Abstract

The problems faced by the community of RT 26 RW 07, Sawah Lebar Village, include limited information media on the layout of the area and low access to community literacy facilities. The absence of a map of the neighborhood makes it difficult for the community and newcomers to recognize the boundaries of the area and public facilities, while the lack of literacy facilities has an impact on low reading interest, especially among children and teenagers. This community service activity aims to improve the organization of regional information by providing location maps and to increase community interest in reading by providing literacy corners. The implementation method involves observation, regional data collection, information media design, and the provision and assistance of literacy corner utilization. The results of the activity show the availability of location maps at strategic points and the establishment of literacy corners that are utilized by the community. This program contributes to improving environmental order and community empowerment based on education.

Abstract

Environmental cleanliness is one of the important factors in creating a healthy and comfortable quality of life for the community. Waste problems that are still frequently found in residential areas are caused by low public awareness and limited supporting facilities, such as waste bins. This study aims to examine efforts to improve environmental cleanliness through community-based mutual cooperation activities and the provision of waste disposal facilities. The method used was a participatory approach by involving the community in collective cleaning activities and observing environmental conditions before and after the implementation of the program. The results indicate that regular mutual cooperation activities and the availability of adequate waste bins can increase public awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness and reduce the amount of scattered waste. Furthermore, active community participation plays a significant role in maintaining the sustainability of environmental cleanliness. This study concludes that collaboration with the community, supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure, can be an effective strategy for improving environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts to improve digital literacy among students of SMKN 1 Kota Bengkulu through the “AI for Beginners” training program. The rapid development of artificial intelligence requires students to understand basic technological concepts to encourage creativity and innovation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method involving approximately 60–65 vocational school students as participants. Data were obtained through observation during training activities, informal interviews, and documentation. The results show that students were highly enthusiastic and responded positively to the presence of the training team. They showed strong motivation to learn and explore artificial intelligence, although their understanding of the material was limited due to the English-based training content. Nevertheless, the activity successfully introduced AI fundamentals and stimulated students’ interest in further learning. This program is expected to be a foundation for more structured digital literacy development in vocational schools.

Abstract

The Dehasen University Bengkulu Thematic Community Service Program, in collaboration with BPPTIK Kominfo, conducted digital literacy training based on seven HP LIFE and Cisco modules for the community in RT 16, Jalan Sepakat 3, Kelurahan Sawah Lebar Baru. This activity was motivated by the low level of digital awareness among the community, characterized by a lack of understanding of basic technology, low confidence in the use of digital devices, and limited access to technology-based information. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of training in improving the basic competencies of the community, particularly in terms of knowledge, device usage skills, and changes in attitudes towards technology. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observations during training, interviews with participants, and documentation of activities in each module. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and thematic conclusions. The results showed that HP LIFE and Cisco module-based training had a positive impact on improving the community's digital literacy. Participants who initially showed resistance and distrust of technology began to understand the basic benefits of digital devices, were able to operate simple features, and showed interest in continuing independent learning. Factors supporting the effectiveness of the training included applicable delivery methods, intensive mentoring, and the relevance of the material to daily needs. However, infrastructure limitations and differences in education levels posed challenges that required further strategies. Overall, this training has proven effective in improving the basic digital literacy competencies of rural communities and has made a real contribution to efforts to strengthen digital capacity in the local environment.
