Abstract

This research examines how quality of work life (QWL) and work-family conflict (WFC) affect turnover intention (TI) in private hospitals, and how organisational commitment (OC) mediates these effects. The aim is to explore how QWL and WFC affect TI and to assess the mediating effect of OC. Understanding these relationships is crucial as high turnover disrupts hospital operations, increases costs, and impacts patient care quality. A non-probability saturation sampling strategy was utilised with 280 non-medical workers. SEM-PLS was used to analyse Likert scale questionnaires for validity and reliability and hypothesis testing using structural model assessment. WFC increases TI, whereas QWL and OC decrease it. OC mediates the negative link between QWL and TI and the positive association between WFC and TI. Hospital management should enhance QWL and minimize WFC to reduce turnover. Policies supporting work-life balance, employee recognition, and career growth are recommended. This research shows that organisational commitment mediates the effects of QWL and WFC on TI, providing insights for employee well-being and retention tactics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial performance ratios on stock returns by considering the role of labor education costs as a moderating variable in conventional banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2009-2023. The financial performance ratios studied include Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Loan Deposit Ratio (LDR). In addition, labor education costs proved to be able to moderate the relationship between financial performance ratios and stock returns, indicating the importance of investing in human resource development to improve financial performance and investment attractiveness. This study provides theoretical implications on the development of microeconomic theory and practical recommendations for the management of banking companies and regulators that the cost of labor education is not only recognized as a company expense in the short term. However, the cost of labor education is able to increase operational efficiency which affects the profitability and securities of banking companies in the long term and is considered to be a strategic step for companies in facing future challenges.

Abstract

Poverty as a complex problem that affects all levels of society, has become a global issue that requires serious attention. Its widespread impact, which includes low access to education, health, and economic opportunities, requires the search for effective and sustainable solutions. Poverty alleviation is not about economic improvement, but also about the fulfilment of human rights in order to realize a decent life for each individual. This is where the role of social entrepreneurship becomes very important, with a focus on creating innovative and socially impactful solutions that can address the root causes of poverty. John Dewey's idea of humanity, with its emphasis on the importance of education, community participation and moral values, provides a strong philosophical foundation for the practice of social entrepreneurship. This research aims to analyse the impact of social entrepreneurship in overcoming poverty, focusing on the role of education, access to resources, and community empowerment. The research method uses a literature study by linking the innovative model of social entrepreneurship with Dewey's idea of humanity as an alternative solution to solving the problem of poverty in Indonesia. The results provide empirical evidence of the effectiveness of social entrepreneurship in reducing poverty and improving people's quality of life. The implications of this research strengthen government, private, and community initiatives to encourage the growth and sustainability of social entrepreneurship business models based on the principles of humanity in every policy step taken. Moreover, social entrepreneurship is an effective force in creating sustainable and equitable social change for all stakeholders.
