Abstract

The development of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia demands a strong integration between normative aspects and operational legality. This study aims to analyze the implementation of sharia compliance in Islamic banking governance in Indonesia and examine its contribution to achieving legal certainty. Using a qualitative method with a juridical-normative approach, this research examines secondary data through library research and a statutory approach. The results indicate that sharia compliance is a fundamental principle that serves as a key indicator of the credibility and integrity of Islamic financial institutions. Sharia governance acts as a mediating variable that connects sharia compliance to legal certainty through mechanisms of transparency, accountability, and the strategic role of the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS). Although supported by Law No. 21 of 2008 and Law No. 4 of 2023 (UU P2SK), legal certainty still faces challenges such as the dualism of the legal system and differing interpretations of sharia principles. The study concludes that strengthening adaptive regulations, improving human resource quality, and harmonizing Islamic law with national positive law are essential to creating a sustainable and competitive Islamic banking ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and management strategies of foreign exchange reserves in maintaining Indonesia’s economic stability amid the global economic slowdown. The global slowdown, driven by geopolitical uncertainty, monetary policy tightening, and financial market volatility, has exerted pressure on developing countries, including Indonesia, through trade, exchange rate, and capital flow channels. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, utilizing secondary data from reports of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and publications from Bank Indonesia. Data analysis is conducted using content analysis. The results show that the global economic slowdown has led to declining export performance, exchange rate volatility, and fluctuations in capital flows in Indonesia. In this context, foreign exchange reserves play a strategic role as a shock absorber in mitigating external pressures. However, their effectiveness is determined not only by the level of reserves but also by adaptive and prudent management strategies. This study highlights that economic stability is also influenced by the synergy between monetary and fiscal policies, as well as the strengthening of the domestic economic structure.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the behavior of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) usage and its implications for Financial Distress among university students. A qualitative exploratory approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of students’ financial behavior in the context of digital credit. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with students who actively use paylater services and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that paylater usage is largely driven by consumptive needs, supported by ease of access, payment flexibility, and lifestyle influences. Students often perceive paylater as a practical financial solution; however, they tend to exhibit overconfidence in their future repayment capacity. This leads to less prudent financial decisions and increases the risk of financial imbalance. The study also finds that such behavior may result in Financial Distress, reflected in cash flow difficulties, delayed payments, and rising financial pressure. Nevertheless, the level of vulnerability varies depending on individual factors such as financial literacy, self-control, and social environment. The study concludes that paylater usage is not merely a financial tool but a behavioral phenomenon. Strengthening financial literacy and self-control is therefore essential to mitigate Financial Distress risks among students.

Abstract

The implementation of the dormant account freezing policy by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in mid-2025 has attracted public attention. This incident has negatively impacted banking customer trust. This study aims to analyze customer responses to the implementation of the dormant account freezing policy by PPATK on the level of trust of Islamic bank customers. In addition to analyzing the relationship between customer responses and trust in Islamic banks, this study also analyzes the appropriateness of the dormant account freezing implementation from the perspective of customer protection regulations and PPATK's authority. Quantitative methods were used to analyze the relationship between Islamic bank customer responses and the level of customer trust in Islamic banks after the policy was implemented. Research data were collected through a questionnaire developed based on its suitability with stakeholder theory. In an effort to analyze the appropriateness of the policy implementation from a regulatory perspective, the regulatory basis applicable in Indonesia was used. The sample in this study was 270 Islamic bank customers in Tasikmalaya City. The results of the study suggest a positive relationship between public response to the dormant account freezing policy and the level of customer trust in Islamic banks. Based on the regulatory analysis, it was found that Islamic banks are obliged to provide a sense of security for customers related to the transparency of Islamic bank products and services. However, based on the law, the PPATK's duties in monitoring suspicious transactions are considered to exceed its limits and authority.

Abstract

The researchers in this study set out to find out how well fast food workers in Garut Regency practice green HRM and environmentally conscious behavior. This study is motivated by the increasing environmental issues caused by the fast food industry, including food waste, plastic waste, and excessive energy use. In this quantitative study, 75 participants were chosen for the survey using a purposeful selection technique. The data was evaluated using multiple linear regression in SPSS. To back up the results, validity, reliability, and standard assumption tests were utilized. The results show that GHRM has a positive and significant effect on GEP (β = 0.081; p < 0.05), whereas GB has a larger influence (β = 0.276; p < 0.05). The combined effect of the two variables on GEP was substantial, with an adjusted R-squared value of 0.726. In addition to company policy, these findings demonstrate that employee behavior affects environmental performance. Businesses may do their part to encourage eco-friendly practices by bolstering waste management education, garbage sorting infrastructure, and environmental rewards.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to analyze the results of finfluencers credibility on millennials' investment choices, with digital financial literacy as a moderator. In this analysis, a quantitative explanatory method was used. The sample was millennials with investment experience, using a criterion-based sampling approach. The information was collected using a Likert-scale survey tool, and PLS for SEM was used for processing. The findings demonstrated that finfluencer credibility significantly and favorably influenced investment choices, meaning that the higher the credibility, the greater the probability that individuals will adopt investment recommendations. The impact of digital financial literacy was detrimental and substantial, suggesting that when making financial decisions, those with high reading levels are typically more logical and less impulsive. In addition, Finfluencer credibility and investment decisions were negatively affected by digital financial knowledge, indicating that higher literacy weakens the influence of finfluencers. These findings indicate that millennials' investment decisions are influenced by external factors in the form of information credibility and internal elements as a control mechanism for information filtering, such as digital financial literacy.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of destination image and social media activities on tourists’ intention to visit through the mediating role of destination personality at Gunung Papandayan Nature Tourism Park. A quantitative explanatory approach was applied in this research. The study involved 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling, consisting of individuals who were familiar with or had received information about Gunung Papandayan from social media platforms. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) supported by SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that both destination image and social media activities have a positive and significant effect on destination personality. Furthermore, destination personality significantly enhances tourists’ intention to visit. In contrast, destination image and social media activities do not directly affect visit intention in a significant way. Mediation analysis reveals that destination personality acts as an intervening variable linking destination image and social media activities with tourists’ visit intention. These results suggest that establishing a strong destination personality can effectively strengthen tourists’ interest in visiting Gunung Papandayan Nature Tourism Park.

Abstract

This research examines how leading sectors shape economic growth across 15 provinces in Sumatra and Kalimantan during 2020–2024, drawing on secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The study incorporates Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (X₁), Mining and Quarrying (X₂), Manufacturing (X₃), and Construction (X₄) as predictors, while Economic Growth (EG) serves as the outcome variable. Two analytical approaches were employed: Location Quotient (LQ) for sector classification and Fixed Effect Model (FEM) panel regression using EViews 12. LQ analysis establishes that all four sectors operate as economic base sectors (LQ > 1) throughout the study area. FEM estimation produces the equation: EG = −1.8124 + 0.1037(X₁) + 0.2941(X₂) + 0.6185(X₃) + 0.8697(X₄). Each variable demonstrates a positive and statistically significant partial effect on growth. Construction emerges as the strongest contributor (β = 0.8697), with Manufacturing (β = 0.6185), Mining and Quarrying (β = 0.2941), and Agriculture (β = 0.1037) ranking subsequently. The joint significance test confirms simultaneous influence of all sectors (p = 0.0000), with R² = 0.9094, indicating that the model accounts for 90.94 percent of the variation in inter-regional economic growth.
