan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode biosong.

Abstract

The learning that occurs at SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo is still not student-centered so that many students are still passive when learning takes place. Therefore, it is necessary to apply a learning model that can increase student learning activities and student participation in learning, one of which is the STAD cooperative learning model. This research aims to determine the influence of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model on the activities and science learning outcomes of Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo. The type of research used in this research is Quasy Experimental research. The total population in this study was 48 class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo. The sample used in this research consisted of two classes, namely: experimental class (Class VIII A with 24 students), and control class (Class VIII B with 24 students). With a Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The instrument used was an observation sheet on the implementation of syntax and student learning activities. The research results showed that, from 48 class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo for learning activities, the average score for the experimental class was 65.05 in the fair category, while for the control class it was 53.24 in the not good category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model can influence science learning activities and outcomes at SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo.

Abstract

The coordination system is one of the biology materials that students find difficult to remember (retention) let alone understand the concept because many have scientific terms. This study aims to determine the effect of student retention on biology learning on nervous system material through the application of Direct Instruction (DI) and Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R). The method used is a Quasi-Experimental Design category Posttest Group Design. Data was collected through 2 stages of testing. The first stage is short-term retention in the form of final test 1 taken after the learning process, then the second stage (long-term retention) through the 2nd final test is taken 3 weeks after final test 1. The results show that the percentage of long-term retention short students use DI of 62.5% and SQ3R of 78.125%, which means that both are categorized very well. The same is true for the category of students' long-term retention percentage when using DI of 56.25% and SQ3R of 68.75% which are also classified as very good categories. The use of DI and SQ3R in biology learning can be said to have a positive effect, but student retention is more enhanced through SQ3R learning than the application of DI. Abstrak. Sistem koordinasi merupakan salah satu materi biologi yang dianggap sulit oleh siswa untuk diingat (retensi) apalagi memahami konsepnya karena banyak memiliki istilah ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh retensi siswa terhadap pembelajaran biologi pada materi sistem koordinasi melalui penerapan Direct Instruction (DI) dan Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R). Metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Design kategori Postest Group Design. Data dikumpulkan melalui 2 tahapan tes. Tahap pertama merupakan retensi jangka pendek berupa tes akhir 1 diambil setelah proses pembelajaran, kemudian tahap kedua (retensi jangka panjang) melalui tes akhir ke 2 diambil 3 minggu setelah tes akhir 1. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa persentase retensi jangka pendek siswa menggunakan DI sebesar 62,5% dan SQ3R sebesar 78,125% yang artinya keduanya terkategori sangat baik. Hal yang sama pada kategori persentase retensi jangka panjang siswa saat menggunakan DI sebesar 56,25% dan SQ3R sebesar 68,75% yang juga tergolong kategori sangat baik. Penggunaan DI dan SQ3R dalam pembelajaran biologi dapat dikatakan memiliki efek positif, namun retensi siswa lebih ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran SQ3R daripada penerapan DI.
