Abstract

This study examines teachers' strategies for implementing the values of the Kerigan tradition in strengthening students' character at MTs Plus Al-Jawami Cilacap in 2025. The research aims to identify the strategies employed by teachers, explore the character values embedded in the Kerigan tradition, and analyze their contribution to students' character development. This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers, school leaders, and students, as well as documentation. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that teachers integrate the values of the Kerigan tradition into classroom learning, religious activities, and school culture through modeling, habituation, guidance, and reflective evaluation. The tradition promotes essential character values, including cooperation, responsibility, discipline, respect, social awareness, and religious commitment. The implementation of these values has positively influenced students' attitudes and behaviors, as reflected in their increased participation in collaborative activities, improved discipline, and stronger sense of responsibility toward the school community. The study concludes that integrating local cultural traditions into educational practices provides an effective approach to character education by reinforcing moral values while preserving local cultural heritage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the hadith thought of Syekh Nuruddin Marbu Al-Makki Al-Banjari and Ustadz Yazid bin Abdul Qadir Jawas from methodological, epistemological, and practical perspectives. Both scholars represent contemporary Indonesian hadith scholars with different intellectual backgrounds and scientific orientations, yet both are highly influential in Indonesian hadith discourse. Sheikh Nuruddin Marbu represents the Haramain scholarly tradition rooted in the classical Nusantara scholarly chain of transmission (sanad), while Ustadz Yazid Jawas represents the Salafi orientation based on the methodology of contemporary Saudi Arabian scholars. This study employs a comparative-descriptive method, with critical discourse analysis applied to the primary works of both scholars. The results show fundamental differences in: (1) the epistemology of hadith acceptance, where Sheikh Nuruddin emphasizes sanad transmission and scholarly ijazah, while Ustadz Yazid focuses on matn authenticity based on Wahabi-Salafi jarh wa ta'dil criteria; (2) hadith criticism methodology, where Sheikh Nuruddin adopts an eclectic approach integrating classical and contemporary scholarly perspectives, while Ustadz Yazid tends to selectively follow scholars aligned with the Salafi orientation; (3) the application of hadith in Indonesian socio-religious contexts, where Sheikh Nuruddin is more accommodative toward local traditions, while Ustadz Yazid is more textualist-purificatory. This research contributes by filling the gap in comparative hadith research between traditionalist and Salafi Indonesian scholars, a topic that has not been previously studied with these specific figures.

Abstract

Happiness can provide motivation, enthusiasm, and encouragement for teenagers in carrying out various activities both at school and outside of school. One way to get happiness for teenagers is through support and assistance from their family environment including parents, siblings and other extended family. On the other hand, there are some teenagers who live far apart from their parents and family as experienced by teenagers who migrate. Teenagers who feel happy will spend their time socializing and are happy to have more casual friends or close friends. Friendly friendships will help the social and emotional development of adolescents. This study uses correlational quantitative research, to determine the relationship between friendship quality and happiness in overseas adolescents. The results of the simple regression analysis showed a correlation coefficient (rxy) = .582 at p = 0.000 (p <0.05). A significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) indicates that there is a positive significant relationship between the quality of friendship and the happiness of overseas adolescents.

Abstract

The cosmological worldview of the Dayak communities has long been reflected in various cultural practices, yet studies examining the underlying symbolic structure that integrates these practices remain limited. This study aims to analyze the fourfold cosmological structure (serba empat) as the deep symbolic system underlying the culture of the Dayak communities along the Barito River, Central Kalimantan. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, the study utilizes field observations, in-depth interviews, documentation, and textual analysis of customary traditions. Data were analyzed using Claude Lévi-Strauss's structural anthropology through the processes of data reduction, categorization, structural interpretation, and verification. The findings reveal that the serba empat cosmology constitutes the underlying cultural structure that organizes ritual practices, traditional architecture, settlement patterns, agricultural activities, healing traditions, oral narratives, and customary institutions. Rather than functioning merely as a numerical concept or ritual convention, the fourfold principle serves as a symbolic framework that integrates relationships among humans, nature, ancestors, and the supernatural. The study further demonstrates that the continuity of Dayak culture is maintained through the persistence of this deep symbolic structure despite religious and social transformations. Theoretically, the findings extend Lévi-Strauss's structural anthropology beyond myth analysis by demonstrating that indigenous cosmology functions as an organizing framework connecting symbolic systems, indigenous knowledge, and cultural practices. This study contributes to the broader understanding of indigenous cosmology and provides a structural perspective for future comparative research on the cultural systems of indigenous societies in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

Islamic Boarding School Education Curriculum Model for Post-Rehabilitation Students with Psychosocial Mental Disabilities (PDMP) at Ainul Yakin Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta: Master’s Program in Islamic Education, Universitas Alma Ata Yogyakarta, 2026. This study was motivated by the absence of an Islamic boarding school curriculum model specifically designed to accommodate the spiritual, psychological, social, and independence needs of post-rehabilitation students with psychosocial mental disabilities (PDMP). This study aimed to develop and examine the effectiveness of the Self Spiritual Akliah (SSA)-based Islamic Boarding School Education Curriculum Model at Ainul Yakin Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the Borg and Gall model. The research stages included preliminary studies, needs analysis, product development and validation, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), product revision, field testing, and the development of a validated curriculum model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, literature studies, expert validation, FGD, and pretest and posttest administered to 30 students with PDMP. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using N-Gain analysis. The study produced an SSA Curriculum Model consisting of three dimensions: Self, Spiritual, and Akliah. The Self dimension focuses on independence and self-management; the Spiritual dimension strengthens faith, worship, morality, patience, gratitude, sincerity, and reliance on God; while the Akliah dimension develops thinking abilities, social skills, and adaptability. The model includes educational objectives, learning outcomes, learning materials, instructional strategies, activity programs, mentoring systems, and evaluation instruments. Expert validation and FGD results indicated that the model was feasible, relevant, and applicable. The effectiveness test showed an increase in the average score from 58.43 in the pretest to 83.10 in the posttest, representing an improvement of 24.67 points. The average N-Gain score was 0.60 or 60.45%, which was classified as moderate or moderately effective. A total of 10 students, or 33.33%, achieved a high improvement category, while 20 students, or 66.67%, achieved a moderate category, with no students in the low category. Therefore, the SSA Curriculum Model was moderately effective in improving the spirituality, independence, social skills, and adaptive readiness of students with PDMP in family and community life.

Abstract

The crisis of moral degradation among adolescents is a key phenomenon underpinning the importance of strengthening student character. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Cultural History learning, identify character values, describe obstacles, and formulate recommendations at IRA Medan Junior High School. The method used was descriptive qualitative through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of teachers and students. The findings indicate that Islamic Cultural History learning plays a significant role in instilling the values of discipline, honesty, responsibility, and patience through exemplary figures and storytelling methods. This study's contribution demonstrates positive behavioral changes in students at school and at home. However, limitations in internalizing values lie in differences in student readiness, limited time allocation, and a less than conducive external social environment. Consequently, individual coaching by teachers has not been optimal. Recommendations call for strong synergy between schools, families, and the community, along with the development of innovative, more contextual learning methods.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the high divorce rate in Indonesia and the complexity of resolving joint property disputes arising after divorce. The primary objective is to compare the methods of resolving joint property division cases with and without prenuptial agreements at the Mungkid Religious Court, Magelang Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a field case study approach. Primary data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews with court officials. The results conclude that joint property cases without a prenuptial agreement are resolved through litigation, applying a 50:50 equal division based on the Marriage Law and KHI, although judges hold discretion for proportional division based on jurisprudence. Conversely, the existence of a prenuptial agreement empirically succeeds in diverting joint property disputes directly to non-litigation channels (deliberation) effectively and swiftly, thereby accelerating the main divorce proceedings without cumulative conflicts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and formulate the pedagogical strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in internalizing the values of empathy and social sensitivity among students at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Medan. Amid the challenges of the digital era and the increasing individualistic behavior among adolescents, the role of PAI teachers becomes essential in shaping students' social character based on Islamic values. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, homeroom teachers, principals, and students, as well as documentation studies. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the pedagogical strategies implemented by PAI teachers include: (1) habituation strategies through social and religious activities at school, (2) exemplary strategies (uswah hasanah) through teachers' daily behavior, and (3) dialogic-reflective strategies in the learning process by relating Islamic education materials to students' social realities. Supporting factors of these strategies include a school environment based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah values, while the inhibiting factors stem from the influence of social media and the low level of students' social interaction. The implications of this study indicate that consistently implemented pedagogical strategies are capable of enhancing students' empathy and social sensitivity within the school environment.
