Abstract

In addition to models, methods, and media, another aspect that is also very important in social studies is teaching material. As an essential element in the learning process, teaching materials must have adequate quality. Accordingly, this article is intended to offer a literature overview of oral traditions as material development for social studies in junior high schools, as well as to design conceptual models related to their application. This article is a conceptual article compiled based on the results of literature studies (books, journals, etc.) and document analysis (Core Competencies, Basic Competencies, Syllabus, etc.). There are three findings offered by this article. First, oral tradition is a potential source to be developed into social studies in junior high schools as it contains values of local wisdom and moral teachings which are relevant to the vision of social studies, namely as civic education. Also, oral traditions, which are part of anthropology and history, share the same nature to social study materials-combination of social science disciplines. Second, from several oral tradition variants, the most potent type to be inserted in social study materials are traditional expressions, folk poetry, folklore, and folk songs-by considering three things, namely: a) curriculum relevance; b) richness in value content; c) school environment-related issues. Third, three stages can be done in developing oral traditions as teaching materials, namely: a) analysis stage (identification of oral tradition and its relevance to curriculum); b) design and development stage (determining the form and structure of teaching materials required); and c) implementation stage.DOI: 10.17977/um022v5i12020p051

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evalusi implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pakerti di SMAN 3 Kota Bengkulu. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1. Perencanaan pembelajaran pada kurikulum merdeka mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pakerti di SMAN 3 Kota Bengkulu sudah menggunakan perangkat kurikulum merdeka, yaitu; a) Membuat capaian pembelajaran (CP) b) Membuat alur tujuan pembelajaran c) Membuat modul ajar d) Melakukan projek profil pancasila, pembuatan teh kombucha dan pembuatan taman sekolah. Pembuatan bahan ajar ini difasilitasi oleh sekolah, melalui in house training (IHT) di sekolah, kegiatan musyawarah guru mata pelajaran (MGMP), dan belajar mandiri di platform merdeka mengajar (PMM) 2. Pelaksanaan kurikulum merdeka pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pakerti di SMAN 3 Kota Bengkulu telah melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan a) Kegiatan pendahuluan b) Kegiatan inti c) Kegiatan penutup 3. Evaluasi kurikulum merdeka pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pakerti di SMAN 3 Kota Bengkulu yaitu menggunakan; a) Assessment diagnostik b) Assessment formatif dan c) Assessment sumatif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pakerti di SMAN 3 Kota Bengkulu telah berjalan dengan baik, meskipun masih ada ruang untuk perbaikan terutama dalam hal penyempurnaan bahan ajar dan teknik evaluasi yang lebih efektif

Abstract

This study aims to explore data collection strategies in qualitative and quantitative research, with a focus on comparing methods used by academics. In the context of academic research, data collection is a crucial aspect that determines the validity and reliability of findings. This study uses a descriptive-analytical approach by analyzing various academic theses published in 2023. The results show that the qualitative method tends to use in-depth interviews and participatory observation, while the quantitative method predominantly uses surveys and experiments. Furthermore, significant variation was found in the selection of methods, influenced by the field of study and research objectives. This study provides practical insights for researchers in selecting data collection methods that align with their research needs

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the structure and content of the curriculum in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education at SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu, which is one of the supporting factors for the achievements attained by SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu. The research method used is qualitative analysis that examines information sources in the form of documents related to the PAI curriculum at SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu. The results of this study indicate that the Islamic Education and Character Education curriculum at SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu is developed by PAI and BP teachers in order to create effective learning and achieve the goals, vision, and mission established by SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu. The content of the development of the PAI and BP curriculum at SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu includes 1) the objectives of Islamic education, 2) learning materials, 3) methods, 4) evaluations used, and 5) religious activities available at SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum aims to improve students' learning outcomes in numeracy, literacy and emphasizes the development of 21st century competencies which include critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, communication, and the ability to learn independently, but the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, junior high school level in Bengkulu City, is still limited this is due to the uneven understanding of teachers, there are still many teachers who have difficulty in understanding the concept of the independent curriculum. In order for teachers to be able to apply the concept of the independent curriculum optimally, effective guidance, support and monitoring are needed from the principal through academic supervision. This study aims to analyze the form of academic supervision of the principal in implementing the independent curriculum in Junior High Schools in Bengkulu City. This type of research is a combination research (Mix Method) with a Sequential Explanatory Design model approach. The population and sample of the study used purposive sampling techniques. The study population was 159, namely teachers at Junior High School 5, Junior High School 18, Junior High School 24 and Junior High School 9 in Bengkulu City. The study was conducted for seven months (April - October 2023). Data collection techniques: observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Data that has been collected in the form of questionnaires will be scored and analyzed using descriptive statistics, namely using the percentage formula (%), qualitative data is analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study confirmed that the principal's academic supervision has a strategic role in improving the implementation of the independent curriculum in junior high schools in Bengkulu City, the form of academic supervision of the principal in the implementation of the independent curriculum in junior high schools in Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the explosion of information obtained from current digital literacy such as: YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and other sources. YouTube is a very young platform that can be accessed as a media for preaching and learning media in schools. This research aims to: 1. To find out whether there is an influence of religious YouTube digital literacy on students' understanding of religion at SMPN 18 Bengkulu City. 2. Find out whether there is an influence of religious YouTube digital literacy on students' religious awareness at SMPN 18 Bengkulu City. The type of research used is quantitative with an associative approach. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is hypothesis testing using simple linear regression, t test and coefficient of determination ((R2). Research results: (1) There is an influence of religious YouTube digital literacy on students' understanding of religion at SMPN 18 Bengkulu City as evidenced by the regression equation Y1 = 48.889 + 0.531 18 Bengkulu City as proven by the regression equation Y2 = 48.998+ 0.430

Abstract

This study explores the social values embedded in Tari Kejei, a sacred traditional dance of the Rejang ethnic community in Batu Ampar Village, Kepahiang Regency. The research aims to reveal the cultural meanings, moral lessons, and communal practices preserved through this dance amidst the challenges of globalization. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving community leaders, dancers, and local residents. The findings indicate that Kejei dance reflects moral values such as cooperation and respect, aesthetic values through costumes, music, and symbolic movements, educational values fostering social responsibility and solidarity, and spiritual values rooted in gratitude and reverence for ancestors. Efforts to preserve the dance include establishing cultural studios, engaging youth, performing at local festivals, and utilizing social media. The study concludes that Kejei dance is not merely a performance but a medium for cultural continuity, social cohesion, and intergenerational identity transmission.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of an integrated Civic Education (PKn)-Science learning model on developing Science Process Skills (SPS) through a Civic-Scientific Literacy (CSL) approach in eighth-grade students. A non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group quasi-experimental design was applied to 64 students at SMP Negeri X Bengkulu. SPK data collection was conducted through tests, analyzed using ANCOVA, while CSL was evaluated using a rubric. The results showed that the integrated PKn-Science learning model significantly improved students' SPK (F=32.10, p<0.001, ηp2=0.347) compared to the control group. This model was also effective in facilitating the development of students' CSL, as evidenced by improvements in their ability to understand socio-scientific issues, evaluate evidence, engage in ethical-social reasoning, and participate in argumentation. A positive and significant correlation was also found between improvements in CSL and KPS (r=0.68, p<0.001), confirming the synergistic relationship between the two. This study concludes that integrating Civic Education and Science through the CSL approach is an effective strategy for fostering scientifically literate students and responsible citizens

Abstract

Pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan agama islam merupakan susunan, pelaksanaan, penilaian dan penyempurnaan untuk menghasilkan kurikulum yang efektif. Adapun karakteristik pengembangan kurikulum dapat dilihat pada aspek: pengidentifikasian tujuan pendidikan, kegiatan sekolah yang dirancang harus sesuai dengan prosedur dalam mengembangkan kurikulum, sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan menganalisis dokumen yang terkait pembahasan dan dianalisa secara sisrematis. Dalam konteks pendidikan di Madrasah, sebagai sekolah umum yag berciri khas agama islam, maka faktor mutu guru dan tenaga kependidikan lainnya tersebut perlu dipersiapkan secara matang terutama dari segi wawasan akademis-religiusnya, agar makna substansial madrasah dapat tertangkap dengan baik. Mutu proses pendidikan juga perlu didukung oleh tenaga guru dan tenaga kependidikan lainnya yang relevan dengan kebutuhan madrasah.
