Abstract

The problem of the principal's role in improving and advancing the quality of education is a problem that must be overcome. Solving this problem will be followed by a positive impact on the surrounding community, including at SD Negeri 25 Mattirowalie, Bone Regency, where the principal also uses the role of the principal in improving the quality of education in accordance with the conditions in the environment. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained by the author by conducting observations in the field and conducting in-depth interviews with sources related to the role of the principal in improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 25 Mattirowalie, Bone Regency. The conclusions obtained in this study are first, the role of the principal in improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 25 Mattirowalie uses a participatory leadership style. Second, the quality shown by teachers is still low. Third, the relevant role of the principal used by the principal of SD Negeri 25 Mattirowalie in improving the quality of teacher education is a participatory leadership style coupled with better supervision by the principal of teacher performance. The implication of this study is that the role of the principal in improving the quality of education needs to be improved in the environment of SD Negeri 25 Mattirowalie if the role used by the principal increases, it can be ascertained that the quality of education produced will increase.

Abstract

This article focuses on the purpose and implementation of supervision carried out at MI Candirejo to see the improvement of teacher professionalism through clinical supervision with an educational background in accordance with the teaching profession. The research in this article uses descriptive qualitative research with a Library Research approach, namely by reading, examining and reviewing journals and writing sources that are closely related to the issues discussed. The results of this study indicate that there are findings of 2 teachers with educational backgrounds who graduated from MI to become teachers at MI Candirejo, this will affect the professionalism of teachers in educating and teaching. Related to the four professional competencies of the teacher. The school's efforts to improve teachers' professional performance include requiring teachers who attend training to socialise with other teachers at school on Saturdays and sending them to attend training outside of general and service-based training. The centre fosters the school's efforts to improve the four competencies. The results of initial observations and school profile data of MI Candirejo, Using the term ‘bottom up’ is more for teachers who ask questions, especially for new teachers who are not familiar with the culture and character of the school. On average, only small problems are solved by asking the right person to fix it so that the teacher can fix the problem. In MI Candirejo, clinical supervision to improve teacher professionalism is very adaptive, starting from planning which is only communicated to teachers in weekly routine meetings by the principal. It can be concluded that clinical supervision will create teacher professionalism through coaching conducted by the principal and follow-up conducted by the supervisor as well as the participation of senior teachers and also the vice curriculum at school.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of LOTS and HOTS based learning. As we already know, the independent curriculum requires implementing HOTS-based learning because HOTS learning is very important for students, especially elementary school students. This research uses a qualitative research design which aims to describe the phenomenon in depth. Meanwhile, the method used is library research. The results of the research are that Low Order Thinking Skill (LOTS) is a student's ability to think functionally. Meanwhile, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) or the ability to think critically, logically, reflectively, metacognitively, and think creatively are high level thinking abilities.

Abstract

The Islamic Golden Age (750-1258 CE) was a pivotal period in the history of Islamic civilization, marked by significant advancements in various fields, including education. The educational values of this era were rooted in the principles of the Qur'an and Hadith, promoting the integration of religious and general sciences. This study aims to contextualize the educational values of the Golden Age into contemporary education systems. A qualitative research method based on literature review was employed to explore the contributions of figures such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Al-Ghazali, as well as institutions like madrasahs and the House of Wisdom. The findings reveal that principles of knowledge integration, ethics, and character development can serve as a foundation for modern educational reform. Moreover, applying these values enables the formation of a holistic educational system that is relevant to contemporary challenges while remaining rooted in Islamic traditions.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1). Describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Adobe Flash-assisted learning media based on cooperative learning developed on cube and block material, 2) Describe the increase in student learning independence by using Adobe Flash-assisted learning media based on cooperative learning that has been developed. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 06650 Medan. The subjects of this study were 30 students of grade V of SD Negeri 06650 Medan in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. This research method is the Thiagarajan model development research. The results of the study showed that: 1) Adobe Flash-assisted learning media based on cooperative learning to improve students' learning independence abilities that were developed have met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. 2) The increase in student learning independence has increased from trial I to trial II after the Adobe Flash-assisted learning media based on cooperative learning that has been developed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the madrasah committee in improving the quality of Islamic education and teacher performance at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Tangerang. The madrasah committee has a strategic role in supporting education management, including improving the quality of learning, supervising teacher performance, and strengthening Islamic values in the school environment. The research method used is a quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The results of the study show that the active role of the madrasah committee contributes significantly to the improvement of the quality of Islamic education and teacher performance. The madrasah committee plays a role in providing input to the school, improving the welfare of teachers, and creating a conducive learning environment. Thus, the synergy between the madrasah committee and the school is a key factor in creating quality Islamic education.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the coastal area of Yeh Sumbul Village, Mendoyo District, Jembrana Regency with the following objectives: 1) To describe the potential coastal resources available in Yeh Sumbul Village, 2) To analyze strategies for developing the coastal area as an economic sector for the village. The methods used in this research included interviews and observations. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis in this research employed qualitative descriptive analysis techniques as well as SWOT analysis. The research results indicate: 1) The coastal resources in Yeh Sumbul Village include: (1) biological resources such as fisheries, lobsters, and shrimp, (2) non-biological resources that have not yet been developed, (3) artificial resources such as fishing nets, boats, and motorized boats, (4) environmental service resources such as tourism awareness groups and surfing training. 2. Strategies for developing the coastal area as an economic sector in Yeh Sumbul Village include fish farming, training to improve tourism services, providing fish collection facilities, restricting the entry of fishery products from outside the region, training the community in handicraft production, enforcing laws or awig-awig along with sanctions, and providing special funding or capital for the tourism sector.

Abstract

Improving the quality of literacy is the key to building an intelligent and critical society. This study explores various approaches to improving the quality of literacy in education. By integrating innovative teaching methods, and relevant curriculum development, this study identifies factors that contribute to improving reading and writing skills. In addition, parental and community involvement in the learning process has proven effective in creating a supportive literacy environment. The results show that collaborative efforts between schools, families, and communities can result in significant improvements in the quality of literacy, preparing future generations to face complex information challenges. In the program that I created for this change initiative is the Reading Literacy Movement which I abbreviated to ‘’GERLICA’’ so that the title is interesting for students and attracts their attention. I prioritize this because students in my school have very low interest in reading and with many factors. Among them are the lack of reading books in the library, reading books are old and outdated. Teachers who are less innovative in carrying out learning activities, especially about literacy. Lack of cooperation with external parties, especially those related to literacy activities, for example with the regional library and so on. Lack of parental involvement in accompanying children, especially when learning activities at home. For that, with the program "GERLICA" Reading Literacy Movement to increase students' interest in learning, especially in the field of literacy. As well as improving innovative teacher learning. In addition, cooperation is established with external parties including Perpusda (Regional Library), CT Arsa Fondation.

Abstract

A leader must use good and correct language. Judgment and attitude of a speaker are important. The use of good and correct language is one good way to maintain the judgment and attitude of a speaker. It is needed wherever and whenever. The researcher used Halliday’s theory of systemic functional grammar, focusing on the interpersonal function. The research was carried out using the qualitative method, and is presented descriptively. This research used the opening speeches at the 2024 Indonesian presidential first debate candidates as data. This research examines the speech functions in the speeches delivered by the three 2024 presidential candidates. The data is in the form of a speech text taken from a website (Akbar, 2023a, 2023c, 2023b) which was then selected for the clauses contained in it. The clauses contained in this speech are 108 which means this research has 108 data. As a result, it was discovered that out of the 108 clauses in the 2024 Indonesian presidential first debate candidates, 80,5% fall under the Statement type, 10,2% fall under the Question type, and the remaining 9,2% comprises the modulated interrogative moods. There is no Offer type in this research.

Abstract

This study discusses "Optimizing Students' Critical Thinking Skills in the Subject of Islamic Cultural History at Mamba Ul Ulum Elementary Madrasah, Jambi City". This study aims to determine how to optimize students' critical thinking skills in learning Islamic cultural history, especially in class V at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Mambaul Ulum Jambi and what are the obstacles faced by teachers and what are the teacher's strategies in optimizing students' critical thinking skills in the subject of Islamic cultural history. The researcher also explains how teachers at Madrasah Ibtiadiyah Manbaul Ulum, Jambi City, try to realize the learning process so that students actively develop their critical thinking potential.
