Abstract

The use of standard Indonesian is one of the key aspects of the learning process, particularly in higher education settings, which involve interactions between lecturers and students. This article aims to examine the extent to which standard Indonesian is applied in academic communication during the learning process. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the application of standard Indonesian by lecturers and students still faces several challenges, such as a lack of awareness about the importance of using standard language and the influence of informal or regional languages. However, the study also highlights that consistent use of standard Indonesian can enhance communication effectiveness, clarify the delivery of materials, and foster a more professional learning atmosphere. The article recommends training and socialization efforts on the use of standard Indonesian for lecturers and students to improve the quality of academic communication in higher education.

Abstract

This research is to describe the types of language variations in comments on Fuji_an's Instagram account. This research approach is a qualitative approach. This research type is descriptive. The data collection techniques for this research are reading techniques, note-taking techniques, and documentation techniques. The results of the research show that the use of various languages ​​in the comments column of Fuji_an's Instagram account consists of four types of language varieties, namely language varieties in terms of the speaker, language varieties in terms of how to communicate, language varieties in terms of the topic of conversation, and language varieties based on the level of formality. Data from research results found in Fuji_an's Instagram account as many as 50 data consisting of 2 data in terms of the speaker, namely 2 data of official variety and 6 data of unofficial variety 50 data in terms of communication methods, namely written variety data consisting of 2 data of standard written variety and 48 non-standard written variety data 4 data in terms of topic of discussion, namely literary variety 1 data, functional variety 1 data, political and legal variety 1 data, and social variety 1 data 21 data in terms of level of formality, namely intimate variety 7 data, and consultative variety of 2 data.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the trends of digitalization in Arabic language learning, focusing on the TikTok account of the Al-Azhar Arabic Course. In the modern era, the rapid development of digital technology has transformed educational practices, making learning processes more interactive, flexible, and accessible. TikTok, as one of the most popular social media platforms, offers a new approach to delivering educational content through engaging short videos. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method to understand the use of TikTok as a learning medium, including content patterns, user responses, and its effectiveness. Data were collected through content observation, interviews with account managers and users, and documentation of interactions on the platform. The findings indicate that the Al-Azhar Arabic Course TikTok account successfully captures the interest of young audiences with its varied and interactive content. Active interaction between account managers and users also enhances student engagement in the learning process. Despite challenges related to content quality and technological disparities, this study demonstrates that TikTok holds significant potential as an educational tool for introducing Arabic language to a broader audience. The research recommends that account managers continually update their content and evaluate its relevance and quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Indonesian language variations on Ria Ricis's Instagram account, a renowned influencer with a diverse audience. The analysis seeks to understand how Ria Ricis utilizes language variations as a communication tool, builds relationships with her followers, and shapes her self-image on social media. The research employs a qualitative approach by examining content such as captions and comments based on theories of language variation, pragmatics, and digital communication. The results show that Ria Ricis uses a casual, flexible, and relatable language style, incorporating slang, colloquial expressions, and popular terms. The language employed reflects an effective communication strategy to foster emotional closeness with her audience. Moreover, the social media context enables the use of informal language to create interactive and authentic relationships. This study highlights the significance of language variations in strengthening social connections and constructing personal identity on social media.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to the field of translation, offering ease and efficiency in the translation process. However, its use raises various ethical issues that need to be regulated through a clear code of ethics. This study discusses the Code of Ethics for the Use of AI in Translation, encompassing key principles such as accountability, transparency, privacy, fairness, and cultural respect.The code of ethics aims to optimize AI's potential while minimizing negative impacts, such as algorithmic bias, loss of cultural meaning in translations, and the declining role of human translators. Through literature reviews and case studies, this research recommends steps such as regular AI system audits, human-AI collaboration, and compliance with data privacy laws. By implementing this code of ethics, the use of AI in translation is expected to operate responsibly, support linguistic diversity, and uphold professional standards in the field of translation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structure of the drama script by Chairil Anwar entitled " Sudah Gila" using a structural approach. The method applied in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach with a focus on library research. Data collection techniques include reading techniques, inventory techniques, and recording techniques. Through reading all the data obtained will be grouped based on the object of research. After being grouped, the data will be described according to the existing conditions and arranged into a report. The results of the study, the conflict that occurs in the script, namely a man who is upset over the death of his beloved wife, and is upset why good people are taken first by God, why not bad people. This is a conflict or central problem in the drama script " Sudah Gila" by Chairil Anwar. The plot in this script is a forward plot. The setting in this drama script is in the Village, Teras Rumah. Conclusion, based on the analysis that the author did on the drama script, it is a type of imaginative drama as well as possibly a tragedy drama, because the climax of the story is about sadness and confusion.

Abstract

The poem Mata Luka Sengkon Karta Peri Sandi has a strong sociological element. This poem focuses on the problem of legal injustice and other social realities. This is done through a sociological literary approach. The people depicted in this poem, Sengkon and Karta, are representations of people who are victims of errors in the Indonesian legal system. This poem uses expressive and symbolic language to describe the helplessness, suffering, and hopes of the oppressed. This study aims to determine how the social and political context influences the creation of the poem, as well as how the poem functions as a social critique of the state of law in Indonesia. This study finds that Mata Luka Sengkon Karta is not only an aesthetic work; it also functions as a tool to convey the voices of marginalized communities, using the theory of sociology of literature.

Abstract

Da'wah is the process of conveying religious messages with the aim of inviting people to live in accordance with the provisions of Allah SWT and His Messenger. In the delivery of da'wah, language plays a vital role as an effective communication medium. The language used in da'wah must be gentle, polite, correct, and relevant to the audience so that the message can be received and understood. The history of the spread of Islam in Indonesia shows that the role of language is very significant in conveying the teachings of Islam, including language adaptation to local culture that facilitates public acceptance. Ustaz Muhammad Nuruddin is an example of a modern da'i who has succeeded in utilizing language as a medium of da'wah communication effectively. In his lecture entitled Year-End Reflection to Improve Self-Quality, he uses simple and easy-to-understand Indonesian, accompanied by a relaxed language style that attracts the audience. In addition, his method of delivering da'wah uses stories and analogies, which make it easier for worshipers to understand Islamic values in everyday life. This reflects that creativity, relevant language styles, and story-based approaches and analogies are the keys to successful da'wah in the face of diverse community backgrounds in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the physical structure in the poetry collection Doa untuk Anak Cucu (Prayer for Children and Grandchildren) by W.S. Rendra. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis approach. The data analyzed are the lines of poetry in the anthology. In-depth, this thesis analyzes the physical structure of the poems in ten selected works from the Doa untuk Anak Cucu collection by W.S. Rendra. The analysis focuses on seven elements of the physical structure of the poems: diction, imagery, figurative language, concrete words, typography, rhyme, and rhythm. The results show that the poet employs various strategies in selecting and arranging the physical elements of the poems. The diction chosen is highly diverse, with a total of 192 words across the ten poems. Imagery, which is strong and present in every poem, amounts to 161 images throughout the collection, creating vivid mental pictures for the reader. Figurative language such as metaphor, simile, and personification is used effectively to enrich the meaning and beauty of the poems, with 152 instances of figurative language identified in the study. The carefully chosen concrete words help readers visualize the objects and events described, with 121 concrete words found in this thesis. The typography used is also varied, with the arrangement of words and lines intentionally set to create specific rhythmic and visual effects. Rhyme and rhythm in the poems create a distinct harmony and musicality. This thesis identifies 121 rhymes and 170 rhythms.

Abstract

Madurese, as one of the regional languages used by more than thirteen million speakers, has an important role in maintaining the ethnic and cultural identity of the Madurese people. This research aims to analyze the use of affixations in Madurese contained in the Sekar Anom 3 Package Book Chapter 1 for class IX SMP/MTS. Madurese, as a regional language with a complex morphological system, has various forms of affixation, including prefixes, infixes, suffixes and confixes. Using qualitative descriptive methods, this research identifies words that undergo the affixation process, analyzes their form, and reveals their morphological and semantic functions. The research results show that the affixation process not only enriches the structure and meaning of words in Madurese but also reflects its flexibility and uniqueness in word formation. Prefixes such as a-, è-, and ma- are used to provide causative, passive, or formal functions, while infixes such as -um- and -en- expand the meaning of the base word. The suffixes -a, -na, and -aghi as well as confixes such as ka-an, pa-an, and e-na are also found to strengthen descriptive, indicating, or command functions.
