Abstract

As stated in SDGs 4.7, education for sustainable development functions to educate the younger generation as future leaders and agents of change. This research aims to identify student motivation towards CSR and Community Development lecture messages on sustainable development issues. Communication plays a role in the process of achieving lecture goals. This research uses the Elaboration Likelihood Model theory to determine changes in student attitudes regarding the message of sustainable development education. The research uses a quantitative approach by observing through surveys and using non-probability sampling, namely judgment sampling on active students in CSR and Community Development courses at UPN Veteran Jakarta, namely 241 students. Determining the sample size used the Cochran formula and obtained 51 respondents. The results of this research using the Elaboration Likelihood Model theory show that lecture messages have not significantly influenced student attitudes. Following the research results, to strengthen students' motivation and abilities, they can use exciting communication strategies that generate emotional liking for lecture messages about sustainable development issues in CSR and Community Development courses. Lecturers must also carry out Project Learning methods so that students are immersed in the field to awaken the emotional side of students regarding sustainable development issues.

Abstract

Beauveria bassiana is one of the biological agents to control insect pests, including the coffee berry borer. Adding chitin nutrition to the propagation media is essential to improve the quality of the spores and their pathogenicity. The research objective was to determine the effect of adding chitin from sources of Tenebrio molitor and shrimp shells with different concentrations in the propagation media on the spore quality and pathogenicity of beauveria bassiana. The research was conducted at the Protection Laboratory at the National Veterans Development University, Yogyakarta, from November 2022 to February 2023. The study used a completely randomized design as a treatment using multiplication media. beauveria bassiana without adding chitin (C0), media with chitin T. molitor 1 g/200 g (C1); Get it T. molitor 2 g/200 g (C2); Kitten T. molitor 3g/200g (C3); Shrimp shell chitin 3 g/200 g (C4); Shrimp shell chitin four g/200 g(C5); Shrimp shell chitin 5 g/200 g(C6). The treatment was repeated four times. The results showed that spore quality test, T. molitor chitin treatment 2 g/200 g (spore density 7.53x108 spores/mL and viability 84.48%) and shrimp shell chitin 4 g/200 g (spore density 7.34x108 spores) /mL and viability 83.09%) resulted in high-quality mushrooms. While the pathogenicity test, the treatment of T. Molitor chitin 2 g/200 g and shrimp shell 4 g/200 g produced good pathogenicity (the highest percentage of mortality; the fastest death rates were 5.1 and 4.7 days; the most secured 50% Lethal Time was 4.264 and 3.883 days and the lowest eating power of 0.55 and 0.51 grams.

Abstract

The current study aims to fill the research gap related to the impact of Human Capital Management Practices (HCMPs) on work engagement in the hospitality industry. The study's objective is to identify key HCMPs and evaluate their effects on work engagement in the South African context. Data were collected from full-time hotel employees and their managers working in four and five-star hotels in the Johannesburg metropolitan city in South Africa. Partial Least Square based Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze the data and test the effects of HCMPs on work engagement. The study's findings indicate that recruitment and selection, training, and retention are significant HCMP indicators. These indicators were found to have a positive relationship with work engagement in the hospitality industry. The study highlights the critical role of HCMPs, in enhancing employee work engagement in the hospitality industry. It is recommended that management implement these practices to effectively manage and motivate employees. HCMPs demonstrate management's commitment to employee well-being and service quality. Abstract

The road section of Danau Rawah Village, Timah District, Kapuas Regency, has a length of 1 km with a road width of 3 meters. This section is a local road (rural collector) with 1 lane and 2 directions without a separator median, connecting different subdistricts. The condition of this road is that it is still unpaved and graveled. Therefore, there is a need to plan the appropriate road pavement thickness according to field conditions and in compliance with regulations. This research plans the rigid pavement thickness using the AASHTO 1993 method with a planned lifespan of 20 years. The calculated values include the concrete slab thickness, the thickness of the surface pavement, and soil improvement based on the subgrade's CBR data. The LHR data is obtained through direct surveys as the analytical material to obtain the planned traffic design values. The results obtained in the study of rigid pavement thickness planning using the AASHTO 1993 method for a planned lifespan of 20 years are as follows: the thickness of the concrete slab for the rigid pavement is 20 cm, the thickness of the upper pavement layer is 20 cm, and the process or improvement of the subgrade is 10 cm.
