Abstract

Free trade is a central issue in global economic dynamics, particularly in the interactions between developed and developing countries. While it offers developing countries opportunities to expand exports, attract foreign investment, and stimulate economic growth, developed countries benefit through market expansion, increased competitiveness, and industrial as well as technological dominance. However, these benefits are not always evenly distributed. In the case of Indonesia, participation in free trade frameworks such as AFTA provides broader market access but also demands effective trade policies and export strategies to remain competitive. This study contributes to the discourse of Islamic law by linking global trade theories with Islamic business ethics. Accordingly, examining the role of free trade is essential to understand how both developed and developing nations can maximize its advantages while mitigating the adverse impacts of global trade liberalization.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of workforce planning and strategic compensation in enhancing employee job satisfaction based on a literature review of mainstream media sources. Current labor issues reported in national media highlight increasing job dissatisfaction, high turnover rates, workload imbalance, and demands for fairer compensation, emphasizing the urgency of integrating workforce planning and compensation strategies in modern organizational management. This research applies a qualitative approach through document analysis by collecting data from mainstream media publications and relevant academic sources that reported employment-related topics between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that well-structured workforce planning contributes to more effective task distribution and a greater sense of job security, while strategic compensation, both financial and non-financial, significantly increases motivation and employee recognition. In conclusion, the synergy between workforce planning and strategic compensation becomes a determinant factor in achieving sustainable job satisfaction, enabling organizations to create a productive, healthy, and competitive working environment.

Abstract

The global market currently faces instability due to geopolitical pressures, supply chain disruptions, inflation, and changes in international trade policies. These conditions require MSMEs, including those in Pontianak City, to increase their competitiveness through digital adaptation, strengthening human resource capacity, and meeting international quality standards. Pontianak's MSMEs have shown significant growth, but still face challenges such as low digital literacy, limited professional financial record-keeping, a lack of understanding of export certification, limited capital, and inter-island logistics barriers. Previous studies have confirmed that digitalization, financial literacy, online marketing, and the use of fintech contribute positively to MSME performance. However, research gaps remain regarding export readiness, the digital transformation process towards global markets, and there is a lack of studies highlighting logistical barriers in regions outside Java, such as Pontianak. Various solutions, including digital mentoring, ongoing training, facilitation of halal and international certification, regulatory simplification, and microfinance support, have been shown to improve MSME readiness to enter international markets. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the challenges, opportunities, and needs of Pontianak's MSMEs in penetrating the global market through interviews, field observations, and official documentation. The research results indicate that export opportunities for Pontianak's MSMEs are significant, but require a comprehensive and collaborative strategy. This study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the dynamics facing Pontianak's MSMEs and to formulate strategic recommendations to help them increase their competitiveness and sustainability in the international market

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the influence of incentive systems on employee work motivation. Incentives are an important component of organizational control, designed to encourage employees to perform tasks according to organizational expectations. Financial incentives such as bonuses and commissions can strengthen short-term motivation because they provide direct rewards. Meanwhile, non-financial incentives, including recognition, flexibility, and development opportunities, contribute to intrinsic motivation and long-term engagement. The effectiveness of incentives depends on fairness, transparency, attainable performance targets, and consistent implementation. A literature review and case study analysis at AXI Adira Finance Syariah demonstrate that well-designed incentives significantly increase work motivation, productivity, and employee loyalty.

Abstract

The organizational structure of Islamic da’wah institutions in Indonesia is still dominated by hierarchical models that create barriers in coordination, communication, and employee participation. This study aims to conceptually analyze how the implementation of a collaborative organizational structure can strengthen employee work ethic within da’wah institutions. The method used is a literature review by examining national journals, organizational management books, and scientific publications related to da’wah and organizational structure from 2014–2024. The analysis was conducted through theme identification, concept categorization, and argumentative synthesis. The findings show that a collaborative organizational structure which includes decentralization, two-way communication, cross-functional work, flexibility, and facilitative leadership positively influences five dimensions of work ethic: intrinsic motivation, a sense of responsibility and trustworthiness (amanah), creativity, internalization of Islamic values (shura, ta'awun, ukhuwah), and team cohesion. This model not only improves work systems but also strengthens the mission of da’wah by positioning work as a form of worship. The implication is that da’wah institutions need to consider designing more flexible and participatory structures aligned with Islamic principles. Future research is recommended to test these conceptual findings through field studies or case studies to obtain empirical evidence

Abstract

The current disruptive era is characterised by rapid digital technology, artificial intelligence, and platform‐based business models that shake established social and economic structures. In this context, religious propagation institutions face significant challenges: how to remain relevant yet ethical in a dynamic era? This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review, examining key concepts such as disruptive innovation, organisational resistance, managerial ijtihâd, and Islamic entrepreneurship. The findings indicate that for survival and growth, da’wah institutions must cultivate a culture of managerial ijtihâd, strengthen visionary leadership grounded in Islamic values, and develop an innovation ethics framework that balances the idealism of da’wah mission with contemporary efficiency requirements. The study recommends four main strategic pillars: leadership capacity building, governance reform, digital literacy enhancement, and the formation of innovation ethics committees within da’wah institutions. Accordingly, da’wah organisations are not just able to endure the disruptive era but also become pioneers of dignified socio‐economic change.
