The Indonesian Journal of Primary Education is a scientific periodical published twice a year (June-December) that publishes the results of original research on primary education and primary school teacher education. This journal aims to develop concepts, theories, perspectives, paradigms, and methodologies within the scope of basic education and primary school teacher education including curriculum, teaching materials, media, methods, and evaluation of primary school learning. Since 2017, this journal has been published by the UPI PGSD Study Program, Tasikmalaya Campus with Himpunan Dosen PGSD Indonesia (the Indonesian PGSD Lecturer Association). Abstract

Keberhasilan suatu lembaga pendidikan salah satunya dapat terlihat dari jumlah pendaftar atau jumlah siswa pada lembaga tersebut. Semakin baik citra lembaga di masyarakat, akan berdampak pada meningkatnya jumlah pendaftar untuk mengecap pendidikan di lembaga tersebut. Dalam Industri jasa Pendidikan, promosi yang paling efektif adalah rekomendasi dari pengguna atas kepuasan dari layanan yang diterima pada saat bertransaksi maupun layanan setelah transaksi dilakukan. Oleh karena itu, layanan akademik yang diberikan memegang peranan penting dalam keberlangsungan suatu lembaga pendidikan.Model kualitas pelayanan yang hingga kini banyak dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam riset pemasaran jasa adalah model servqual (service quality) yang dikembangkan oleh Parasuraman, Zeithaml, dan Berry. Servqual yang dijadikan acuan untuk mengukur kualitas  pelayanan adalah dengan 5 dimensi : (1) kehandalan (reliability), (2) jaminan (assurance), (3) daya tanggap (responsiveness), (4) empati (empathy) dan (5) bukti langsung (tangibles). Model ini dapat diterapkan di berbagai aspek yang terdapat pada pelayanan/jasa yang disediakan oleh lembaga masing-masing. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membahas bagaimana penggunaan metode Servqual ini diterapkan dalam pengukuran kualitas layanan pendidikan

Abstract

One of Malang's top libraries, Muhammadiyah Elementary School No. 4 Library offers excellent facilities, infrastructure, and a range of literacy-boosting programs. The goal of this study is to determine how Muhammadiyah Elementary School No. 4's library contributes to children' increased literacy in the current digital era. The study's technique was qualitative. To gather information about the study subject and study objects in the field, the researcher employed observation, interviewing, and documenting techniques. The chief librarian and the research documents were the study's topics and objects. The chief librarian's interview served as the major data source, while the results of the observation and documentation research served as the secondary data source. The outcomes of the results of the survey analysis showed that both the volume of books checked out and the number of library visitors are not constant. However, it was discovered through the numerous activities carried out by the library that the function of the library in raising the literacy rate of Malang Muhammadiyah Elementary School fourth grade pupils is entirely doable.

Abstract

In the last 5 years, survey results show that religious harmony in West Java placed in the 10th lowest rank in Indonesia. Anak Beragama Cinta Damai or ABCD program aims to strengthen the process of internalizing the values of religious moderation at the elementary school (SD/MI) level towards the value of tolerance using a humanistic approach by involving students directly through a series of learning programs. This study uses a qualitative approach, namely literature review. The form of this program is advocacy and value habituation activities where religion, civic education, and classroom teachers serve as facilitators to strengthen the values of religious moderation, while students act as a peace makers. Specific strategies in delivering material by using quantum learning and group counselling. The learning stages of quantum learning consist of EEL Dr. C (enroll, experience, label, demonstrate, and review). Teachers collaborate for initiating the following activities: 1)Asking students to share their experiences of whether they have heard negative things about other religions and their point of view 2)Conduct discussions regarding negative stigma that students have about other religions, the teacher provides education and straightening out the misconceptions 3)Encourage students to make works of art such as poetry, writing, songs, paintings, and others about tolerance and inter-religious harmony to be displayed in student exhibitions 4)Inviting other religious leaders to do inter-faith dialogue. This program is expected to be a solution in overcoming the problem of the intolerance phenomenon in West Java in order to create inter-religious harmony and national peace.

Abstract

Kendala yang sering ditemui guru dalam mengajar Matematika diantaranya rendahnya prestasi siswa dan motivasi siswa yang cenderung rendah. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran Matematika yaitu dengan menerapkan pendekatan Realistic Mathemathic Education (RME) dengan Teknik Pair Checks pada materi pecahan. Dengan pendekatan RME dengan Teknik Pair Checks diharapkan adanya perubahan pada prestasi belajar siswa dalam pelajaran Matematika materi pecahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh RME dengan Teknik Pair Checks Materi Pecahan Terhadap Prestasi Siswa Kelas IV SDN Babakan Kadu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan design Nonrandomized Control Group, Pretest–Posttest Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN Babakan Kadu. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Babakan Kadu yang berjumlah 58 siswa. Seluruh populasi digunakan penelitian maka disebut sampel total. Teknik pengumpulan data melakukan tes (pretest dan postest). Penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil bawah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis yang dilakukan dengan aplikasi SPSS 16, memperoleh sig 0,002 0,05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dan Ho ditolak. RME dengan teknik pair checks memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar pecahan pada Mata Pelajaran Matematika siswa kelas IV SDN Babakan Kadu dengan nilai rata-rata postest kelas eksperimen kelas kontrol (66,66 56,59).

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris merupakan suatu bahasa yang sangat penting dalam dunia internasional khususnya di era globalisasi sekarang ini. Menyadari kenyataan pentingnya bahasa Inggris di masa depan, maka pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sedini mungkin harus diterapkan di sekolah-sekolah yang merupakan salah satu upaya peningkatan kompetensi individu. Sekolah Dasar merupakan jenjang yang paling tepat untuk menjadi wadah dalam upaya peningkatan kompetensi individu dalam bahasa Inggris. Hal ini menjadi tantangan guru untuk meningkatkan pemahaman kosakata siswa SD yang harus sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa. Tujuan penelitian tindakan kelas ini untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan pemahaman anak terutama untuk kemampuan memotivasi diri dan memahami materi animals melalui metode BBM (Bermain, Bernyanyi, Melakukan). Subjek penelitian adalah 13 orang anak (5 perempuan dan 8 laki- laki) SDN Cipanas Kab. Tasikmalaya. Penelitian berlangsung dalam empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini memperoleh hasil berdasarkan perspektif guru sebesar 95,4% dan perspektif siswa sebesar 90%. Dengan begitu peneliti simpulkan bahwa metode BBM mempunyai kontribusi yang sangat besar terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa pada materi animals di SDN Cipanas. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi salah satu inspirasi lembaga sekolah untuk mewadahi siswa dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris, mengingat betapa pentingnya bahasa Inggris di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

Start from Abraham Maslow's motivational theory which states that humans need appreciation, this research is attempt by the researchers in studying the ranking system in elementary schools. The competition system is known to grow the education system in a country like South Korea and Japan which have high literacy levels. This competition system is also applied in Indonesia, with giving a ranking which can foster a competitive spirit and high motivation. However, many students feel anxious when their ranking decreases. Therefore, Al-Ghazali's Motivation Theory can be a solution for student anxiety. This research uses mix methods, namely quantitative methods in the form of data analysis of questionnaire results and qualitative methods in the form of questionnaires, literature studies, and simple interviews conducted to several different sources. Through this research we expected that the competition system in elementary schools can become a healthy competition system both physically and spiritually.

Abstract

The pandemic of Covid 19 requires teachers to guide their students through distance or online learning. Effective learning should always be explored so that students' learning outcomes does not decrease during this pandemic. It is certainly not easy to carry out effective and fun learning for students. Teachers keep always try the latest ideas every single time. Interactive video is one of the most appropriate strategies to solve learning problems in the classroom. This study aims to find out: 1) the percentage of students who responds positively to animative-interactive learning videos; 2) the percentage of students who does not respond to animative-interactive learning videos; 3) the percentage of students who responds negatively to interactive learning videos. This data was gained from 104 students of elementary school throughout in District of Tasikmalaya and Majalengka who learned Social Studies. Overall results analyzed through percentage form based on the students' response qualifications. The study was conducted by three observers who researched in different primary schools. Through this research, it was obtained that the use of Animative-interactive learning videos was effectively implemented as a learning strategy during this pandemic covid 19. The use of this media was also appropriate to be applied in the subjects of primary school of class of VI, because it was able to increase interest and explore the creativity of students. Through suitable analysis of the characteristics of learners, this type of media would be a reference for teachers to the implementation of learning that should use learning media that was fun and liked by students.

Abstract

In this study, a problem was found, namely in Indonesian language learning where the poetry reading skills of fourth grade students at SD Negeri Gebangsari 01 were classified as low both in terms of rhythm, articulation. volume, expression, and kinesics or body movements. This research is a quantitative research that includes a true experimental design with a posttest only control group design type. This study aims to determine differences in poetry reading skills using interactive video learning media and power point teaching materials for fourth grade students at SD Negeri Gebangsari 01. The results of data analysis Independent Sample T-Test hypothesis test proves that there is a difference in terms of Lower and Upper respectively. negative values, namely lower -22.388 and upper -12,128. while Sig (2-tailed) is worth 0.000.

Abstract

Siswa akan terdorong untuk belajar manakala mereka memiliki minat. Pengembangkan minat belajar siswa merupakan salah satu teknik dalam meningkatan motivasi belajar. Salah satu cara yang logis untuk memotivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran adalah mengaitkan pengalaman belajar dengan minat siswa. Ada beberapa materi pelajaran yang sukar bila dijelaskan dengan kata-kata belaka. Maka perlu didramatisasikan, Salah satu materi dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam yang sukar bila hanya dijelaskan dengan kata-kata adalah “Qada dan Qadar”.  Melalui bermain peran dalam film pendek terbukti dapat meningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa.  Sebelum pembelajaran melalui bermain peran, siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan sebanyak 8 orang atau 40% sedangkan yang belum tuntas sebanyak 12 orang atau 60%. Setelah pelaksanaan pembelajaran melalui bermain peran, siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 20 orang atau 100%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe the implementation of the Graduate Competency Standards (SKL), the SWOT analysis of the SKL implementation, and to propose an action plan. action plans in different elementary schools. This study applied a qualitative descriptive approach and data triangulation model to include orientation, exploration and investigation phases. The 123 study participants were school principals, classroom teachers, subject teachers, education staff, school committees, and parents. Most of the quality indicators have been implemented and developed in primary schools, according to the results. Students are unfamiliar with writing and do not participate in school curriculum committees, both unconsolidated indicators of quality. The school's vision and aim are already aligned with the SKL, and all teachers hold at least an S1 certificate. Teacher IT skills are still insufficient, and some teachers lack formal educational degrees, which are problems. In terms of possibilities, the school, school committee, teachers, and student parents have created a close bond, with most school programs Obtaining full parental support. Meanwhile, external competition, particularly from private schools that do not yet have an alumni forum, poses a challenge. The bulk of the SKL quality indicators has been implemented and developed in elementary schools, according to the study's results. Internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) factors, as well as an action plan, are unique to each institution (action plan). In certain primary schools, SKL offers a variety of activities, schedules, and objectives.
