The Indonesian Journal of Primary Education is a scientific periodical published twice a year (June-December) that publishes the results of original research on primary education and primary school teacher education. This journal aims to develop concepts, theories, perspectives, paradigms, and methodologies within the scope of basic education and primary school teacher education including curriculum, teaching materials, media, methods, and evaluation of primary school learning. Since 2017, this journal has been published by the UPI PGSD Study Program, Tasikmalaya Campus with Himpunan Dosen PGSD Indonesia (the Indonesian PGSD Lecturer Association). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan minat membaca dan kemampuan memahami wacana dengan keterampilan menulis narasi Siswa Kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Sukaraja gugus satu, dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 112 orang siswa. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah teknik statistik regresi dan korelasi Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada korelasi positif antara (1) Minat membaca dengan keterampilan menulis narasi (2) Kemampuan memahami wacana dengan keterampilan menulis narasi (3) Minat membaca dan kemampuan memahami wacana dengan keterampilan menulis narasi. Berarti hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara minat membaca dan kemampuan memahami wacana dengan keterampilan menulis narasi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study  Construction of Elementary School Students in Responding to Pros and Cons Issues (Qualitative Descriptive Study of the Functions of Discussion Texts). Critical thinking plays an important role in human daily life. Someone who has the ability to think critically can also develop other thinking skills, such as the ability to solve problems and make decisions. Critical thinking is an activity in response to a certain phenomenon that occurs due to a number of deficiencies. Critical thinking skills are important to be mastered by students, in the midst of the rapid development of science and technology, causing the sources and essence of information received by students to vary greatly. Students are required to have the ability to choose and sort out good and correct information to enrich their thinking assets (Firdaus, 2019). Another thing that is the reason is that students are one of the resources that have high potential, which must be directed with adequate thinking skills. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The instruments used to collect data in this study were data cards with the object of research in the form of students' writings. Based on this research, it can be seen that students are able to think critically with a very simple pattern. The function of the text they build is to convince and evaluate with a direct structure to the point.

Abstract

Berfikir kritis merupakan kemampuan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap orang. Di era sekarang ini setiap orang dituntut untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritisnya. Kemampuan mengorganisir terhadap suatu ide gagasan sebagian kecil dari kemampuan berfikir kritis. Dewasa ini sebagian siswa belajar IPS hanya untuk mendapatkan nilai yang bagus sehingga tak sedikit dari mereka mengambil jalan pintas yaitu meniru atau mencontek pekerjaan teman. Mereka hanya berpikir bagaimana caranya mendapatkan nilai yang bagus tanpa ada rasa senang atau bermakna. Hal ini juga dialami siswa-siswi SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dimana menggambarkan sebuah fenomena global dengan penyelesaian masalah secara mendalam. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru ketika dalam pembelajaran yaitu sebagian besar siswa kurang bersemangat mengikuti ceramah dan perintah guru, di sesi tanya jawab sedikit siswa yang aktif menjawab pertanyaan guru. Penelitian ini memaparkan seberapa penting peran guru dan keefektifan model belajar Discovery Learning guru. Hasil dari penelitian model belajar ini siswa dapat melakukan berbagai kegiatan menghimpun informasi, membandingkan, mengkategorikan, menganalisis, mengintegrasikan, mereorganisasikan bahan serta membuat simpulan. Dalam studi ini guru tidak hanya informatif, namun juga sebagai motivatif dan guru dapat menjadi fasilitator yang mengarahkan siswa agar terlibat secara aktif dalam seluruh proses pembelajaran dengan diawali pada masalah yang berkaitan dengan konsep yang dipelajari.

Abstract

This development research is motivated by the unavailability of mathematics learning media that support the learning process, especially on fraction multiplication material. The purpose of this development research is to determine the validity and practicality of Fraction Triangle Card learning media. For this reason, research was conducted using the Research and Development (RD) method using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) development model to test the validity and practicality of the Fraction Triangle Card learning media. This development research was conducted at SDN Cilandak Barat 04 Pagi in the academic year 2023/2024 odd semester. For the validation test, this learning media was conducted by three experts, namely language experts, media experts, and material experts while to test practicality it was carried out in stages, namely teacher practical trials, small group trials, and large group trials. The results showed that the Fraction Triangle Card learning media was very valid based on the results of the calculation of linguists with a percentage assessment of 84%, media experts with a percentage assessment of 90%, and material experts with a percentage of 88%. The results of the teacher's practicality trial obtained a percentage assessment of 93.3%, the results of the small group trial obtained a percentage assessment of 98.61%, and the results of the large group trial obtained a percentage assessment of 94.4%. Based on the results of the study, the Fraction Triangle Card learning media is very valid and practical to be used by fifth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

      Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya minat dan antusias siswa dalam kegiatan membaca cerita sehingga tidak bisa memahami isi dari cerita tersebut. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti memilih media konkret cerita bergambar terhadap peningkatan membaca pemahaman siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini secara umum yaitu bagaimana pengaruh media cerita bergambar  terhadap membaca pemahaman pada teks dongeng di kelas III SD Negeri Mancogeh Kecamatan Cipedes Kota Tasikmalaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini secara umum untuk mengetahui pengaruh media cerita bergambar  terhadap membaca pemahaman pada teks dongeng, siswa kelas III SD Negeri Mancogeh Kecamatan Cipedes Kota Tasikmalaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan bentuk Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan teknik tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini  adalah siswa kelas III SD Negeri Mancogeh, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel berupa sampel jenuh. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes berupa soal uraian. Analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan Microsoft Excel 2010 dan program SPSS versi 16.0. Setelah penelitian ini dilakukan, diperoleh data kemudian data tersebut diolah dan dianalisis, sehingga temuan yang diperoleh membuktikan bahwa kenaikan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Pada kelas kontrol kenaikan nilai rata-ratanya dari 41,36 menjadi 70. Sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen kenaikan rata-ratanya adalah 48,64 menjadi 79,54. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tersebut diperoleh informasi bahwa peningkatan pemahaman siswa pada teks dongeng di kelas yang menggunakan media cerita bergambar lebih baik dari pada peningkatan siswa di kelas yang tidak menggunakan media cerita bergambar. Maka dari itu, disimpulkan bahwa media cerita bergambar mempunyai pengaruh terhadap membaca pemahaman siswa pada teks dongeng di Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

One aspect that plays an important role in life is education, especially in learning mathematics, where students first avoid it and think that mathematics is difficult, so this makes students' interest in learning decrease. The aim of this research is to find out the influence of giving rewards and punishment on students' interest in learning in mathematics subjects. The research method used in this research uses a quantitative approach with the instrument used, namely SPSS 25 for Windows, while the data collection technique uses a questionnaire and data analysis uses the classic assumption test. The research results show that 1) Rewards and punishments simultaneously influence students' interest in learning by 92 percent; 2) Compensation influences interest rates significantly, as shown by the sign value of 0.003 being less than 0.05; and 3) Compensation significantly influences students' interest in learning, as shown by the mark value of 0.002 which is less than 0.05. The punishment variable is the most influential in terms of its significance value. It can be concluded that the rewards and punishments given by teachers or educators to students influence their interest in learning mathematics subjects.

Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran IPA Berbasis Powerpoint Konsep Organ Pernapasan pada Manusia dan Hewan Kelas V Sekolah Dasar, dibimbing oleh: Muhiddin dan Evi Ristiana.Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis powerpoint. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa dan guru kelas V SD Negeri Gaddong I Kecamatan Bontoala Kota Makassar. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan Dick Carey yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu: (1) Tahap analisis kebutuhan, (2) Tahap perancangan pengembangan produk, (3) Tahap Pengembangan produk, (4) Tahap Evaluasi dan revisi produk, (5) Produk akhir. Media pembelajaran berbasis powerpoint ini telah dilakukan proses uji coba yang terdiri dari uji coba satu-satu sebanyak 11 orang, uji coba kelompok kecil sebanyak 21 orang dan uji coba kelompok kelas sebanyak 34 orang siswa. Media pembelajaran berbasis powerpoint yang dikembangkang telah divalidasi oleh pakar dan telah mengalami revisi sehingga didapatkan hasil yang layak untuk dipergunakan dalam pembelajaran.Data hasil penelitian dianalisa dengan metode deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis powerpoint yang dikembangkan bersifat valid dan efektif. Uji coba dilakukan dengan tiga tahap yaitu uji coba satu-satu, uji coba kelompok kecil dan uji coba kelompok kelas untuk melihat kevalidan dan keefektifan media pembelajaran berbasis powerpoint yang telah dikembangkan. Dikatakan valid efektif karena telah memenuhi kriteria dengan hasil (1) hasil validasi media dan materi sangat baik, (2) respon guru terhadap media pembelajaran sangan baik (3) respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran sangat baik (4) aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran sangat aktif, (5) hasil belajar siswa meningkat. Dengan demikian maka hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan dan dikembangkan dalam proses pembelajaran khususnya pada siswa SD Negeri Gaddong I Kecamatan Bontoala Kota Makassar. Sebagai implikasi yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini, disarankan bagi peneliti yang berminat mengembangkan lebi lanjut penelitian ini diharapkan mencermati keterbatasan penelitian ini.

Abstract

This study is driven by the importance of reading materials as an effort to improve students' literacy. The reading content can include knowledge of local wisdom, one example being the traditional food pindang serani from Tugu. This research aims to analyze the development needs of a children’s story flipbook, based on local wisdom, specifically focusing on pindang serani from Kampung Tugu, intended for elementary school students. The research employs a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews with a librarian representative and a class IV teacher, document excavation through the recording and analysis of available children’s storybooks containing local wisdom, and a literature review related to flipbooks about pindang serani from Tugu. The findings indicate that it is important to introduce pindang serani from Tugu to students, and that the criteria for creating the children's story flipbook include local wisdom, children’s stories, and the format of the flipbook presentation. These results serve as a foundation and reference for the development of a children’s story flipbook on pindang serani from Tugu for fourth-grade elementary students.

Abstract

Abstract        Learning design in some elementary schools still uses learning methods that lack meaningful learning and lack of direct student involvement in each learning process so that the competencies possessed are less developed and do not yet involve engineering processes, technology in them. The less meaningful learning design has not been able to meet the demands of the 4C abilities (Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Critical thinking). This research was conducted to produce a learning design product STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in elementary schools based on the ability of 4C. Qualitative research methods are used with data from FGD (Focus Group Discuss) results. Data collected by in-depth interviews and observations. The results showed that the learning design was based on 4C capabilities that had been developed valid and could be used. The validation process is carried out with expert judgment, and the use of the FGD results. The teacher's response to the FGD stated that it was good, easy to understand and could be used in elementary schools. This STEM learning design can be used as an alternative by the teacher in conducting the learning process that involves engineering and technology processes so that it can meet the demands of 4C capabilities.Abstrak        Desain pembelajaran di beberapa sekolah dasar masih menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang kurang memberikan kebermaknaan dalam pembelajaran dan kurangnya keterlibatan siswa secara langsung dalam setiap proses pembelajaran sehingga kompetensi yang dimiliki kurang berkembang serta belum melibatkan proses rekayasa, teknologi di dalamnya. Desain Pembelajaran yang kurang bermakna tersebut belum dapat memenuhi tuntutan kemampuan 4C (Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Critical thinking). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menghasilkan suatu produk desain pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) di sekolah dasar berdasarkan kemampuan 4C. Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan dengan data dari hasil FGD (Focus Group Discuss). Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara secara mendalam dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa desain pembelajaran berdasarkan kemampuan 4C yang telah dikembangkan secara valid dan dapat digunakan. Proses validasi dilakukan dengan petimbangan ahli, dan keterpakaian dari hasil FGD. Respon guru pada FGD  menyatakan sudah baik, mudah dipahami dan dapat digunakan di Sekolah Dasar. Desain pembelajaran STEM ini dapat dijadikan alternatif oleh guru dalam melakukan proses pembelajaran yang melibatkan proses rekayasa serta teknologi sehingga dapat memenuhi tuntutan kemampuan 4C.

Abstract

This study aims to find the concept of learning dance in elementary schools (SD) using puzzle media. Puzzles were chosen because they are educational toys whose prices are relatively affordable, and their use can be adjusted to the child's level of development. This learning concept is needed especially by teachers who do not have the knowledge of dance education but have to teach dance in elementary schools. To achieve this goal, the material object studied is the essence of learning dance in elementary school and puzzles. The formal object is descriptive correlational, an approach that seeks to describe the phenomenon of the material object being studied and the relationship between these material objects. The results of this study are the concept of using dance puzzles in teaching dance in elementary schools. The sources obtained from this research are the concepts constructed from this research that can be applied to dance learning in elementary schools. One of the implications of the results of this research is that teachers who do not have a scientific basis for dance education can teach dance proportionally in elementary schools.
