The RAUT journal seeks works that advance the discourses on spatial-related fields from multiple perspectives in various design and planning-related disciplines: architecture, urban planning, landscape, interior, and also humanities and engineering. It is published two times a year, consisting of both guest-edited special issues, as well as open issues. The journal seeks works to communicate and improve empirical knowledge and theoretical understanding of architecture and urban planning in view of global challenges and their local manifestations. This includes the reality of climate change, economic and urban growth, new technologies and societal, political and cultural shifts. Submissions are also invited in the forms of empirical research, desk study, book reviews, projects and exhibitions that are intended to challenge and extend the ideas of architecture and urban planning. This journal also gives special attention to Vernacular Architecture, Post-disaster studies, and Islamic City and Architecture.

The traditional market is an architectural space that has a distinctive atmosphere because it accommodates various user characters with various activities in it, thus forming a distinctive pattern of behavior when interacting with the market environment. The problem that occurs in the Rimo traditional market is the mismatch between market space and its function, such as a lot of space used by users for free parking, or pedestrian circulation space that is used as an additional stall for traders, causing chaos. This study aims to produce a mapping of the behavior of Rimo traditional market users using the place centered mapping method. Data collection was carried out by observing several points that were crowded with visitors, supported by in-depth interviews with formal traders and buyers. The conclusion of this study shows that the conditions and facilities of the Rimo Market are not adequate to accommodate various types of activities and behaviors of traders and buyers so that many behaviors are not in accordance with the function of the place. The results of the study can be a reference for the government in planning and managing traditional markets so that they can improve the quality of their space.

Banda Aceh City is the Capital of Aceh Province as one of the main tourist destinations with a variety of available tourist objects, but the development of the tourism sector in Banda Aceh City is still uneven, while the potential is quite varied and has the opportunity to be developed. The tourism sector can be developed by identifying the existing potential through the formation of a cluster of tourist attractions (ODTW) which can be a reference in determining the direction of development strategies. The purpose of this research is to classify ODTW which is analyzed from the potential value based on cluster analysis, the results of which are expected to be a basic reference for formulating a strategy for developing tourism objects in Banda Aceh City. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative through two stages, namely scoring analysis to measure the potential value of each ODTW and cluster analysis through SPSS software to classify ODTW based on similar characteristics from the previous assessment of tourism potential variables. The variables studied were tourist attraction attractiveness, accessibility, basic facilities and complementary facilities for tourism activities. Sampling in this study used a non-probability sampling technique with a saturated sampling method, namely the sampling method if the total population is less than 30. The results of this study are the identification of ODTW members in the three clusters formed, namely cluster 1 with high ODTW potential, there are 2 ODTW, cluster 2 there are 11 ODTW which are ODTW with medium potential, and cluster 3 with low potential there are 4 ODTW. As for the results of the study, it can be recommended that ODTW which has a main priority scale to be developed is ODTW which is in cluster 3 and the second priority scale to be developed is ODTW which is in cluster 2, so that ODTW can be prioritized for its development so that it can encourage tourism growth in the City. Banda Aceh. Suggestions for further research in order to formulate appropriate strategies for each ODTW prioritized for development.

The existence of public and private universities in Banda Aceh city causes an increasing number of students coming from other cities to the city of Banda Aceh. These students are referred to as student migrants. The large number of student migrants affects the demand for student housing. The demand for student housing encourages people to build rental and indekos houses. In addition to rental houses and indekos, some students also live in dormitories. Gampong Lamgugob is one of the gampong that has the availability of student housing. This research aims to find out the availability of student housing in Lamgugob gampong and the impact of student occupancy availability on changes in settlement activities. Data collection techniques are field surveys, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative descriptive analysis technique to explain the availability of student housing and the impact of student occupancy availability on changes in settlement activities. Based on research, the availability of student housing in Gampong Lamgugob amounted to 131 dwellings which included 51 indekos, 76 rental houses and 4 dormitories with a total number of 1,121 students. The fulfillment of student occupancy needs is also accompanied by the provision of supporting facilities for student needs. The provision of student housing and supporting facilities for student needs led to changes in settlement activities. The settlement activities in question are the change of community occupancy into student occupancy and service trade activities. The change of community housing activities to student housing amounted to 25 housing units and the change of community houses into service trade activities amounted to 23 housing units.

Work is a human activity to achieve the fulfillment of their needs. There are various kinds of work fields according to their expertise and specificity, one of which is a lecturer who teaches at the higher education level. Lecturers carry out their duties independently when working. All his teaching, research, and service work is done independently. Therefore, lecturers need a particular room to accommodate the three activities.Meanwhile, the available space is not maximized and leads to crowds. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The research location is in Lhokseumawe, precisely in the lecturer room of the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Malikussaleh University. The research method used is the participatory observation technique and behavior mapping. The results of this research are directed to architectural development, especially in the scope of the locus itself.

The Malay kingdom has a wide area of power. One of Malay Kingdom is Langkat Sultanate, which ruled in the North Sumatra Region, especially the Langkat Regency. Some relics of traditional Malay houses still survive as part of the traces of the Langkat Sultanate. Currently, the house of The Langkat Sultanate is still occupied and functions as a residence, but its condition is not well maintained. The existence of this architecture became a legacy of the Langkat Sultanate and is part of Malay culture. This study aims to identify the cultural style of Malay architecture, especially in the traditional house of Rumah Datuk Padang Tualang, in Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative so that the description of the object in studying a phenomenon of Malay architecture can be studied more accurately and well. Studies reveal that there were changes on both the micro and macro scale. However, some elements are still maintained following the Malay Architectural style.

A cafe is a place to eat and drink and also a place to gather that is popular among young people. A cafe's aesthetic quality can affect the number of visitors who come. Rifan Coffee is one of the cafes located in the coastal area and has a beautiful view in Sabang, Aceh. However, the cafe is less attractive and aesthetic when viewed from a design perspective. This presumption encourages the author to examine the aesthetic qualities of the cafe. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The assessment uses a Likert scale. The author himself acts as an observer and giver of values based on theories related to aesthetics. The variables assessed are space-forming elements and space-filling elements, which are floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and vegetation. The results showed that the aesthetic quality of the cafe has a value of 1 to 3, which means it has a very low to moderate aesthetic quality. Therefore, the authors provide design solutions to be considered in the redesign

Elvasko Real Estate Ruko is one of the shophouses in Beurawe which is located on Jalan Jeumpa Beurawe, Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh City. The city of Banda Aceh is a tropical region with temperatures ranging from 25.5C to 32.5C. This has an impact on the high consumption of electrical energy as a result of the use of artificial ventilation in buildings to increase comfort in the room. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of the facade on the shophouse building on the acquisition of the OTTV value or Overall Thermal Transfer Value as an energy-saving measure. This study also identifies the possibility of utilizing solar panels to save energy use. This research method is a quantitative study with an approach to calculating the OTTV value for each area of the outer wall of the building and calculating the need for solar panels, and simulating solar shading with Ecotect software. The results showed that the OTTV calculation results in the shophouse building were 34.13 W/m2; this still met the overall thermal transfer value limit on the outer or inner walls of the building based on SNI 03-6389-2011. The possibility of using solar panels for energy saving is by installing solar panels with a capacity of 100 wp (Watt Peak). This study calculates the use of 112.5 solar panels with a need of 3,750 Ampere of battery to install in the shophouse. The front shop faces the west. It can contribute to the more heat absorbed. Ecotec simulation conducted in this study shows that the front facade of the building is exposed to direct sunlight from 14:00 to 18:00 WIB. Therefore, the shadings are recommended to install on this side.

Dalam Dokumen Rencana Pengembangan Pariwisata Kabupaten (Ripparkab) Aceh Besar Tahun 2020-2034, Kawasan Strategis Pariwisata Kabupaten (KSPK) Rekreasi Pantai Lhoknga merupakan destinasi wisata unggulan Kabupaten Aceh Besar dan memiliki daya tarik wisata yang mengalami kenaikan jumlah wisatawan sehingga menyebabkan kemacetan karena bangkitan dan tarikan perjalanan yang tinggi terutama pada hari libur. Namun, angkutan umum belum tersedia untuk melayani kawasan tersebut dimana penyediaan angkutan umum pada lokasi wisata merupakan hal yang wajib sesuai dengan yang tertuang dalam PP. No Nomor 50 Tahun 2011 Tentang Rencana Induk Pembangunan Kepariwisataan Nasional Tahun 2010-2022 dan PM. No 74 Tahun 2014 Tentang Angkutan Jalan. Penyediaan angkutan umum ini perlu disediakan untuk mengakomodir aksesibilitas dan mobilitas wisatawan dari dan ke sumber pasar wisatawan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik sosial ekonomi dan perjalanan wisatawan yang merupakan salah satu faktor dalam penyediaan angkutan umum. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan kuesioner sebagai data primer dan analisis statistik deskriptif untuk metode pengolahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan wisatawan didominasi oleh perempuan sebanyak 70,9% dengan rentang umur 17-26 tahun sebanyak 52,8%, memiliki kendaraan pribadi sebanyak 92% dan rata-rata 95% menggunakannya untuk mengakses lokasi wisata Pantai.

Population growth of 3.77% in a period of 10 years in Peukan Bada District has the impact of changing the use of space from previously agricultural land to built-up land in the form of housing and other supporting facilities. This can affect the suitability of spatial use in 2020 to the spatial use of the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). The purpose of this study is to identify the suitability of the spatial use of Peukan Bada Sub-district in 2020 to the spatial use of the Aceh Besar District RTRW in 2012-2032 and identify factors that encourage the suitability of the use of the space. The approach used is descriptive quantitative, analytical method to identify suitability of space utilization using supervised classification method with Maximum Likelihood Classification (MLC) algorithm and then overlay method using ArcGIS 10.8. To see the factors that encourage the suitability of space utilization using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results showed that there were 2 classifications of suitability for spatial use in Peukan Bada District in 2020, namely the classification according to the area of 3046.2 Ha (84%) and the classification not according to the area of 578.8 Ha (16%). Factors that affect the suitability of space utilization are population density, land price, population growth ratio, rainfall and the number of new housing units.

Smart building is a building concept that can provide automated technology to meet service convenience and building efficiency. This concept was born as a result of human welfare and changes in modern lifestyles that demand a high level of service and management of the building environment. Smart building systems have goals that can reduce operating costs, ensure the use of buildings, and prevent the frequent replacement of building equipment. The benefits provided if this concept is applied are also many for both building owners and users. The requirements for implementing this concept are to have the latest automation system, have a good network infrastructure, and provide adequate telecommunications facilities. Currently, Indonesia is in the process of implementing this concept, Indonesia's opportunities are quite large but there are also several challenges that Indonesia must face such as the lack of human resource capabilities (HR), lack of development technology, and high investment costs. Several commercial and public buildings in Indonesia are trying to implement the smart building concept, one of which is the Senayan City Shopping Center in Jakarta. Although the implementation is not optimal, it can still be developed.
