Abstract

This research discusses the development of teaching materials needed in the world of education. This research uses a skinative research method with secondary data methods, namely through literature studies. Teaching materials are one of the most important components in the learning process, and can help students learn more easily. Instruction consists of two categories: printed instructions and non-printed instructions. One type of printed teaching material is textbooks. Teaching materials can be defined as any type of material used to help teachers or instructors carry out teaching and learning activities in the classroom. Print teaching materials through the media of books, handouts, maps, magazines, etc. Non-print teaching materials audio programs, display teaching materials, overhead transparencies (OHT) models, videos and computer-assisted teaching materials. Knowledge of teaching materials is needed so that students can apply it in the form of product development or research related to teaching materials. In learning biology, delivery requires teaching material media as a lat in channeling knowledge.

Abstract

This research provides an understanding of why the Discovery-Inquiry learning method as a means to deliver the classification of living things. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, descriptive by conveying clearly what is meant by discovery-inquiry and why it is appropriate when implemented in the material of the diversity of living things. Education is a planned and conscious effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process in which students actively develop their potential, discovery-inquiry is an option in its delivery. Discovery-inquiry is a learning process where a concept is not presented in its final form, but students must organize their own learning by finding out these concepts. Meanwhile, the classification of living things classifies living things based on certain characteristics. So, of course it is very related to the discovery-inquiry method which requires students to play a greater role than the teacher by finding and ensuring the object under study whether it is in accordance with the theory or finding something new.

Abstract

English plays an important role as international language among other languages. Speaking as one of important English skills is considered important to be taught. Speaking is skill that taught with other language skills. In fact, speaking is not an easy skill to be mastered. Most of junior high school students are unable to speak English well. One of alternative to help teacher to create natural communication is by using picture. The design of this research is classroom action research (CAR) which aims at solving problem experienced by classroom teacher to increase the students’ speaking ability by using describing as technique (Aqib 2006), as cited in research Clark (1972). This research has done in two cycles. The objective of this study is to describe how wholesome describing picture can improve speaking ability of seventh grade students in SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang. The researcher hopes that the result of this study useful either theoretically and practically to motivate students and teacher creative in learning process especially in speaking class. the teaching and learning process becomes much better. Before implementing picture technique the students have low self-esteem, fear of making mistakes, shyness and lack of motivation. After implementing the technique they feel confident, did not shy again, and talk with high voice. It also brings good impact on increasing the learning process and they can work as a group. The result on language function showed that in describing picture they speak with occasional hesitation, use adequate vocabulary, use comprehensible pronunciation, and use complex sentence in asking responding.

Abstract

Think-aloud is one of the transactional strategies that joint process of teachers and students working together to construct understandings of text as they interact with it. The aim of this thesis to investigate that do students who were taught by think aloud strategy has better achievement in the reading narrative text. Toward 23 total students of eight grade of Mts Al-azhar Malang, consist of 11 Males and 12 females of the sample, the researchers conduct the experiment research by distributing 20 pre and post questions of narrative text test. In finding, the mean of total reading test score of 23 students before being taught by using think aloud strategy is (55.43). After getting treatment, the mean score of students’ reading is (71.30). It means that the students’ score is improved. It means that there is significant effect before and after being taught using think aloud strategy toward students reading achievement of narrative text. Based on the result, it can be concluded that think aloud was effective strategy in teaching reading comprehension.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce a product that will help the teaching and learning process during face-to-face learning conditions. The initial product that will be developed through validation tests by several experts, including material, learning, and media experts. then conducted small group trials and large group trials. After all the stages have been passed, the expected results can help students to understand sports course material during face-to-face sessions. the results of a series of small group trials showed a percentage of 82.2 percent, and the large group obtained a percentage of 86.6 percent.

Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept where an object has the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. The aim of the research is to provide a general overview of the research literature on the use of IoT for mathematics learning based on bibliometric analysis of a number of journal articles published in the Scopus database and to identify scientific gaps as a reference for further research. The method used is bibliometric analysis assisted by VOSviewer software. The research results show an increasing trend in research on the use of IoT in mathematics learning and several topics/keywords were found that can be used as a basis for further research. Research in Indonesia in the 2018-2023 period, related to IoT on Mathematics Learning in mathematics subjects, was minimally carried out. This is also a gap for further research (gap research) to carry out IoT research on Mathematics Learning. The conclusion is that bibliometric analysis provides information and knowledge about the development of research on the use of IoT in mathematics learning for the possibility of carrying out further new research.
