Abstract

Writing is a core competency in Indonesian language learning, playing a crucial role in developing students' communicative abilities. This study aims to analyze various approaches, strategies, and methods for teaching Indonesian writing that are effective in improving students' communicative competence in elementary and secondary schools. This literature review examines previous research from national and international journals, educational textbooks, and policy documents related to Indonesian language teaching. The analysis shows that writing instruction that emphasizes the writing process (writing process approach), project-based learning, and the application of digital technology significantly contributes to students' ability to convey ideas, utilize vocabulary, and organize text structures effectively. Furthermore, the integration of reading activities and classroom discussions has been shown to support the improvement of students' oral and written communication skills. This study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach, which focuses not only on the technical aspects of writing but also on the development of critical thinking skills, creativity, and effective communication skills. In conclusion, structured, interactive, and contextualized writing instruction can optimally foster students' communicative competence. These findings provide implications for Indonesian language teachers in designing relevant and innovative writing learning strategies.

Abstract

Learning to read is the most important and fundamental aspect of education because it is only through reading that we can learn everything about school, society, and even the outside world that students often desire. However, many students at Batu Balian 3 Public Elementary School, particularly third graders, still lack reading skills. This is due to the monotonous learning process. This makes the learning process boring, and students quickly become bored with the lessons taught. Therefore, this study aims to determine the use of word cards and to improve the reading skills of third-grade students at Batu Balian 3 Public Elementary School, Banjar Regency. This study used a mixed-methods approach, focusing on descriptive qualitative data to determine the use of word cards and supported by quantitative data from test results to measure improvements in students' reading skills. Data were collected through direct observation and reading ability tests (pretest and posttest). The results of this study indicate that the use of word cards in improving the reading skills of third-grade students at Batu Balian 3 Public Elementary School, Banjar Regency, was implemented through several systematic stages. These stages include letter and syllable recognition, mastery of new vocabulary, and practice constructing sentences using the SPOK (Subject, Predicate, Object, Adverb) structure. Students take turns arranging word cards and reading them aloud in front of the class, making the learning process more interactive and focused. Quantitative test data showed a significant improvement in students' reading skills after implementing word cards. Further observations during the study confirmed that this medium was highly effective in improving students' reading skills. This is because word cards facilitate students' visual and auditory word recognition, enrich their vocabulary, and improve reading fluency. Furthermore, students' understanding of basic sentence structure also improved, positively impacting their ability to comprehend the overall content of the reading. Thus, word cards have proven to be an efficient and comprehensive tool for improving students' reading skills at Batu Balian 3 Elementary School, Banjar Regency.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping the character of children and adolescents, including fostering economic awareness and social awareness. Economic awareness in children and adolescents is not only related to the ability to manage personal finances but also encompasses an understanding of ethical values, social responsibility, and the principles of justice in Islam. This study uses a literature review approach to analyze previous research addressing the implementation of PAI in instilling economic awareness and social awareness. Literature sources were obtained from scientific journals, academic books, and official publications between 2015 and 2025. The study results indicate that integrating the concepts of zakat, almsgiving, hard work, and honesty into PAI learning can enhance children and adolescents' understanding of the importance of managing resources responsibly and foster empathy for the underprivileged. Furthermore, learning based on social practice activities, such as managing charitable funds in schools and community-based entrepreneurship projects, has proven effective in strengthening productive economic behavior and social awareness. These findings confirm that PAI is not merely spiritual education but also a strategic tool in shaping an economically and socially responsible generation. This study recommends integrating the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum with financial literacy programs and social activities to optimize character development in children and adolescents.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning plays a strategic role in shaping students' academic, spiritual, and character competencies. However, the dynamic development of science, technology, and student character requires innovation in learning strategies so that Islamic values ​​can be understood in a relevant and contextual manner. This article aims to examine various innovative PAI learning strategies based on a literature review of national and international journals from the past decade. The method used is a literature review, analyzing articles related to PAI learning, character education, and innovative pedagogical approaches such as blended learning, project-based learning, problem-based learning, scientific approaches, and the use of digital media. The study results indicate that innovative learning strategies in PAI not only improve students' cognitive competencies such as religious literacy, critical thinking skills, and understanding of learning materials but also strengthen affective and psychomotor aspects through the internalization of character values ​​(discipline, responsibility, tolerance, honesty, and spirituality). Learning innovations that emphasize active participation, problem-solving, collaboration, and the use of technology have proven to be more effective than traditional lecture-only methods. This study recommends strengthening the pedagogical competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in designing creative, contextual, and 21st-century learning without neglecting the core values ​​of Islamic teachings. Therefore, innovation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning strategies is an urgent need to shape a generation with character, religiousness, and competence amidst global challenges.

Abstract

This literature study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values ​​in promoting gender equality and respect for differences in the educational context. Amidst growing global awareness of the importance of social justice, PAI plays a strategic role as a subject that not only teaches ritual aspects but also shapes students' character and social behavior. The literature shows that Islamic values ​​such as al-musāwah (equality), ‘adālah (justice), rahmah (compassion), and respect for diversity are relevant normative foundations in PAI learning to build a moderate, inclusive, and just perspective. This study identifies several implementation strategies, such as integrating equality values ​​into morals materials, using a pedagogical approach that emphasizes collaboration without gender bias, and developing a school culture that upholds anti-discrimination. The study also reveals that implementation barriers still arise, such as patriarchal culture, teachers' lack of understanding of the concept of gender in Islam, and resistance from some communities who consider gender issues to be a Western product. However, studies have concluded that integrating Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values ​​into gender issues can increase mutual respect, reduce gender stereotypes, and strengthen tolerance in educational settings. This literature review recommends strengthening teacher competencies, updating the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum to be based on equality, and collaboration between schools and families to build an inclusive learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using interactive learning media based on Canva in improving elementary school students’ mathematics learning outcomes. The research employed a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach through an in-depth analysis of various scientific sources, including journals, books, conference proceedings, and relevant previous studies. The findings show that Canva helps teachers visualize abstract mathematical concepts into more concrete, engaging, and easily understandable forms for students. This interactive media has also been proven to enhance students’ motivation, engagement, and active participation throughout the learning process. Moreover, Canva supports the development of essential 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication (4C), which are highly needed in the digital era. Although challenges such as limited internet access and teachers’ digital competence still exist, these obstacles can be minimized through training and the optimal use of Canva’s free features. Overall, Canva serves as an effective, innovative, and relevant digital learning tool aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum in improving elementary students’ mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in shaping the spiritual, moral, and social abilities of students in the digital era. However, technological developments, globalization, and cultural changes present new challenges to the learning process. This study aims to analyze the relevance of innovative, effective, and appropriate PAI learning strategies for the needs of 21st-century students. The method used is a literature review, reviewing various recent sources related to the implementation of PAI learning strategies in schools. The results of the study indicate that project-based learning strategies, exemplary approaches, contextual learning, and digital technology integration can improve the quality of learning and help internalize Islamic values ​​more meaningfully. In addition, the use of digital media such as animated videos, Islamic comics, prayer simulations, and online learning platforms can increase student interest in learning and active participation. However, the implementation of innovative learning strategies still faces obstacles, including uneven teacher competency, limited digital resources, and suboptimal learning environment support. Therefore, ongoing teacher training, collaboration between schools and families, and the development of learning media tailored to student needs are needed. This research confirms that the implementation of holistic, creative, and adaptive Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning strategies has great potential in developing students who are faithful, have noble character, and are able to face the challenges of the times.

Abstract

Gender equality is a crucial issue in the development of modern education, including in the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This literature review aims to analyze the concept of gender equality from an Islamic perspective and examine how these values ​​can be instilled through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction at various levels of education. This research employed a literature review method, reviewing journal articles, books, and relevant research findings from the past five years. The results indicate that Islam, in principle, places men and women as equal beings in terms of human values, moral responsibility, and spiritual potential. Quranic verses such as Surah Al-Hujurāt: 13 and Surah An-Nahl: 97, as well as the Prophet's hadith, emphasize respect for women's dignity and justice in social relations. In practice, PAI plays a strategic role in building students' critical awareness of gender bias, providing a comprehensive understanding of the principle of justice in Islam, and fostering mutual respect between men and women. Integrating equality values ​​can be achieved through the curriculum, an inclusive pedagogical approach, teacher role models, and the use of gender-sensitive teaching materials. However, various challenges were identified, such as patriarchal culture, rigid textual interpretations, and a lack of teacher training. This study concludes that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has great potential as a means of internalizing gender equality values, provided it is supported by a humanistic educational paradigm, moderate interpretations, and supportive institutional policies. Curriculum strengthening and teacher training are needed so that PAI can optimally contribute to realizing a gender-just society.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in shaping students' character, including the work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit needed to face global socio-economic challenges. This literature study aims to analyze the concept of work ethic from an Islamic perspective, entrepreneurial values ​​within Islamic teachings, and how PAI can be an effective means of instilling these two aspects. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature review technique of books, national and international journals, and related educational documents. The results of the study indicate that the concept of work ethic in Islam is based on the values ​​of sincerity, responsibility, discipline, trustworthiness, and hard work (al-jiddiyyah). Meanwhile, Islamic entrepreneurial values ​​are reflected in the principles of honesty, creativity, professionalism, courage to take risks, and orientation towards the benefit of the community. PAI plays a role in instilling these values ​​through materials on morals, muamalah jurisprudence, teacher role models, habituation, and project-based extracurricular activities. The integration of PAI learning with entrepreneurial practice learning has also been proven to increase student motivation, creativity, and independence. In conclusion, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is not only an instrument for spiritual strengthening, but also a means of developing human resources with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Therefore, curriculum innovation, contextual learning methods, and school-community collaboration are needed to strengthen PAI's role as a driver of productive character in the younger generation.

Abstract

Long jump training for young athletes requires a systematic, structured approach that aligns with the characteristics of the child's physical and psychological development. One strategy considered effective in developing technical and fundamental movement skills is the graduated training method. This literature review aims to analyze the implementation of the graduated training method in long jump training for young athletes. The analysis was conducted through a review of various recent scientific sources discussing motor skill development, graduated training, and long jump technique instruction for beginners.The study results indicate that the graduated training method significantly contributes to improving athletes' understanding of basic techniques, motor coordination, muscle strength, and consistent performance. The training model, which progresses from simple to complex stages, such as basic running, the start, the takeoff, the glide, and the landing, has been shown to help young athletes gradually adapt to the demands of long jump technique without causing excessive physical and mental stress. Furthermore, the graduated approach also strengthens athletes' motivation and self-confidence, thus supporting long-term performance. Therefore, the graduated training method is recommended as a relevant and effective learning strategy for early-age long jump training.
