Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the suitability of the textbook Easy Steps to Chinese, published in China, for Mandarin language education in Indonesia, focusing on its alignment with the standards established by the Badan Standar, Kurikulum, dan Asesmen Pendidikan (BSKAP) (Agency for Standards, Curriculum, and Educational Assessment) and the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative content analysis method, the research examines the textbook's material, presentation, design, and graphics to assess its effectiveness and relevance in the Indonesian context. The findings indicate that although the textbook provides a well-structured approach with comprehensive teaching materials, it faces challenges in terms of cultural relevance and illustrations that are less suitable for the Indonesian environment. Teachers play a critical role in addressing these gaps by supplementing the textbook with additional materials and cultural adaptations to align with local pedagogical needs and the competency standards of the Merdeka Curriculum. Theoretically, this study highlights the significance of culturally contextualized teaching resources in language acquisition. With proper modifications, Easy Steps to Chinese can serve as an effective resource for Mandarin instruction in Indonesia, though further adjustments are needed to fully align it with the Indonesian educational framework.

Abstract

The incident involving a pilot falling asleep on duty with Batik Air highlights the importance of empathetic and transparent crisis communication in maintaining a company's reputation and public trust. This study aims to analyze the role of emotional approaches in crisis communication and how empathy-driven communication strategies can be used to restore public trust and protect the company's reputation. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, analyzing data from media reports, official company statements, and relevant crisis communication literature. The findings indicate that communication sensitive to public emotions, including acknowledgment of mistakes, a sincere apology, and the communication of corrective action plans, can significantly ease emotional tensions and enhance customer trust. This study underscores the importance of building emotional connections with the audience through empathy-oriented communication strategies. On the other hand, Batik Air's defensive approach, while based on risk considerations, was not fully effective in alleviating the crisis. The study concludes that a sincere apology and acknowledgment of mistakes are more effective in rebuilding public trust and improving the company's image. The theoretical implications of these findings emphasize the need for integrating both technical and emotional elements in crisis communication strategies, highlighting the necessity for companies to prioritize empathy in their responses to crises.

Abstract

The Technology and Innovation Dissemination Program in Kedungbanteng Village, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, aims to increase melon farmers' productivity through IoT technology and access to revolving funds. This village is known to produce high-quality melons with export potential, but farmers still face significant challenges. The main problems of partners are the low understanding of modern agricultural technology and limited access to capital. Most farmers still rely on conventional methods, such as manual greenhouses, which hinder production efficiency. The solutions offered include two main approaches. The first is the application of IoT technology in melon cultivation in greenhouses to increase productivity and efficiency. The implementation stages include needs identification, sensor installation, and farmer training. Second, farmers are provided access to revolving funds, accompanied by financial management training and the preparation of sustainable business plans. This program is designed to help farmers obtain capital at affordable interest rates and make adopting new technologies more accessible. The method of implementing the activity includes direct training to farmers on the use of IoT technology and financial management, installation and testing of IoT devices in greenhouses, and technical assistance on an ongoing basis. In addition, assistance is carried out by supervising revolving funds and farming training to ensure optimal implementation. The output targets of this program are an increase in melon productivity by 30% in a year, a reduction in operational costs by 20%, and an increase in farmers' understanding of IoT technology and financial management skills. This program is also expected to increase the greenhouse area and farmers' access to capital.

Abstract

The manual detection of diseases in ornamental plants is often slow, inaccurate, and prone to errors. This situation negatively impacts the quality and market value of ornamental plants in Indonesia, which possess high aesthetic and economic value. This study aims to develop a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model based on leaf images to detect and classify ornamental plant diseases quickly and accurately. The methodology involves collecting a dataset of leaf images categorized into five classes: bacterial, fungal, viral, pest-induced, and healthy. The CNN model was trained using the TensorFlow framework and integrated into a web-based application utilizing Laravel and FastAPI to enhance user accessibility. The results indicate that the developed CNN model achieved an accuracy of 89.67%. The implemented application is capable of early detection of ornamental plant diseases with high speed and accuracy, equipped with detection history and treatment recommendation features. This solution demonstrates a significant contribution to the application of artificial intelligence technology in agriculture, particularly in supporting the sustainable health of ornamental plants in Indonesia.

Abstract

The phenomenon of buying and selling used motorcycles without complete legal documentation has become increasingly prevalent in Mompang Jae Village, Panyabungan Utara District, Mandailing Natal Regency. This practice raises significant legal and social concerns, particularly regarding its compliance with Islamic legal principles and potential societal impacts. This study seeks to analyze the validity of such transactions through the framework of Sadd Adz-Dzari’ah, an Islamic legal method aimed at preventing actions that may lead to harm (mafsadah). Furthermore, the research investigates the underlying factors driving the persistence of this practice within the community, despite its apparent risks and ethical implications. By employing an empirical legal approach, integrating a living case study and conceptual analysis, this research collects qualitative data from interviews with 10 informants, including buyers, sellers, and relevant authorities. The findings demonstrate that transactions involving undocumented motorcycles are classified as prohibited (haram) under the Sadd Adz-Dzari’ah principle due to the predominance of potential harms over benefits (maslahat). These harms include financial vulnerability, administrative hurdles, and risks of legal disputes or criminal involvement. In light of these findings, this study recommends proactive measures by authorities to curb such practices and emphasizes the importance of public awareness campaigns to educate the community on the legal and social risks posed by undocumented vehicle transactions. This research contributes to the discourse on Islamic legal compliance and offers practical solutions to address emerging socio-legal challenges in contemporary society.

Abstract

This study discusses the bibliometric analysis of financing for the provision of housing for low-income communities (MBR) in the Jabodetabekpunjur agglomeration area, with a focus on the development of a sustainable financing structure involving synergy between the central government, regional governments, state-owned enterprises, the private sector, and international institutions. The analysis shows that areas such as Jabodetabekpunjur face a significant housing backlog due to rapid urbanization and population growth, so innovations such as endowment-based financing schemes, flexible subsidies, and cross-sector collaboration are needed. The strategies include simplifying bureaucracy, optimizing land assets, strengthening coordination between agencies, and involving local governments and CSR in housing provision. Programs such as the Indonesia Green Affordable Housing Program (IGAHP) also propose to support environmentally friendly financing. This study provides policy recommendations and innovation strategies to achieve the target of building three million inclusive and sustainable livable homes.

Abstract

Bank liquidation has significant legal implications, particularly for debtors, such as developers, who use certificates of ownership on land as collateral for loans. Law Number 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector regulates bank liquidation through asset liquidation and debt collection processes, which impact the legal standing of debtors, especially concerning the transfer or sale of pledged assets. This study examines the legal status of certificates of ownership used as collateral in banks undergoing liquidation and evaluates the legal protection available to certificate owners. Additionally, it analyzes judicial considerations in protecting developers' rights in cases involving bank liquidation. This research adopts a normative legal approach, utilizing library research techniques for data collection and qualitative descriptive analysis for data interpretation. The findings reveal that developers, as debtors, remain legally obligated to repay debts even if the bank holding the collateral undergoes liquidation. However, legal uncertainties arise regarding the status of certificates of ownership used as collateral, as such assets may be sold through auctions despite the developer's expectation of loan settlement. Consequently, ensuring legal protection for developers is crucial to safeguard their rights, prevent unauthorized transfers or seizures of collateral, and promote transparency in the liquidation process overseen by the Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS). The study highlights the need for clear legal frameworks to balance creditor and debtor rights, ensuring fairness and legal certainty during bank liquidation.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media exposure on political participation among Generation Z Buddhists in Indonesia during the 2024 elections. Elections serve as a democratic mechanism allowing the populace to make decisions through majority votes. Social media has become a primary tool for political campaigns, especially targeting Generation Z, who are more active on digital platforms than traditional media. This research employs a quantitative method by surveying 400 respondents aged 17–26 using purposive sampling. The independent variable is social media exposure, measured through dimensions such as type, frequency, and duration of media use, while the dependent variable is political participation, both offline and online. Linear regression analysis shows that social media exposure significantly influences political participation (t = 2.779; sig. = 0.006 < 0.05). Instagram and TikTok are the dominant platforms, with peak usage occurring between 7:01 PM and midnight. Offline participation primarily involves discussing political issues, while online participation focuses on consuming political information. The findings reveal that social media exposure accounts for 19% of the variance in political participation, supporting the Stimulus-Response theory. This research underscores the importance of social media in enhancing political awareness among Generation Z and recommends future studies explore additional variables such as psychological and social needs and political knowledge.

Abstract

Stunting remains a national health priority issue, including in the Depok City Government with a prevalence of 19.8% of toddlers experiencing chronic malnutrition. In addition, low community participation, although intervention programs have been carried out by the government. The purpose of this study was to examine the level of community participation, identify obstacles, and formulate strategies to increase participation in handling stunting. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative, data collection through in-depth interviews with Posyandu cadres, mothers of toddlers, and health workers, and document analysis. Data processing was carried out thematically using QDA Miner 6.0 software. The results showed that community participation was mostly symbolic, and at the informing and consulting level with the main contribution being attendance at Posyandu activities and basic education and limited involvement in decision-making. The main obstacles include minimal education, less than optimal cross-sector coordination, and limited access to health services and technology. The proposed strategies include technology-based education, ongoing cadre training, local community empowerment, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration. The main finding of this study is a participation model based on the penta helix approach, involving the government, community, private sector, academics, and media, to improve the effectiveness of stunting management in a sustainable manner. The findings of the model are expected to be the basis for developing public health policies based on inclusive participation in improving social welfare.
