The Indonesian Journal of Primary Education is a scientific periodical published twice a year (June-December) that publishes the results of original research on primary education and primary school teacher education. This journal aims to develop concepts, theories, perspectives, paradigms, and methodologies within the scope of basic education and primary school teacher education including curriculum, teaching materials, media, methods, and evaluation of primary school learning. Since 2017, this journal has been published by the UPI PGSD Study Program, Tasikmalaya Campus with Himpunan Dosen PGSD Indonesia (the Indonesian PGSD Lecturer Association). Abstract

The teaching-learning process is specifically designed for the benefit of students, with the aim of making them feel happy and motivated in learning. However, many teachers still struggle to enhance students' learning motivation, especially in the subject of science, specifically the five senses. This research aims to create a game-based learning media product considered valid by media and subject matter experts, practical for use by teachers and students, and effective in improving students' learning motivation. This research and development used the (RD) ADDIE model. The research results indicate that the PAKLEK media can be effectively applied in learning, as evidenced by validation results from subject matter and media experts averaging 88%, with a valid category. In the practicality test, the PAKLEK media obtained an average score of 94%, with a highly practical category, according to practitioners, namely users in small group trials and field trials. The practicality of the media obtained 96.5%, with a highly effective category. Additionally, the survey results on student motivation showed a significant increase, from 56% to 94%, indicating very high effectiveness. The N-Gain test also showed highly effective results, with a score of 0.87. Thus, it can be concluded that the PAKLEK media for the five senses subject is suitable for enhancing elementary school students' motivation

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter telah diterapkan dalam ekstrakurikuler kepramukaan di SDN Mojolangu 2 Malang. Pembina pramuka memiliki pemahaman yang baik mengenai kepramukaan dan pendidikan karakter, namun pada implementasinya mengalami kesulitan karena adanya keterbatasan jumlah pembina pramuka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter dan karakter yang terlihat dalam ekstrakurikuler kepramukaan golongan penggalang pada peserta didik SDN Mojolangu 2 Malang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan subjek penelitian pembina pramuka, penanggung jawab ekstrakurikuler, kepala sekolah, guru kelas, dan peserta didik golongan penggalang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Pelaksanaan dilakukan setiap hari Jumat dengan kegiatan dan strategi bermacam-macam. Hambatan yang muncul adalah biaya, cuaca, sarana dan prasarana dengan manfaat memperoleh ilmu pengetahuan dan pendidikan karakter. Karakter yang terlihat adalah kelima nilai utama pendidikan karakter yang terdiri dari religius, nasionalisme, gotong royong, integritas, dan kemandirian.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the critical thinking skills of grade 04 Plumbon 03 Public Elementary Schools in the project to strengthen the profile of the Pancasila Merdeka Curriculum and the results of this study are expected to be used as a reference source for research in the field of critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive research method. data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation while data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman model, namely through several processes of data collection, reduction, and presentation. Research time from May to June 2023, location in Bulu Hamlet, Plumbon, Mojolaban, Sukoharjo. This study used observation, interview, and documentation methods involving all 9 grade IV students and 1 class teacher. The results of the study can be concluded that the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Plumbon 03 in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) are high because they have mastered the five indicators of critical thinking skills, namely observation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. This can happen because it is supported by factors of critical thinking skills, namely basic cognitive abilities, experience, interpersonal skills, educational and social environment, and the ability to manage emotions.

Abstract

The study was conducted to collect preliminary data on the effectiveness of the use of Discovery Learning models using TALI (Track A Line Idea) for students' critical thinking skills in mathematics subjects in class VI geometry material in elementary schools. The purpose of this study is to describe whether the application of Discovery Learning models using TALI can be effective against critical thinking skills students on mathematics subjects in class VI geometry material in elementary schools, with research design referring to the syntax of Discovery Learning models that are the benchmarks in learning design namely, (1) providing stimulus; (2) identify the problem; (3) collecting data; (4) data processing; (5) verification; and (6) make conclusions. This study uses a One-shot Case Study experimental research design. With the subjects of class VI students with a total of 17 students. Data collection is done by tests, observations and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the motivation and activities of students in Discovery Learning based on TALI are interpreted in high criteria with a percentage range from 84.12% -88.24%. This indicates that Discovery Learning as constructivism learning provides space for students to actively participate in learning by using group learning design and guided discovery so that students keep paying attention to disciplinary aspects in conducting each stage in learning activities. The results of this study indicate that the motivation and activities of students in Discovery Learning based on TALI are interpreted in high criteria with a percentage range from 84.12% -88.24%. Abstract

This research was conducted based on the rapidly advancing technology and the importance of using instructional media to stimulate students' understanding. This study aims to analyze the instructional videos for fifth grade Elementary School. The method used in this research was qualitative descriptive. The data studied were instructional  videos about fractional arithmetic operations that were available on the YouTube and ruangguru applications. The data were analyzed based on the characteristics of the audio-visual instructional media, including: 1) Video clarity; 2) Stand-alone aspect; 3) User friendly; 4) Content representation; 5) Visualization with media; 6) Using high resolution quality and 7) Can be used individually or classically. The results of this study indicated that: The content of each video was quite easy to understand and remember. Videos must be accompanied by worksheets so that students take an active role, not just watching. The language used in each video was simple, easy to understand and used common language. The material presented was quite representative and the video contained stimulation regarding arithmetic operations on fractional numbers. The material contained in the video was equipped with the voice of the presenter which was quite clear and there was also text on the video, but there was no animation. Each video used a resolution high enough to produce a clear image and this video could be used on any computer. Videos can be used individually or classically and videos can be viewed anywhere and anytime. Thus, it can be concluded that the five learning videos have almost fulfilled the characteristics of audio-visual instructional media, it's just that additional animations and worksheets are needed so that the videos can be more interesting and students can play an active role.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the Post Method era in teaching language and literature in elementary school. This study uses a qualitative approach with library study methods or Library Research. Library studies as a data collection technique by conducting study studies on books, literature-literature, records, and reports that have to do with problems solved. This study utilizes journals, materials and relevant information to be collected, read and studied, recorded as guidelines or reference sources. The literature study method in this study can be used as data and data sources regarding the topic of problems. In the post-method era, language teaching is done not only based on certain methods. Language teaching can adopt several different methods and techniques at the same time. So, we can say that even though there are still methods in the post-method era, but we don't depend on certain methods. The first post-method era is not an era where no method is used in Indonesian language and literary teaching. Second, the method used in language teaching can be a combination of several methods in accordance with the teaching needs of Indonesian language and literature.

Abstract

Tujuan   penelitian   ini   adalah   untuk   meningkatkan   hasil   belajar   siswa   dalam pembelajaran IPA materi Sumber Daya Alam menggunakan metode mind map pada siswa kelas IV SDN 01 Rangkasbitung Timur. Hipotesis tindakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode Mind Map dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA kelas IV SDN 01 Rangkasbitung Timur tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN 01 Rangkasbitung Timur yang berjumlah 72  orang yang terdiri dari 36 kelas A dan 36 Kelas B. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari hasil pretest, potest, angket dan dokumentasi. Untuk analisis data kuantitatif tersebut diolah dengan rumus-rumus statistik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian dan pengujian hipotesis dapat disimpulkan bahwa: Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran mind map dengan kelas control yang menggunakan metode ceramah. Hal ini dibuktikan dari analisis perhitungan postes uji dua pihak dengan nilai thitung dari ttabel  yaitu 8,79 2,35, dari data tersebut menujukan adanya perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrolSelain itu didapatkan pula respon peserta didik pada pelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan metode mind map  sangat  baik,  hal  ini  diperoleh  dari  presentase  angket  respon  peserta  didik  sebanyak 84,12% dan 85.64%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study The Influence of the Application of Game Based Learning (GBL) Models Assisted by the Math Games Platform on the Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Fifth Grade Elementary School Student this study uses an experimental quantitative approach to determine whether or not there is a result of a treatment. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Game Based Learning (GBL) model with the help of the Math Games platform on the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students. This study used the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design method, with a subject of 29 students in an elementary school in Kediri Regency which was taken through purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using observation and objective tests. The instrument used was a multiple choice test with 10 questions that had been tested to determine the validity and reliability of the instrument. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with the help of SPSS for Windows version 21. Based on the results, the mean pretest score was 60.35 and the posttest average score was 85.52 with an N-gain percentage of 66%. Analysis of research data was carried out through 2 stages, namely prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the prerequisite test, it was found that the research data were normal and homogeneous (having the same variance). The results of the hypothesis analysis using the paired sample t-test show that the data significance value is 0.000, where 0.000 0.05, which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the game based learning model with an average increase in learning outcomes in the medium category.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika ditinjau dari metakognisi dalam belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian dilakukan di SD Negeri 1 Cieurih dengan sampel siswa  kelas IVA 30 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IV B dengan sampel siswa 30 orang sebagai kelas kontrol yang dilaksanakan pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian menggunakan treatment by level 2 x 2. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis varians dua jalur (ANAVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa  (1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang melalui model problem based learning dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode ekspositori; (2) terdapat interaksi antara metode pembelajaran dan metakognisi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika; (3) Siswa yang memiliki metakognisi belajar tinggi, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika  antara kelompok siswa yang diajar model problem based learning lebih tinggi dari pada kelompok siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode ekspositori; (4) Siswa yang memiliki metakognisi belajar rendah, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika antara kelompok siswa yang diajar menggunakan model problem based learning lebih rendah dari pada kelompok siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode ekspositori.

Abstract

Curriculum is a set of systems consisting of planning, process or implementation, and evaluation dimensions. Awareness of the importance of the curriculum as an integral part of education requires education stakeholders, especially teachers, to always innovate and develop good learning. Curriculum issues are closely related to how the process or implementation of the curriculum is carried out in educational units. This research raises the topic of the quality of curriculum implementation in elementary schools. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the curriculum in elementary schools. This research applied descriptive quantitative. The data collection technique used a questionnaire, which was distributed to elementary school teachers in Indonesia. The number of samples in this study were 290 respondents carried out randomly. Respondents consisted of elementary school teachers from low to high levels throughout Indonesia. The results of this study are that the average implementation of the curriculum that is carried out is still not maximally carried out, both in planning, process and evaluation. This research has implications for fulfilling the quality of curriculum implementation which must be carried out optimally, so that the expected educational goals or curriculum can be achieved.
