Abstract

Hemodialysis services are essential therapy for chronic kidney failure patients who require regular service continuity, so that the smooth flow of claims to BPJS Kesehatan is a determining factor in maintaining the quality and continuity of service. However, practice in the field still shows that there are obstacles in the form of incomplete documents, delays in submission, and data inconsistency with the INA-CBGs standard, which has an impact on delayed disbursement of claims and the potential for disruption of hospital financial stability. This study aims to analyze the completeness of the hemodialysis claim file management system at Cililin Hospital, focusing on the level of inter-unit integration, the effectiveness of procedures, and factors that affect claim approval. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, involving the analysis of 80 claim files for the April 2025 period determined through the Slovin formula, as well as data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results showed that the average level of claim completeness reached 86%, with the most complete patient identity component (90%) and the lowest completeness of medical records (81.25%). Of the total claims, 87.5% were approved and 12.5% were rejected, with the finding of a significant correlation between the completeness of the file and the level of claim approval. The conclusion of the study emphasized that the integration of hospital information systems, cross-unit coordination, and improving officer competence are the keys to the effectiveness of claims management. Theoretically, this study strengthens the information integration-based claims management literature, while practically providing improvement recommendations for regional hospitals to ensure the continuity of hemodialysis services and the financial sustainability of hospitals.

Abstract

The use of Electronic Medical Records (RME) is an important part of the process of digitizing health services which requires the active participation of health workers as the main users. This study aims to explore the perception of health workers on the implementation of RME at Cililin Hospital and its relationship with job satisfaction levels. The study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, involving 50 respondents who were purposively selected from a total of 200 health workers. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews and observations, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify the main themes of the respondents' experiences. The results showed that most health workers showed a positive perception of the use of RME (86.53%) and expressed satisfaction with the system (88%), with a significant relationship between perception and satisfaction (p-value = 0.005). Factors that affect positive perceptions include improving work efficiency, data accuracy and security, and ease of access to information, while the main obstacles are related to the limitations of network infrastructure and the need for continuous training. This study concludes that the perception of health workers plays a crucial role in determining RME acceptance, in accordance with the Technology Acceptance Model framework. The theoretical contribution of this research lies in strengthening the study of the acceptance of technology in the health sector, while its practical contribution provides direction for hospital management and policymakers to expand training programs, improve digital infrastructure support, and improve internal communication. The research recommendations emphasize the importance of policies that are responsive to local conditions and the need for follow-up studies with wider hospital coverage to make the results more representative.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the healthcare sector has driven the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, which play a crucial role in the efficient and effective management of patient data. However, information security in these systems remains a major challenge, given the high sensitivity of patient data and the need to maintain confidentiality. This study aims to analyze the information security aspects of patient data in the Hospital Management Information System at Kebonjati Hospital. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through semi-structured interviews with three hospital registration officers. The results indicate that SIMRS already implements user authentication and access control, but significant weaknesses exist, such as the lack of an auto-logout feature, a weak audit trail mechanism, and data validation and integrity issues. Furthermore, IT infrastructure constraints and a lack of staff training also impact patient data security. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the hospital update its system, enhance information security training, and adopt security policies based on international standards such as ISO 27001. Implementing these measures is expected to strengthen patient data security and improve the quality of healthcare services at Kebonjati Hospital.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between individual stress levels and psychological safety among employees in an automotive components manufacturing company located in Cikarang, West Java. The manufacturing environment—marked by strict production targets, rotating shifts, and high precision demands—often generates psychological strain that may influence employees’ sense of interpersonal safety at work. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed, involving 238 permanent employees from a large-scale automotive components manufacturer. Individual stress levels were measured using the Stress subscale of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 (DASS-21), while psychological safety was assessed using the Team Psychological Safety Scale (TPSS). Results revealed a significant negative correlation between individual stress levels and psychological safety (r = –0.46, p < .001), indicating that higher stress is associated with lower perceptions of psychological safety. The strongest association emerged in the Leader Interaction dimension (r = –0.51), followed by Peer Relationship and Team Climate. These findings support the Job Demands–Resources (JD–R) Model, suggesting that when personal and social resources are insufficient to offset high demands, employees’ psychological well-being and openness to interpersonal risk decline. Overall, the study underscores the importance of supportive leadership, open communication, and a collaborative team culture in maintaining psychological safety in high-pressure manufacturing environments.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global health issue with an increasing prevalence, particularly among the elderly population. One of the major complications of CKD is anemia, which negatively impacts patient outcomes, leading to reduced quality of life and increased morbidity and mortality. Folic acid supplementation has been proposed as an effective intervention for managing anemia in CKD patients, but its clinical impact remains controversial. This systematic review aims to evaluate the role of folic acid supplementation in reducing anemia-related complications in CKD patients. Methods: A systematic search was conducted using PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published between 2014 and 2024. Included studies were those assessing the effects of folic acid supplementation on anemia in CKD patients. The Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool was used to assess the quality of the studies. Data on hemoglobin levels, erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) use, and other anemia-related outcomes were extracted and synthesized narratively. Results: Five RCTs involving 681 patients were included. Folic acid supplementation consistently improved hemoglobin levels and sideremia in CKD patients across all studies. Three studies reported significant reductions in inflammation markers. One study demonstrated a protective effect of folic acid against contrast-induced nephropathy. Adverse events were rare, with only one study reporting a slight increase in uric acid levels in some patients. Discussion: Folic acid supplementation appears to be an effective and safe intervention for improving anemia in CKD patients, particularly in those with resistance to conventional iron therapies. The benefits include improved hemoglobin levels, reduced inflammation, and potential protection against nephropathy. However, further long-term studies are needed to evaluate the stability of these effects and their impact on patient outcomes.

Abstract

The utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) plays a central role in the digital transformation of healthcare services by improving efficiency, documentation accuracy, and evidence-based clinical decision-making. Although national policies such as the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 24/2022 and the SATUSEHAT interoperability platform have accelerated EMR adoption, challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, workflow resistance, and uneven digital literacy among healthcare workers. This study aims to analyze differences in service quality indicators before and after EMR implementation at Hospital X, including registration waiting time, pharmacy waiting time, medication errors, SOAP completeness, and CDSS adoption. Using a quantitative pre–post comparison design and Mann-Whitney analysis, results show significant improvements across all indicators (p < 0.001). Registration and pharmacy waiting times decreased, medication errors declined, while SOAP completeness and CDSS usage increased markedly. All variables demonstrated large effect sizes (r = 0.587–0.924), indicating strong practical impacts of EMR implementation. These findings confirm that EMR contributes significantly to enhancing service efficiency, patient safety, and clinical documentation quality, providing valuable empirical evidence for strengthening digital health strategies in hospital settings.

Abstract

Objective: To review the evidence showing the factors associated with inconsistent use of insecticide-treated bed nets (ITN), primarily among pregnant women and households in tropical Africa.  Methods: Literature from the last 11 years was reviewed to identify reasons for inconsistent insecticide-treated bed net use. The review primarily focused on empirical studies covering issues related to pregnant women and households in tropical Africa. The reasons for inconsistent use of ITN were broadly classified as personal and external factors as guided by the socio-ecological model. Results: Personal factors identified include psychosocial barriers, socio-economic barriers, and biological barriers. Within the psychosocial barriers, issues relating to outcome expectations, acceptance, risk perception, misconceptions about malaria etiology, local terminologies, and self-treatment were reported. Income status was the primary focus of the socio-economic barriers, while, breathing difficulty, unfriendly smells and discomforts from reactions to the ITN made up the biological factors. External factors were identified at the interpersonal, organizational, community, and environmental levels. Key themes identified under each level respectively include gender-based issues (Interpersonal), healthcare system (organizational), agency/community practices (community), and heat (environmental). Conclusion: The review revealed barriers to consistent ITN use among pregnant women and households in tropical Africa. Some key barriers to consistent ITN use, identified, include wrong beliefs, misconceptions about malaria etiology, risk perception, weak or no acceptance of the ITN and gender-based issues. To tackle this challenge, in-depth behavior research based on the appropriate use of behavior theories would be needed. This would help to unpack why and how these factors affect insecticide treated net use behavior. The findings from the behavior change research can then be used to design and implement an effective behavior change intervention that would reduce malaria related morbidity and mortality among the target population.

Abstract

Interprofessional relationships within medical teams are a key determinant of healthcare service effectiveness in hospitals. This study aims to examine the dynamics of interprofessional relationships in two hospitals in Tasikmalaya: RSUD Dr. Soekardjo and RS Jasa Kartini. A qualitative case study approach was employed to explore the experiences of medical personnel, involving 15 informants from various health professions through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis. The findings reveal that interprofessional relationships are still predominantly shaped by hierarchical structures, with physicians assuming leading roles in formal settings, while informal interactions exhibit more egalitarian collaboration. Communication barriers including reluctance to challenge doctors' opinions and miscommunication of medical terminology emerge as key challenges to service coordination. The bureaucratic organizational culture in public hospitals reinforces hierarchical dynamics, whereas private hospitals demonstrate greater flexibility yet maintain the dominance of certain medical professions. Local Sundanese cultural values, which emphasize politeness, also influence communication patterns that avoid open confrontation. Individual adaptive strategies such as informal communication channels and participation in collaborative training have emerged as efforts to overcome systemic barriers. This study concludes that improving interprofessional relationships in hospitals requires organizational culture transformation, enhanced cross-professional communication skills, and collaborative training that is sensitive to local sociocultural contexts.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the methods and strategies of Islamic da’wah. Social media, as a dominant communication platform among millennials, offers new opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of conveying Islamic messages. This study aims to examine the role of social media in improving the effectiveness of Islamic da’wah among the millennial generation. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved Muslim millennials aged 18–30 who actively access da’wah content through platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation of digital da’wah content, and documentation, and were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that social media significantly enhances da’wah effectiveness through broader accessibility, creative and relatable content delivery, and interactive communication between preachers (da’i) and audiences (mad’u). Visual, concise, and contextually relevant da’wah content aligns well with millennial characteristics and increases engagement and understanding of Islamic teachings. However, challenges such as misinformation, differences in religious interpretations, and varying content credibility remain critical concerns. Therefore, the study emphasizes the importance of preacher credibility, content accuracy, ethical communication, and digital literacy among millennials. Overall, when managed responsibly, social media serves as an effective and modern medium for Islamic da’wah in the digital era.
