Abstract

This Community Service Program aimed to enhance the digital accounting competencies of students and teachers at SMK PGRI 1 Jakarta through training on the Accurate Offline application as a support tool for accounting computer learning and preparation for the Competency Certification Examination (USK). The novelty of the program lies in the implementation of an integrated competency-based training model that combines teachers and students within a single learning process, supported by competency test case-based practice modules, hands-on training, and intensive mentoring. The program methodology consisted of needs assessment, module development, pre-testing, material delivery, demonstrations, direct practice sessions, case simulations, mentoring, post-testing, and participant satisfaction evaluation. Evaluation instruments included a knowledge test and a questionnaire, both validated through expert judgment involving two accounting lecturers and one accounting software practitioner. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods by comparing pre-test and post-test percentage scores. The participants consisted of 26 students and 4 accounting teachers. The results indicated improvements across all competency indicators. On average, the proportion of participants who demonstrated understanding of the material increased from 25.8% to 70.2%, while the proportion categorized as not understanding decreased to nearly 0%. The highest improvement was observed in the competency of preparing opening trial balances, with 81% of participants achieving the “understanding” category in the post-test. These findings demonstrate that the implemented training model was effective in improving digital accounting competencies, strengthening participants’ readiness for competency certification, and supporting the alignment of graduate competencies with industry requirements.

Abstract

This study examines whether workplace compassion and emotional intelligence contribute to the development of a positive work climate among teachers in private schools in Cirebon, Indonesia, and whether workplace social support mediates these relationships. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a multistage cluster sampling technique, resulting in 239 valid responses. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that both workplace compassion and emotional intelligence are positively associated with workplace social support and a positive work climate. Workplace social support is also positively related to a positive work climate and serves as an explanatory pathway linking emotional intelligence to the work climate. However, the indirect effect of workplace compassion through workplace social support appears weaker and should be interpreted with caution. These results highlight the importance of fostering compassionate interactions, strengthening emotional competencies, and promoting structured peer support practices in order to cultivate a more supportive and psychologically safe school work environment.

Abstract

The dynamics of the modern era bring significant value shifts in the behavior of children and adolescents, often having an impact on the decline of the spiritual quality of society. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Qur'an reading guidance program as a strategic instrument in improving the spiritual quality of the younger generation and its implications for the socio-religious order. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a field study approach, data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of religious guidance programs. The results of the study show that guidance in reading the Qur'an carried out in a structured manner not only improves Arabic and tajweed literacy, but also stimulates spiritual intelligence (SQ), controlling emotions, and forming moral character. The implications of this micro-level spiritual strengthening (children and adolescents) contribute directly to the increase in social and religious awareness of the community on a macro level. The synergy between interactive learning methods, the active role of parents, and the support of surrounding institutions is the key to the success of this program.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of baker’s yeast concentration and fermentation time on the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and to determine the optimal treatment for producing high-quality VCO. An experimental method was employed using a two-factor factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The factors tested were yeast concentration (0 g, 1 g, and 2 g) and fermentation time (24, 36, and 48 hours). The observed parameters included yield, moisture content, free fatty acid (FFA) content, and organoleptic characteristics such as aroma, color, and taste. The results showed that both yeast concentration and fermentation time significantly affected (P < 0.05) VCO yield, moisture content, FFA levels, and organoleptic properties. The 1 g yeast treatment produced the best overall results, yielding 18.9% VCO with a moisture content of 0.21%, while the 2 g treatment did not show significant improvements in several parameters. The highest yield (19%) was obtained after 24 hours of fermentation, whereas 48 hours of fermentation resulted in a moisture content of 0.24% and an FFA value of 0.28%. Organoleptic evaluation indicated no significant differences in aroma and taste among treatments; however, fermentation time significantly influenced VCO color. Overall, the use of 1 g baker’s yeast combined with an appropriate fermentation period produced VCO with superior quality characteristics.

Abstract

Background: Emergency thorax radiography in the ER/ICU using mobile X-rays often faces space constraints and challenging patient positioning, risking higher radiation exposure. Objective: This study aims to determine the Entrance Surface Dose (ESD) values in thorax radiography and identify the optimal combination of exposure factor parameters to minimize ESD. Methods: This quantitative experimental study was conducted at the Radiology Laboratory of Universitas 'Aisyiyah Yogyakarta in February 2026 using an Anthropomorphic Thorax Phantom and a BMX-AR 30 mobile X-ray unit. Variations included FFD (100, 120, 150, 180 cm) and several exposure factors. ESD values were measured using a Raysafe X2 multimeter. Results: Increasing FFD consistently reduced ESD values. While FFD 180 cm yielded the lowest dose, it is impractical in critical care. As a pragmatic middle ground, FFD 120 cm is the most realistic clinical choice. By implementing a high kV-low mAs technique, the combination of 86 kV and 4 mAs at FFD 120 cm proved to be the best parameter, minimizing the ESD value to 0.3 mGy. Conclusion: This study successfully mapped ESD values and identified the optimal exposure combination (86 kV, 4 mAs, FFD 120 cm) to minimize radiation doses safely below the national DRL limit.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of work well-being, work environment, and work facilities on employee loyalty in micro-scale garment SMEs located in the Padang Bulan cluster, Medan City, where low loyalty is reflected in high turnover and unstable workforce conditions. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected through questionnaires from 80 respondents selected via simple random sampling and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results reveal that all three variables have a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty, with the work environment emerging as the most dominant factor, underscoring the critical role of social interaction and workplace conditions in shaping employee attachment. Simultaneously, the model explains 42% of the variance in employee loyalty. Furthermore, the findings indicate that employee loyalty remains at a moderate level, characterized by relatively strong engagement and sense of belonging, but weaker long-term retention commitment. These results highlight that employee loyalty in micro-scale SMEs is not solely driven by economic factors but is constructed through an integrated work experience encompassing well-being, relational dynamics, and operational support.

Abstract

Tax avoidance is one of the factors that can reduce government revenue from the taxation sector. This study aims to examine the effect of profitability, capital intensity, liquidity, and firm size on tax avoidance in food and beverage manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2024 period. A quantitative approach was employed using secondary data obtained from the companies’ annual financial statements. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 45 companies with a total of 180 observations. Data were analyzed using panel data regression with the Random Effect Model (REM). The results indicate that profitability, capital intensity, liquidity, and firm size simultaneously have a significant effect on tax avoidance. Partially, profitability, liquidity, and firm size have a significant negative effect on tax avoidance, while capital intensity has a significant positive effect. These findings suggest that companies with higher profitability, stronger liquidity, and larger firm size tend to be more compliant with tax regulations. In contrast, companies with higher capital intensity are more likely to engage in tax avoidance through the utilization of depreciation expenses on fixed assets. Therefore, corporate financial characteristics play an important role in determining tax avoidance practices.

Abstract

This study aims to identify symptoms and attack levels of Oryctes rhinoceros, analyze its effect on vegetative growth, and evaluate integrated pest management strategies at PT Binanga Karya. A descriptive qualitative method was used, involving field observation, interviews, and documentation. Observations were conducted on 143 oil palm samples aged 30 months. Interviews were conducted with 2 foremen and 5 workers. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman & Saldana (2014) model. Results showed that 46.9% of sampled plants were attacked: light (19.6%), moderate (16.8%), and severe (10.5%). Symptoms included V-shaped boring holes, brown frass, broken spear leaves, and death of growing points. Moderate attack caused a 15-day delay per leaf and 20% reduction in stem height. Exacerbating factors included poor sanitation of decaying organic matter, high rainfall, and depression topography. PT Binanga Karya implemented IPM through routine sanitation, pheromone traps (1 unit/2 ha), manual larva collection, and targeted insecticide application. This integration reduced pest populations by over 70%. The study concludes that O. rhinoceros significantly affects vegetative growth of young oil palm, and the applied IPM strategy is effective in suppressing attacks.

Abstract

This systematic review examines the effects of Montessori education on cognitive skills in preschool and kindergarten children. The review synthesizes quantitative empirical studies conducted in formal Montessori educational settings and published between 2015 and 2025. Ten studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using a narrative synthesis approach with attention to methodological quality and statistical rigor. Overall, the findings indicate that Montessori education is associated with significant improvements in multiple cognitive domains, including executive functioning, early literacy, mathematical reasoning, creativity, and fine motor skills, when compared with conventional educational programs. Studies employing randomized or lottery-based admission designs reported medium to large effect sizes, providing stronger support for causal interpretations. Several studies also suggest cumulative or delayed cognitive benefits and indicate that Montessori education may offer compensatory advantages for children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. Despite heterogeneity in research designs and outcome measures that limits formal meta-analytic synthesis, this review provides robust quantitative evidence supporting the effectiveness of Montessori education in promoting early cognitive development.
