Abstract

The rapid convergence of digital marketplaces and financial technology (fintech) is reshaping economic participation, particularly in emerging economies such as Indonesia. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 20 Scopus-indexed articles to examine the integration of online marketplace platforms and fintech ecosystems. Guided by the PRISMA methodology and supported by VOSviewer bibliometric analysis, the review identifies dominant research themes including fintech adoption, blockchain-enabled commerce, digital financial services, information systems, and customer-centered innovation. Density visualization reveals fintech and commerce as the most intensively studied topics, while overlay visualization highlights blockchain, data marketplaces, and financial assets as emerging research trends during 2024–2025. Network visualization further classifies the literature into five thematic clusters covering artificial intelligence, commerce, information systems, competitive markets, blockchain, and global economies. The findings indicate that digital literacy, regulatory support, Sharia compliance, interoperability, and technological readiness are key determinants of successful marketplace–fintech integration. In addition, HALVORA (Halal Verification Retail Online Apps) is identified as an innovative digital platform that supports MSMEs by integrating halal verification, digital marketplaces, financial services, business networking, and entrepreneurship support within a single ecosystem. This integration enhances digital literacy, expands market access, improves business competitiveness, and accelerates digital transformation among entrepreneurs. Furthermore, HALVORA contributes to sustainable community economic empowerment by facilitating trusted halal commerce and strengthening the connection between digital marketplaces and fintech services. The review also identifies research gaps related to ethical governance, digital infrastructure, and integrated digital platforms, providing directions for future studies on inclusive, sustainable, and technology-driven marketplace–fintech ecosystems.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) represent the backbone of Indonesia's local economy, yet their participation in digital platform ecosystems remains constrained by limited digital literacy, infrastructure, and institutional support. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 20 Scopus-indexed articles to examine how community-based digital platform training can accelerate MSME digitalization, focusing on Bangun Jiwo Barat, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Guided by the PRISMA framework and supported by VOSviewer bibliometric analysis, the study identifies four dominant themes: digital literacy, e-commerce adoption, supply chain integration, and community empowerment. Density visualization highlights commerce and information systems as the most intensively studied topics, while overlay visualization identifies artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data marketplaces as emerging research trends during 2024–2025. As part of the community service program, HALVORA (Halal Verification Retail Online Apps) was introduced as a practical learning platform integrating halal verification, digital marketing, business networking, and fintech-enabled services. The platform enabled participants to gain hands-on experience in promoting products, expanding market access, and strengthening entrepreneurial capabilities through digital technology. Survey results from the Bangun Jiwo Barat community indicate that 82.5% of participants were familiar with digital marketplace platforms, although most had limited experience utilizing them for business development. The findings demonstrate that effective digital empowerment requires combining practical digital platform training, financial literacy, and continuous mentoring. Furthermore, HALVORA has the potential to serve not only as a digital marketplace but also as a community empowerment instrument that enhances digital literacy, supports MSME business expansion, and promotes sustainable local economic development. The study recommends stronger collaboration among local governments, universities, community organizations, and technology providers to build an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem for MSMEs.

Abstract

Digital literacy has emerged as a foundational determinant of MSME participation in digital platform economies, yet its conceptualization and measurement remain inconsistent across the literature. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 20 Scopus-indexed articles to examine how digital literacy interventions shape MSME outcomes within platform ecosystems, with particular reference to the HALVORA digital empowerment platform deployed in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. Guided by the PRISMA methodology and analyzed through VOSviewer bibliometric mapping, the study identifies five thematic clusters: customer satisfaction and AI-driven commerce; information systems and management frameworks; fintech and vertical marketplace applications; competitive market structures; and blockchain-based financial infrastructure. The density visualization confirms commerce and information systems as the most intensively studied research anchors, while the overlay visualization reveals that blockchain, data marketplaces, and financial assets are the most rapidly emerging themes (2024–2025). Field survey data collected from MSME participants in Sleman show that 83.8% demonstrate high literacy and openness toward educational marketplace platforms, with 87.7% affirming the value of integrated digital marketing as a business capability. The findings underscore that effective digital literacy programs must address platform competency, digital payment skills, and marketing analytics simultaneously. This study recommends the HALVORA platform as a scalable vehicle for context-sensitive digital literacy enhancement, with training design grounded in the community's specific marketplace engagement patterns and business sector needs.
