Abstract

This study examines the impact of curriculum system changes on student behavior and character patterns at SMA Negeri 2 Batu, Kota Batu, related to the transition from Curriculum 13 to the Merdeka Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum is part of the Merdeka Belajar program, which aims to provide freedom to educational units, teachers, and students to develop their potential to the fullest. The results show that students face complex dilemmas. Although project-based learning in the Merdeka Curriculum offers a deeper learning experience, students face various challenges such as high workloads, risk of stress, and the "flood" of information through technology. Students must filter information, develop critical thinking skills, and maintain moral sensitivity. It is important for the education sector to pay attention to student welfare in implementing project-based learning. Measures such as managing workloads wisely, increasing access to resources, and psychological and social approaches can help reduce the negative impact of this curriculum change. The application of Pancasila values is also necessary to shape good attitudes, behavior, and morals in students. Thus, students can reap the maximum benefits of project-based learning without sacrificing their well-being and life balance. Penelitian ini menginvestigasi keterhubungan antara sistem kurikulum yang diberlakukan dengan pola perilaku dan karakter siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Batu, Kota Batu, terkait peralihan dari Kurikulum 13 ke Kurikulum Merdeka. Kurikulum Merdeka merupakan bagian dari program Merdeka Belajar yang bertujuan memberikan kebebasan kepada satuan pendidikan, guru, dan peserta didik untuk mengembangkan potensi mereka secara maksimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dihadapkan pada dilema kompleks. Meskipun pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam Kurikulum Merdeka menawarkan pengalaman belajar yang lebih mendalam, siswa menghadapi berbagai tantangan seperti beban kerja yang tinggi, risiko stres, dan "bajirnya" informasi melalui teknologi. Siswa harus memfilter informasi, mengembangkan kemampuan kritis, dan menjaga kepekaan moral. Penting bagi pihak pendidikan untuk memperhatikan kesejahteraan siswa dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Langkah-langkah seperti pengelolaan beban kerja yang bijaksana, peningkatan aksesibilitas sumber daya, serta pendekatan psikologis dan sosial dapat membantu mengurangi dampak negatif dari perubahan kurikulum ini. Penerapan nilai-nilai Pancasila juga diperlukan untuk membentuk sikap, perilaku, dan akhlak yang baik pada siswa. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat merasakan manfaat yang maksimal dari pembelajaran berbasis proyek tanpa mengorbankan kesejahteraan dan keseimbangan hidup mereka.

Abstract

Madrasah in Indonesia often face challenges in improving the quality of education, especially regarding management, curriculum, teacher quality, and community participation. The ISO 21001:2018 standard is important as it can help madrasah improve the quality of educational management and provide the best services for students. This article highlights the importance of strategic management in the implementation of this standard, clarifying strategic management steps such as environmental analysis, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation that can be applied in the madrasah context. With this approach, it is hoped that madrasah can be more effective in meeting the established educational quality standards. Madrasah di Indonesia seringkali menghadapi kendala dalam peningkatan kualitas pendidikan, terutama terkait manajemen, kurikulum, kualitas tenaga pendidik, dan partisipasi masyarakat. Standar ISO 21001:2018 menjadi penting karena dapat membantu madrasah meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan pendidikan dan memberikan pelayanan terbaik bagi peserta didik. Artikel ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya manajemen strategis dalam implementasi standar ini, memperjelas langkah-langkah manajemen strategis seperti analisis lingkungan, formulasi strategi, implementasi strategi, dan evaluasi strategi yang dapat diterapkan dalam konteks madrasah. Dengan pendekatan ini, diharapkan madrasah dapat lebih efektif dalam memenuhi standar mutu pendidikan yang ditetapkan.

Abstract

This article explores the impact of language models on undergraduate thesis writing skills among higher education students. With advancements in technology, language models have become integral to the digital writing landscape. This study examined the influence of language models on students' confidence and motivation in academic writing. The research employs a qualitative approach, conducting semi-structured interviews with five students from an English Language Education program who utilized AI tools in their thesis writing process. Despite acknowledging the advantages, participants underscored challenges encompassing overreliance, inaccuracies, and disruptions in the natural flow of their writing. The impact of these tools on participants' confidence and motivation in academic writing manifested diversely, introducing varying degrees of perceived artificiality in writing proficiency. There were already numerous researches regarding the pretinence of language models usage on students’ writing aptitude. However, there remains a gap in understanding their specific influence on undergraduate thesis writing. Thematic analysis of the interview data reveals insights into the influence of language models, on the writing proficiency of higher education students engaged in the process of crafting undergraduate theses. Employing a methodology encompassing interviews, participants reported noteworthy enhancements in the coherence, clarity, grammar, syntax, and vocabulary of their theses facilitated by the utilization of these language tools. Overall, the incorporation of language models in the writing process emerged as a catalyst for heightened efficiency, skills development, and enhanced clarity in undergraduate theses, affirming the constructive role of AI technology in educational settings. Individualized experiences with language models exhibited variance contingent upon personal preferences and attitudes towards the writing process.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' science learning outcomes through the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model, specifically the Question Student Have type, in fourth-grade students at SDN 230 Massenrengpulu, Sibulue District, Bone Regency. The research method employed was classroom action research (CAR), consisting of repeated cycles of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the application of the Question Student Have model significantly improved students' science learning outcomes. This improvement was accompanied by an increase in student involvement in the learning process, such as an increase in the number of questions asked and students' ability to answer questions. These findings are in line with Bloom's Taxonomy, which emphasizes the importance of appropriate instruction and formative assessment in achieving learning mastery for all students. This study suggests the need for further training for teachers in managing group discussions and implementing cooperative learning strategies, as well as the use of visual aids and technology to support more effective learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPA melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Question Student Have pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 230 Massenrengpulu, Kecamatan Sibulue, Kabupaten Bone. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang terdiri dari siklus perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi secara berulang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Question Student Have secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa. Peningkatan ini disertai dengan peningkatan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, seperti peningkatan jumlah pertanyaan yang diajukan dan kemampuan siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan. Temuan ini sejalan dengan teori Taksonomi Bloom, yang menekankan pentingnya instruksi yang tepat dan penilaian formatif dalam mencapai ketuntasan belajar bagi setiap siswa. Penelitian ini menyarankan perlunya pelatihan lanjutan bagi guru dalam pengelolaan diskusi kelompok dan penerapan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif, serta penggunaan alat bantu visual dan teknologi untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in determining a nation's progress, as it equips individuals with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to address global challenges through quality education. This paper explores the relationship between the quality of education and national development, as well as the negative impacts of low-quality education. Furthermore, this paper discusses Paulo Freire's perspective on education as a tool for liberation, emphasizing the importance of dialogical approaches, critical consciousness, and contextual relevance in the educational process. Freire's approach is proposed as a solution to address various challenges in Indonesia's education system, particularly regarding disparities in access and quality of education in remote and marginalized areas. Additionally, this paper evaluates the significance of revitalizing Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational principles in creating a more inclusive, relevant, and empowering education system. This research concludes that the implementation of more democratic and inclusive educational concepts can contribute significantly to positive social transformation in Indonesia.   Pendidikan memegang peranan penting dalam menentukan kemajuan suatu bangsa, karena melalui pendidikan yang berkualitas, masyarakat dapat dibekali dengan keterampilan, pengetahuan, dan sikap yang diperlukan untuk menghadapi tantangan global. Tulisan ini mengeksplorasi hubungan antara kualitas pendidikan dengan perkembangan suatu bangsa, serta dampak negatif yang timbul akibat rendahnya kualitas pendidikan. Selain itu, tulisan ini juga membahas pemikiran Paulo Freire tentang pendidikan sebagai alat pembebasan, yang menekankan pentingnya pendekatan dialogis, penyadaran kritis, dan relevansi kontekstual dalam proses pendidikan. Pendekatan Freire ini diusulkan sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi berbagai tantangan dalam sistem pendidikan Indonesia, terutama terkait kesenjangan akses dan kualitas pendidikan di daerah terpencil dan terpinggirkan. Selanjutnya, tulisan ini juga mengevaluasi pentingnya revitalisasi prinsip pendidikan yang dikemukakan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantara dalam upaya menciptakan sistem pendidikan yang lebih inklusif, relevan, dan memberdayakan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan konsep pendidikan yang lebih demokratis dan inklusif dapat berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam mendorong transformasi sosial yang positif di Indonesia.

Abstract

Bullying is an aggressive behavior that has become a significant issue among junior high school students in Indonesia. This study employed a literature review method to identify the underlying reasons behind this phenomenon. To provide a comprehensive explanation, this study examined three primary perspectives: peers, school environment, and parental influence, to answer the research question, "Why do junior high school students in Indonesia bully their peers?" The findings indicate that bullying among peers is often influenced by social constructions, such as group norms or peer pressure. Within the school environment, factors contributing to bullying include weak enforcement of regulations and non-compliance with existing rules. Meanwhile, inappropriate parenting styles and poor quality relationships between parents and children also contribute to bullying behavior. This research is expected to serve as a reference for bullying prevention efforts among students. However, further research is still needed to identify additional factors that may contribute to the bullying phenomenon in secondary schools.   Perundungan merupakan perilaku agresif yang telah menjadi masalah signifikan di kalangan siswa sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka untuk mengidentifikasi alasan-alasan di balik fenomena tersebut. Dalam upaya memberikan penjelasan yang komprehensif, penelitian ini mengkaji tiga perspektif utama: teman sebaya, lingkungan sekolah, dan pengaruh orang tua, untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, "Mengapa siswa SMP di Indonesia melakukan perundungan terhadap teman sebaya mereka?" Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perundungan di antara teman sebaya sering kali dipengaruhi oleh konstruksi sosial, seperti norma kelompok atau tekanan teman sebaya. Di lingkungan sekolah, faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap perundungan meliputi lemahnya penegakan peraturan dan ketidakpatuhan terhadap aturan yang ada. Sementara itu, gaya pengasuhan yang kurang tepat serta kualitas hubungan yang buruk antara orang tua dan anak turut menjadi faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap perilaku perundungan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi dalam upaya pencegahan perundungan di kalangan siswa. Namun, penelitian lebih lanjut tetap diperlukan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor tambahan yang mungkin berkontribusi terhadap fenomena perundungan di sekolah menengah.

Abstract

This study analyzes social exclusion in education in Indonesia and Vietnam, evaluates existing policies, and proposes policy recommendations to enhance educational inclusion. Using a systematic literature review method, data were collected from various academic sources, reports from international organizations, and government policy documents. The analysis was conducted using a thematic approach based on the theories of Somerville, Byrne, and MacMullin. The findings indicate that social exclusion in education in both countries is influenced by economic and geographical factors, as well as ethnic and gender-based discrimination. Although Vietnam has adopted more structured inclusive policies, challenges to ensuring educational access for marginalized groups persist. In Indonesia, policy implementation continues to face obstacles regarding equitable access and effectiveness at the local level. This study recommends strengthening affirmative policies, improving educational infrastructure in remote areas, and actively involving communities in education policy formulation. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for policymakers in designing more inclusive strategies to reduce social exclusion in education Penelitian ini menganalisis eksklusi sosial dalam pendidikan di Indonesia dan Vietnam, mengevaluasi kebijakan yang telah diterapkan, serta memberikan rekomendasi kebijakan untuk meningkatkan inklusi pendidikan. Menggunakan metode studi literatur sistematis, data dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber akademik, laporan organisasi internasional serta dokumen kebijakan pemerintah. Analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan tematik berdasarkan teori Somerville, Byrne, dan MacMullin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eksklusi sosial dalam pendidikan di kedua negara dipengaruhi oleh faktor ekonomi, geografis, serta diskriminasi berbasis etnis dan gender. Meskipun Vietnam telah mengadopsi kebijakan inklusif yang lebih terstruktur, tantangan dalam akses pendidikan bagi kelompok marjinal masih terjadi. Di Indonesia, implementasi kebijakan masih menghadapi kendala dalam pemerataan akses dan efektivitas di tingkat lokal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan kebijakan afirmatif, peningkatan infrastruktur pendidikan di daerah terpencil, serta keterlibatan aktif komunitas dalam perumusan kebijakan pendidikan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pembuat kebijakan dalam merancang strategi yang lebih inklusif untuk mengurangi eksklusi sosial dalam pendidikan.

Abstract

Mixed methods research, which integrates quantitative and qualitative approaches, has become essential for academics to gain a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of educational phenomena. Therefore, this article aims to explain the fundamental concepts and implementation of mixed methods in educational research, as well as how this approach can offer a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of the dynamics within the field of education. Key aspects discussed include rationality, prioritization, data collection sequence, and data integration in educational research. Additionally, various mixed methods research designs, such as sequential and concurrent approaches, are explored. With this methodology, researchers can collect and analyze data from multiple perspectives to generate more in-depth and accurate findings. This study is expected to make a significant contribution to the advancement of educational research methodologies in the future. Metodologi penelitian campuran (mixed methods), yang menggabungkan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif telah menjadi kebutuhan bagi para akademisi untuk memahami fenomena pendidikan secara lebih komprehensif, mengingat kompleksitas yang ada dalam proses belajar mengajar. Oleh karena itu, tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk menjelaskan konsep dasar, dan implementasi mixed methods dalam penelitian pendidikan, serta bagaimana metode ini dapat memberikan gambaran yang lebih lengkap dan valid tentang dinamika yang terjadi di ranah pendidikan. Poin-poin penting dalam artikel ini membahas penelitian mixed methods yang mencakup aspek rasionalitas, prioritas, urutan pengumpulan data, dan integrasi data untuk diterapkan pada penelitian pendidikan. Selain itu, artikel ini juga menjelaskan berbagai desain penelitian yang dapat digunakan dalam mixed methods, seperti sekuensial dan konkuren. Dengan pendekatan ini, peneliti dapat mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data dari berbagai perspektif untuk menghasilkan temuan yang lebih mendalam dan akurat. Abstract

This research aims to examine the implementation of the Taman Siswa concept within the Merdeka Curriculum, with the expectation of providing new insights for the development of educational policies in Indonesia that are rooted in the nation's cultural values. The research method employed is library research, utilizing primary data sources from relevant books and literature. The findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum adopts several principles from Taman Siswa, such as flexibility, simplicity, and student-centered education. The learning approaches integrated into the Merdeka Curriculum also include principles from Taman Siswa, such as Panca Dharma, constructivism, and the among system. Nevertheless, there are adjustments in the implementation of these concepts, such as a more flexible phase system and the limited application of the boarding school system. This research concludes that the Merdeka Curriculum and the Taman Siswa concept share similarities in design principles and learning approaches, yet their implementation is adapted to current educational needs. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi konsep Taman Siswa dalam Kurikulum Merdeka, dengan harapan memberikan wawasan baru bagi pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan di Indonesia yang berakar pada nilai budaya bangsa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pustaka, dengan sumber data utama dari buku dan literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kurikulum Merdeka mengadopsi beberapa prinsip dari Taman Siswa, seperti fleksibilitas, kesederhanaan, dan pendidikan yang berpihak pada peserta didik. Pendekatan pembelajaran yang diintegrasikan dalam Kurikulum Merdeka juga mencakup prinsip-prinsip dari Taman Siswa, seperti Panca Dharma, konstruktivisme, dan sistem among. Meskipun demikian, terdapat penyesuaian dalam implementasi konsep-konsep tersebut, seperti sistem fase yang lebih fleksibel dan penerapan sistem asrama yang terbatas. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Kurikulum Merdeka dan konsep Taman Siswa memiliki kesamaan dalam prinsip perancangan dan pendekatan pembelajaran, namun implementasinya disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pendidikan saat ini.

Abstract

Qur'anic educational epistemology is a significant field of study that seeks to understand the concept of education as derived from divine revelation. This article aims to critically examine three principal concepts in Qur'anic education—ta'lim, tarbiyah, and ta'dib—based on a review of the Qur'anic text. Using a literature-based methodology, this study analyzes relevant Qur'anic verses and interpretations by classical and contemporary mufassirs (Qur'anic interpreters). The findings indicate that ta'lim emphasizes knowledge transmission, tarbiyah focuses on the holistic development of human potential, and ta'dib reflects the internalization of values and character formation. The integration of these three concepts forms a holistic and comprehensive framework for Qur'anic education. This article also explores the relevance of these concepts in addressing modern educational challenges, particularly in shaping insan kamil (the perfect human being), who is characterized by and oriented towards divine values. This study is expected to provide both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of a Qur'an-based Islamic education system. Epistemologi pendidikan Qur'ani merupakan cabang kajian penting dalam memahami konsep pendidikan yang bersumber dari wahyu. Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji secara kritis tiga konsep utama dalam pendidikan Qur'ani, yaitu ta'lim, tarbiyah, dan ta'dib, berdasarkan tinjauan terhadap teks Al-Qur'an. Melalui metode studi pustaka, penelitian ini menganalisis ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an yang relevan serta interpretasi dari para mufassir klasik dan kontemporer. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ta'lim menekankan aspek transmisi ilmu pengetahuan, tarbiyah berfokus pada pengembangan potensi manusia secara holistik, dan ta'dib mencerminkan internalisasi nilai serta pembentukan akhlak. Integrasi ketiga konsep ini membentuk kerangka pendidikan Qur'ani yang holistik dan komprehensif. Artikel ini juga membahas relevansi konsep-konsep tersebut dalam menghadapi tantangan pendidikan modern, khususnya dalam membentuk insan kamil yang berkarakter dan berorientasi pada nilai-nilai ilahiyah. Kajian ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi teoretis dan praktis dalam pengembangan sistem pendidikan Islam berbasis Al-Qur'an.
