Abstract

Medicinal plants are plants that are used by the community to improve the ability to live a healthy life. This public belief that has been carried out from generation to generation has been scientifically proven. Rural communities generally plant various types of plants, both seasonal and perennials, in their yards, which are commonly referred to as living barns, living stalls and living pharmacies. This research was conducted in one of the house yards in Pataruman village, Cihampelas sub-district, Bandung Regency. By identifying medicinal plants based on their morphology and literature studies. The results of this research obtained 6 plant species, namely Katuk, Betel, Bandotan, Honje, Ki Edi, and Aloe Vera. The substances contained in these plants are very beneficial for health, such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, vitamins A, B, C and others. Abstract

Modern agriculture has experienced a significant transformation with the introduction of mechanization technology, one of which is the use of combine harvesters. This machine has a crucial role in increasing the efficiency and productivity of crop harvests, especially in the cultivation of cereal crops such as rice, wheat and corn. This research aims to determine the effect of using a combine harvester on lowland rice productivity. This research was carried out from September to October 2023 in Tanjung Alai Village. The data analysis used in this research is linear regression analysis to analyze the effect of yield loss due to the use of a Combine Harvester (CH) on productivity. The research results showed that the use of a Combine Harvester in Tanjung Alai Village, Mukomuko Regency was able to increase rice productivity by 487.56 kg/ha (11.21%) compared to harvesting without using a Combine Harvester. The T Test results show a significant value of 0.000, meaning that the significant value ˂ ɑ 0.05 indicates that the yield loss variable when harvesting using a Combine Harvester has a real or significant effect on rice productivity. Based on the regression equation formed, every 1% reduction in yield loss when harvesting using a Combine Harvester will increase rice productivity by 79,221 kg

Abstract

Indonesia as an agricultural country rich in natural resources, relies heavily on agriculture to support its economy, especially in Central Java where the majority of the population are farmers. However, many rural areas, such as Tegalrandu village in Srumbung, Magelang, face challenges due to limited agricultural knowledge and resources. This study aims to empower farmers in Tegalrandu by improving their agricultural practices through the use of compost as a sustainable fertilizer. This study uses the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) methodology, which focuses on local strengths and assets to catalyze community-driven development. Participants included local farmers who were engaged through a series of workshops and hands-on training in compost production using household waste and natural activators. The results showed that farmers successfully produced high-quality compost, leading to improved soil health and crop yields. In addition, the community showed increased knowledge and confidence in sustainable agricultural practices. This study underscores the importance of participatory approaches in agricultural development, highlighting the potential of composting to not only increase crop production but also foster economic resilience among rural farmers. The implications extend beyond local agricultural practices, suggesting that similar empowerment strategies can be applied in other rural contexts to promote sustainability and community development.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence farmers' interest in cultivating patchouli in Toriki Village, Anggaberi District, Konawe Regency. The population in this study were all patchouli farmers in Toriki Village, totaling 15 farmers. So that the sample of this study was 15 people. The measurement scale used in this study was the Likert Rating Scale (SLR). To analyze the factors that influence farmers' interest, multiple regression analysis was used. The results showed that variables (X1), (X2), (X4) influenced the interest of patchouli farmers (Y). While variable (X3) showed a negative relationship but had a significant effect on the interest of patchouli farmers (Y) in Toriki Village. The t-test showed that all variables influenced farmers' interest in cultivating patchouli because they had a t count that was greater than the t table (X1 = 7.895, X2 = 3.556, X3 = -3.708, X4 = 10.347> t table 1.81246). from the results of the f test, it shows that the four variables (X1, X2, X3, X4) have a simultaneous effect on the dependent variable (Y) with a calculated f value of 45.345> f table 3.48. The determination coefficient test (R Square) shows an R Square value of 0.948, meaning that the independent variables can explain the dependent variable by 94.8%.

Abstract

Porang flour, extracted from the tuber of the porang plant (Amorphophallus muelleri), is known as a food ingredient rich in fiber and low in calories. This study aims to measure the crude fiber content in porang flour tested at the Food and Agricultural Product Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Based on the analysis, the average crude fiber content in porang flour was found to be 0.79%, with a standard deviation of 0.02%. However, no crude fiber content was found in the porang flour gel sample. These findings provide important insights into the potential of porang flour as a fiber source in the development of food products. The results also demonstrate product quality consistency, which can serve as a foundation for the development of healthier food industries.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) play a strategic role in developing human resources that are not only religiously competent but also economically independent. In addressing the challenges of globalization, pesantren independence can be strengthened through entrepreneurship programs that provide economic benefits, empower students (santri), and contribute to the surrounding community. This study focuses on analyzing the entrepreneurship programs at Pondok Pesantren Al Kautsar 561, which include biofloc tilapia farming and melon cultivation in greenhouses, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection involved focus group discussions (FGD) with foundation administrators, teachers, students, and the local community. The findings reveal that entrepreneurship programs enhance pesantren independence by generating additional income, which is utilized for scholarships and operational activities. Entrepreneurship training equips students with practical skills in agribusiness and aquaculture, such as biofloc systems and greenhouse technology. Furthermore, these programs strengthen the relationship between pesantren and the community through community-based economic collaboration, creating job opportunities and improving local economic resilience. However, challenges such as limited resources and access to technology persist. Solutions include establishing strategic partnerships with external parties and providing training in digital marketing to ensure program sustainability.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the palm oil agribusiness partnership pattern implemented by PT. Bengkulu Sustainable Palm Oil in Kedurang Ilir District, South Bengkulu, along with its impact on farmer partners. The research method was carried out descriptively with a qualitative approach, using primary data through in-depth interviews and secondary data from related documents. Respondents consisted of 440 partner farmers and 2 companies selected purposively. The research results show that the partnership pattern implemented is the Plasma Core Pattern (IP), where PT. Bengkulu Sawit Lestari acts as the core that guides and purchases the results of plasma farmers. The conflicts that occurred were relatively low, with the majority of partner farmers stating that there were no physical or significant conflicts. From an economic aspect, partner farmers produce an average of 4,038 kg of FFB per month, with a selling price of Rp. 1,948 per kilogram, resulting in net income of Rp. 5,512,443 per month after deducting costs. In conclusion, this agribusiness partnership succeeded in increasing farmer productivity and income, despite deficiencies in training and financial reporting by the company. It is recommended that companies and farmers jointly write written sanctions in agreements, increase training, and provide monthly financial reports to strengthen partnership relations.
