Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of local wisdom-based Islamic Religious Education in developing students’ social attitudes at SMP Swasta YPI Delitua and identifies its supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed descriptive qualitative field research. Informants comprised the principal, three Islamic Religious Education teachers, and two students. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while triangulation was used to strengthen data credibility. The findings show that local cultural values and Islamic values were integrated into classroom learning and school habituation, particularly politeness, mutual cooperation, teamwork, mutual respect, discipline, and social concern. Practices included greeting, smiling, courteous interaction, congregational prayer, Qur’an reading, mutual cooperation, and group work. This implementation helped students become more respectful toward teachers, disciplined, caring, tolerant, and cooperative in learning and social activities. Supporting factors included principal support, teacher collaboration, a religious school environment, positive habituation, teacher role modeling, parental support, and student participation. Inhibiting factors included differences in student character, external environmental influences, limited instructional time, insufficient awareness among some students, and uneven

Abstract

This study analyzes control rights over pusako tinggi under Minangkabau custom, its legal status when no successor to customary authority remains, and its transformation into public waqf. The legal research applies normative juridical and conceptual approaches, supported by statutory analysis and a socio-legal inquiry in Jorong Marambung, Nagari Baringin, Palembayan District, Agam Regency. Data were obtained through literature review, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through reduction, narrative display, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings show that pusako tinggi remains the collective property of the clan, while the mamak kepala waris holds a managerial trust. The absence of a successor does not automatically convert it into individual property while the clan continues to exist. Formally, pusako tinggi is not family waqf because it was not established by a founder, intention, and waqf declaration, although its features resemble a quasi-family endowment. Transformation into public waqf is possible when management fails, deliberation secures approval from the clan, customary leaders, and Nagari Customary Council, and a waqf pledge and nazir appointment follow. This model preserves the asset and connects customary with Islamic law.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the urgency of developing religious laboratories as a means of strengthening character education in schools. The study employed a literature review method by collecting, examining, and analyzing relevant sources, particularly books and journal articles addressing religious laboratories, religious learning, and character education. The data were analyzed descriptively to identify the functions, benefits, and contributions of religious laboratories to students’ character development. The findings indicate that religious laboratories play a strategic role in integrating conceptual understanding with practical religious experiences. Their presence enables students not only to understand religious teachings cognitively but also to actualize religious values, tolerance, responsibility, ethics, discipline, and peace in everyday life. Religious laboratories also provide a contextual learning environment for exploring religious practices, developing spiritual experiences, and fostering mutual respect within diverse social settings. Therefore, the development of religious laboratories should be positioned as a strategic component of religious learning management in schools to strengthen the internalization of values and sustainable character formation among students, thereby making religious education more applicable, contextual, meaningful, and responsive to students’ personal and social development needs.

Abstract

This study analyzes young people’s views of marriage and the factors influencing low interest in marriage in Medan Johor District. It employed a qualitative field research approach. Data were obtained through interviews and documentation involving 12 informants aged 19–25 years who resided in Medan Johor District and were selected purposively. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that informants generally viewed marriage positively as worship, a sacred bond, and a means of establishing a harmonious family. Nevertheless, they considered readiness more important than age when determining the appropriate time to marry. Low interest in marriage was primarily influenced by unstable economic conditions, living costs, and concerns about meeting future household needs. Other factors included mental and emotional readiness, education, employment and career orientation, family experiences, social environment, and exposure to social media narratives concerning conflict, divorce, infidelity, and domestic violence. The findings confirm that postponing marriage does not represent rejection of marriage as an institution; rather, it reflects young people’s strategy to attain multidimensional readiness before establishing a household. Such readiness
