Abstract

This research aimed to find out the effect of discovery learning with lateral thinking on questioning ability of the 10th IPA graders of SMAN 2 Karanganyar.This study was a quasi experimental research with post-test only with non-equivalent group research design. The population of research was all of the 10th graders of SMAN 2 Karanganyar. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling one. The 10th IPA 2 grade served as experiment group and the 10th IPA 3 as control. Techniques of collecting data used were test and non-test. Test technique employed essay question instrument to measure the learning outcome in cognitive domain, while non-test technique used observation sheet instrument to measure the students’ questioning ability, learning outcome in psychomotor and affective domains and the implementation of learning syntax. Hypothesis testing was carried out using t-test with SPSS version 17 help.The results showed that the ability to ask students between the experimental group and the control group were significantly different . Values experimental group students' ability to ask include: questions asking for an explanation of 1.54 ; The question of what , why and how 36.18 ; background hypothetical question 40.13 . Value KPS control groups included: the question asked for an explanation of 0.57 ; The question of what , why and how 41.03 ; background hypothetical question 29.06 This research concluded that there was an effect of discovery learning model with lateral thinking method on the questioning ability of the 10th IPA graders of SMAN 2 Karanganyar. Keywords: discovery learning, lateral thinking, questioning ability

Abstract

Hasil observasi di beberapa sekolah di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS) menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa masih di bawah kriteria ketuntasan minimum (KKM). Hal ini disebabkan karena keterbatasan kreativitas guru dalam memilih metode yang tepat dalam proses pembelajaran, dan masih banyak guru yang belum memanfaatkan media pembelajaran sehingga siswa merasa bosan dan pada akhirnya berpengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Menganalisis keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan Konvensional berbantuan alat peraga terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experiment dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design yang melibatkan dua kelas, yaitu kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran  NHT dan Konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar dan dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar kelompok NHT (0,70) dan Konvensional (0,57). Penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbantuan alat peraga lebih efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dibandingkan model Konvensional

Abstract

Bahan ajar merupakan salah satu komponen penting yang diperlukan dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan adanya bahan ajar yang sesuai diharapkan dapat membantu kelancaran kegiatan pembelajaran. Mata kuliah pengantar profesi guru biologi merupakan mata kuliah yang wajib ditempuh oleh mahasiswa semester dua pada program studi pendidikan biologi FKIP UAD. Mata kuliah ini berisi tentang segala hal yang berkaitan dengan profesi seorang guru. Bahan ajar yang selama ini digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran merupakan bahan ajar sederhana yang dibuat oleh dosen dengan mengggunakan referensi berupa aturan perundang-undangan tentang guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bahan ajar yang perlu dikembangkan untuk mata kuliah pengantar profesi guru biologi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan biologi angkatan 2016 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. Sampel dipilih secara acak sebanyak 75 mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi kegiatan perkuliahan dan angket terbuka untuk mahasiswa. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa kendala yang dihadapi pada pembelajaran mata kuliah pengantar profesi guru biologi adalah belum adanya bahan ajar yang bisa dijadikan sebagai pegangan dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil analisis angket kebutuhan mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa 1) bahan ajar diperlukan oleh mahasiswa adalah berupa buku ajar, 2) materi di dalam buku ajar berisi tentang: sejarah guru, peraturan tentang guru, kompetensi guru, kompetensi guru biologi, sertifikasi guru, dan profil guru di negara lain. Studi ini merupakan bagian dari studi awal pengembangan buku ajar sebagai bahan ajar mata kuliah pengantar profesi guru biologi.

Abstract

The aim of this research is improve quality of biology learning for teacher performance, conditioning class, student attitude in class, and student motivation of learning in student grade of X-E SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura academic year 2011/2012. This research refers to The Classroom Action Research with subject were 39 students in grade of X-E SMA Negeri I Kartasura. The sources of data consist of information from teacher and student, places and events that happened during teaching and learning process, and also some documents. The data of research is collected through observation sheet, questionnaire and interview. The research uses triangulation as validation data. The research uses descriptive as analytic data. The result of this research shows that there has been improvement percentage of the quality of biology learning in every aspect which includes teacher performance, conditioning of class, student attitude, and student motivation of learning. The percentage’s mean of the questioner result in  sequence I is  conditioning of class 72,56%; student attitude 65,14%; student motivation of learning 75,02%, and of observasi data are teacher performance 83,33%; conditioning of class 71,54%; student attitude 63,37%; student motivation 75%.  The reflection of the first sequence shows that students having low of argument explanation in the learning goal, so the researcher gave further treatment in sequence II.  In the second sequence the percentage’s mean of the questioner result is teacher performance 93,33%; conditioning of class 82,69%; student attitude 86,08%; student motivation 86,22%, in this cycle every quality of biology  learning aspects improved in line with the target. It can be concluded from the research that Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) approach application accompained by Subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP) can improve quality of biology learning of students in grade X-E SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura academic year 2011/2012. Key Words: Quality of biology learning, Contextual Teaching Learning, Subject Specific Pedagogy

Abstract

This study aims to describe the validity and practicality of science learning modules based on the constructivism approach to the material adaptation of plants to certain environments to sustain life in valid and practical class V elementary school students. This type of research is Research and Development. The science learning module based on the constructivism approach was developed using 3-D models. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year. Data collection is done by validation and testing of modules developed. The module design that was designed was validated by two expert lecturers and then tested in class V of SD Negeri 07 Lubuk Jantan to find out the practicality and validity of the modules developed. The results of the study found that the science learning module based on the constructivism approach on the material adaptation of plants to certain environments to sustain life for students in grade V elementary school is in the category of very valid with an average validity of 3.65. The modules that have been developed are categorized as very practical by educators with an average percentage of practicality of 91%, also categorized as very practical according to students with an average percentage of practicality of 91%. This shows that the science learning module is based on a constructivism approach to the material adaptation of plants to certain environments to maintain the life produced is very valid and very practical so that it can be used in learning in class V SD.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the influence of brain based learning (BBL) model toward biology learning achievement of X degree students at SMA Negeri Colomadu in academic year 2012/2013.This research was a quasi experiment research using posttest only non equivalent group design. This research applied BBL model in experimental group and deduktif approach with discussion, classical course and question-answer method in control group. The population of this research was all of X degree students at SMA Negeri Colomadu in 2011/2012 academic year. Sampling techniques used cluster sampling, that has chosen X4 as experiment group and X5 as control group. Data was collected using  multiple choice test, observation sheet, and document. The data were analyzed by t-test. This research concluded that the application of BBL model has taken good effect toward student’s achievement cognitive, psychomotor, and  affective domain in learning biology of SMA Negeri Colomadu. Key Words: Brain Based Learning Model, Biology Learning Achievement

Abstract

21st century competency consists of communication, creativity, collaborative, and critical thinking skills (4Cs). This study aims to determine the profile of 21st century skills (4Cs) in prospective biology teachers. The research method used was survey research. Data collection tool in the form of a questionnaire. The stratified random sampling technique was used in sampling with the number of respondents 120 students of the biology education year 2018/2019. The results of the study show that the 21st century competence of prospective biology teachers is classified as moderate.

Abstract

This research’s aim is to improve the posing question skill of the students in X Imersi 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar academic Year 2013/2014 about ecosystem material through discovery learning application.     This research is a class action research which consists of three cycles. Each cycle contains planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research subject is the students in X Imersi 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar Academic Year 2013/2014. The data source is from the questions that cover the quantity and quality of the question. The question’s quantity is counted from the sum of questions that is given by the students while the question’s quality is counted from the sum of questions’ kind that is given by the students based on their thinking process and knowledge dimension. Data collecting techniques of this research are using observation, interview and documentation then data validation is using triangulation method. Data analyzing technique of this research is descriptive qualitative analysis which is done in three components, they are: data reduction, data presentation and drawing the conclusion or verification. The research’ procedure is using spiral mode which is interdependent. The result of the research shows that the implementation of discovery learning improves the students’ posing question skill that covers the quantity and quality of the question. The question’s quantity improvement from pre-cycle to the first cycle is 70 questions, the first cycle to the second cycle is 46 questions and the second cycle to the third cycle is 20 questions. Then the question’s quality improvement from pre-cycle to the first cycle is 29,16%, the first cycle to the second cycle is 17,18% and the second cycle to the third cycle is 16,14%. This research’s conclusion is the implementation of discovery learning can improve the posing question skill of the students in X Imersi 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar academic Year 2013/2014 about ecosystem material. Key Words: discovery learning, posing question skill

Abstract

The purpose of the research is for increasing students oral communication skills through the implementation of Problem Based Instruction learning model.This research is classroom action research that is doing by 2 cycle, each consist of 4 phase that  is planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data that resulted from this research are students oral communication skills that gained by observation and  supported by the result of  interview, documentation, and cognitive test. Resource of data are from observation paper, information from the result of  students and teacher interview, observation note, and learning material that are silaby, lesson plan, and students worksheet. Data collection is through the observation, interview, and documentation. Data validity is test by method triangulation. Data analysis is done by qualitative descriptive technique. Result in this research is showed that students oral communication skills generally increased in the each cyle. Score performance of answering teacher questions indicator are 9,09% on pracycle; 30,30% on 1st cycle; and 45,45% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of ask about related topic indicator are 3,03% on pracycle; 0% on 1st cycle; and 27,27% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of give an opinion on the class disscussion indicator are 0% on pracycle; 3,03% on 1st cycle; and 15,15% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of give an opinion on the group disscussion indicator are 3,03% on pracycle; 60,61% on 1st cycle; and 54,55% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of capability in organizing material indicator are 0% on pracycle; 69,70% on 1st cycle; and 60,61% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of using appropriate language indicator are 0% on pracycle; 51,52% on 1st cycle; and 52,52% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of appropriate body languade as a eye contact indicator are 0% on pracycle; 18,18% on 1st cycle; and 63,64% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of hearing all of students opinion indicator are 0% on pracycle; 48,48% on 1st cycle; and 63,64% on 2nd cycle. Score performance of give a responses with a language and body about others opinion indicator are 0% on pracycle; 39,39% on 1st cycle; and 63,64% on 2nd cycle. The conclusion of the research showed that there was enhancement of the students oral communication skills through the implementation of Problem Based Instruction learning model. Keywords : oral communication skills, problem based instruction

Abstract

The aim of this research is to ascertain the influence of collaborative- constructivist learning models toward critical thinking ability of X grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar in academic year 2012/2013.  This research was quasi experiment research which used posttest only nonequivalent control group design.  The population of this research was all of X grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar in academic year 2012/2013.   Sampling techniques used cluster sampling that choosed X6 as experiment group and X7 as control group. Data was collected using test and non test.  Test method using critical thinking test. Non test method using observation sheet and document.  The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. This research concluded that application of collaborative- constructivist learning models has real influential toward critical thinking ability of X grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar. Keywords: Collaborative-Constructivist Learning Model, Critical Thinking Ability
