Abstract

The research was conducted to examine the inhibiting factors and the role of teachers in developing students' moral behavior at MTs Sunan Kalijaga Bojong. This study employed a qualitative research design with a case study approach, utilizing interviews and documentation techniques with Islamic Education (PAI) teachers as the primary research subjects. The findings reveal several factors that hinder the development of students’ moral behavior. These factors include family background, social environmental influences, and the pervasive impact of social media, all of which contribute to the challenges faced by PAI teachers in promoting ethical conduct among students. In response to these challenges, teachers implement various strategies to foster moral development. These strategies include providing guidance and counseling regarding noble character, delivering warnings and sanctions for inappropriate behavior, consistently mentoring students, and modeling ethical behavior through daily interactions. Furthermore, the research highlights the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents to monitor and reinforce students’ moral development beyond the school environment. By adopting a holistic approach that integrates classroom instruction, parental involvement, and practical guidance, teachers can effectively cultivate students who demonstrate ethical awareness, responsibility, and social consciousness. This study underscores the critical role of teachers in shaping morally upright individuals and offers insights for enhancing character education programs in Indonesian junior high schools

Abstract

The researchers selected the 2011 film Melancholia, written and directed by Lars von Trier, as the primary source of analysis because it offers significant insights that are relevant to contemporary society, particularly in understanding psychological and social phenomena. The film portrays circumstances and conditions that closely resemble issues experienced in modern life, especially those related to mental health and social instability. This study employs a qualitative research methodology to analyze the data presented in the film. As a science fiction drama, Melancholia provides a symbolic representation of human responses to crisis and existential threat. The researchers apply both sociological and psychological approaches in examining the narrative and characters. The sociological approach utilizes social conflict theory and social chaos theory to interpret the breakdown of social order and interpersonal tensions. Meanwhile, the psychological approach focuses on social rejection, anxiety disorders, and depression as experienced by the main characters. Through these analytical frameworks, it can be concluded that Melancholia (2011) depicts the genuine struggles of two sisters confronting severe mental health challenges with different underlying causes. Ultimately, the film illustrates resilience, emotional complexity, and human vulnerability in facing catastrophic uncertainty

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of Project Based Learning (PjBL) strategies in improving the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. PjBL is a learning model that is oriented towards real-life activities and is student-centered, where students are actively involved in completing projects that require them to use analytical, evaluation, and problem-solving skills—the main components of critical thinking. This model not only emphasizes mastery of concepts, but also the development of higher-order thinking skills through collaborative and exploratory activities that are relevant to students' real-world situations. Data analysis involved comparing critical thinking test scores before and after learning using PjBL as well as qualitative descriptions of changes in student attitudes and engagement. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL strategy significantly improved students' critical thinking skills. Students became more active in asking questions, discussing, and solving problems independently and collaboratively during the project work. In addition to improving critical thinking test scores, students were also able to apply learning concepts in real contexts through project products such as life cycle models or ecosystem maps, which served as concrete evidence of their understanding and critical thinking skills. In addition, the project-based learning process fostered students' learning motivation and self-confidence. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) also helps teachers manage learning that focuses on 21st-century skills, such as collaboration, creativity, and decision-making. Challenges, such as time management and varying student abilities, can be addressed with careful planning and teacher guidance throughout the project cycle. Overall, the Project-Based Learning strategy is effective as a learning approach in elementary schools to develop students' critical thinking skills while enriching learning experiences that are meaningful and applicable to everyday life

Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze the suitability of sustainable rice paddy land in Bekasi Regency, West Java, an area experiencing rapid urbanization. The research employed a quantitative spatial approach using multi-temporal satellite imagery from the last five years processed through Google Earth Engine (GEE) and ArcGIS 10.3. Land suitability evaluation was conducted by integrating the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Matching Evaluation Approach (MEA) to determine parameter weights and classify land suitability levels. The parameters analyzed included rainfall, temperature, slope, soil type, soil pH, erosion, groundwater recharge, and land use. Land suitability was classified into four categories: very suitable (S1), moderately suitable (S2), marginally suitable (S3), and not suitable (N). The results indicate that marginally suitable land (S3) dominates the study area, accounting for 42.21%, followed by moderately suitable land (S2) at 30.44%. Very suitable land (S1) covers only 1.80% of the area, while more than 23% falls into unsuitable categories (N1–N2), mainly in northern coastal areas affected by salinity and drainage constraints. These findings highlight the importance of water availability and soil conditions as dominant factors in rice land suitability. The study provides essential spatial information to support sustainable agricultural planning and land conservation strategies in Bekasi Regency

Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is one of the major health problems faced by various countries in the world. Due to the urgency of the antibiotic resistance problem, efforts to identify new lead compounds from new sources and analysis to determine their bioactivity are urgently needed for antibiotic development. One of the invertebrate organisms studied in relation to its potential to produce secondary metabolites that have antibacterial properties is the Gastropoda class which is included in the Mollusca phylum. Gastropoda consists of more than 80 thousand species and differs from other classes in the Mollusca phylum because of its torso body. Gastropoda has 3 sub-classes, namely: Prosobranchia, Opistobranchia, and Pulmonata. One of the land Gastropod species is snails, both those with shells (snails) and naked snails (slugs) which are included in the Pulmonata sub-class. Snail mucus is used as a traditional medicine and also as an innovative natural product to treat various health problems. Since Gastropods include a large number of species that live in various ecosystems, but research on the antibacterial potential of their secondary metabolites is still limited, this review aims to summarize research that explores the antibacterial effects of secondary metabolites in mucus produced by species in the class of Gastropods that live on land (terrestrial gastropoda) especially various species of terrestrial snails. The preparation of this review article uses a literature study method with a systematic approach. The articles used are international articles that discuss the antibacterial activity of secondary metabolites in mucus produced by snails. Articles were obtained from the PubMed database using the keywords snails AND antibacterial from the period 2000 to 2023, the period before 2000 was excluded due to the very minimal number of articles. The results obtained from the journal review that has been carried out are the presence of bioactive components such as peptides, glycopeptides, and other secondary metabolites found in the mucus of several species of land snails. These bioactive components have antibacterial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Abstract

In football, one of the most dominant basic techniques used is passing. Passing in football aims to pass the ball to teammates in order to create space, so that players can score goals against the opponent's goal and can maintain the defense area for defenders. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the 4-2 training model using two touches on the passing and shooting skills of Mandalika FC U-17 football athletes. This study is a quasi experiment. The design used in this study is "Two Group Pretest Posttest Design" Experimental method with non-separate samples means that researchers only have one group. The results of the study showed that some children's lower passing abilities increased drastically, some even decreased their abilities. This is because this type of research is a quasi experiment, meaning that researchers cannot fully monitor children's activities outside the training/treatment schedule given by researchers. It is possible for children whose abilities have increased drastically because the child also continues to practice outside the training/treatment schedule given by researchers. While for children whose abilities have decreased, it is possible that the child did not take the training seriously, and there were also children who were sick at the time of posttest data collection so that their abilities were not optimal. that there is a significant effect of paired passing training on the ability of underhand passing of Mandalika fc. u-17 football school students, the t-value is 6.574> t-table 2.09, and the significance value is 0.000 <0.05, and the percentage increase is 37.69%.
