Abstract

Trans Batam is a mode of public transportation offered by the Batam city government to the public. In an effort to maintain relationships with customers, the quality of services and facilities is key in maintaining customer and providing high value through customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of service quality and facilities on consumer satisfaction on users of Trans Batam bus transportation. The method used is a quantitative method with a type of causality research. The population in this study were trans Batam bus passengers. While the study sample consisted of 100 respondents who used purposive sampling technique. Based on this research, the hypothesis testing between service quality and facility variables partially and simultaneously has a significant effect on consumer satisfaction, case studies on Transs Batam bus public transportation users. These results indicate that the better the quality of services and facilities provided will increase customer satisfaction as users of public transportation services.

Abstract

The number of types of road disruption one of them, namely the use of speed limiting tools. Speed limiting equipment must always refer to Kepmenhub Number KM. 3 of 1994. There are still many who make speed limiting devices dont in accordance with the rules and result in the failure of road functions. Regarding the perpetrators regulated in Article 28 Paragraph (1) UULLAJ and the criminal sanctions are regulated in Article 274 Paragraph (1). The rule is only people regulating individuals not business entities. Formulation of the problem in this study is how criminal liability of business entities as perpetrators of crimes which results in disruption of road functions and whether the criminal sanctions applied in the UULLAJ in accordance with objectives of the law. Purpose of this study is to determine the criminal liability of business entities as perpetrators crimes that result in disruption of road functions and to find out the criminal sanctions applied in the UULLAJ in accordance with the objectives of the law. This type of research is normative legal research or library legal research methods. Business entities cannot be held accountable for crimes because the UULLAJ does not regulate this. Provisions of criminal sanctions applied in the UULLAJ against perpetrators of road disruption contained in Article 28 paragraph (1) Jo Article 274 paragraph (1) do not accommodate sense of justice, this is because in the phrase everyone refers only to the legal subject of individuals.

Abstract

Tax as one of the national development funding sources in advancing community prosperity, one of which is land and building tax. Purpose This study aims to determine the effect of awareness of taxpayers and tax sanctions on taxpayer compliance in paying land and building tax in Batam City. From the population of 4,142 samples obtained 365 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the awareness of taxpayers has a significant effect on taxpayer compliance in paying the earth and buildings, because the significant value is 0,000> 0.05, and tax sanctions also have a significant effect on taxpayer compliance in paying land and building taxes with significant value amounting to 0,000> 0.05. The results of the study show simultaneously the awareness of taxpayers and tax sanctions together have a significant effect on compliance with paying land and building taxes. The Adjusted R Square value is 0.405 or 40.5%. This means that the level of awareness of taxpayers and tax sanctions can explain the compliance variable of paying for land and building tax by 40.5% while the remaining 59.5% is influenced by other factors not included in this study. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear analysis techniques. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that the awareness of taxpayers and tax sanctions have a positive effect on taxpayer compliance in paying land taxes and buildings in Batam City.

Abstract

Human resources is the most important asset in a company or organization that affects the efficiency and effectiveness of the company, so the company is expected to manage MSDM as possible so as not to happen low productivity in a company. This research was conducted at PT LB Technologies Batam which is located in Komp Sarana Unggulan Block B No.8 Jl. Engku putri Batam Center. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of work discipline, employee turnover and overtime work on the productivity of PT LB Technologies Batam. The population in this study as many as 140 people, in determining the sample using Slovin formula so that the sample obtained 104 people. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale to measure 20 indicators consisting of 20 statements. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 20 application. The result of analysis from this research indicates that work discipline has positive and significant effect to work productivity, employee turnover have positive and significant effect to work productivity, overtime work has positive and significant effect to work productivity and work discipline, employee turnover and overtime work have a positive and significant effect on work productivity. Based on the results of this study can be concluded that the variables of work discipline, employee turnover and overtime work affect work productivity of 0.750 or 75%, while the remaining 25% influenced by other factors not included in this study.

Abstract

This research was carried out to figure out the hero’s journey stages of the character Alice in novel Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland by doing the archetypal study. The aims of this research are indicate the separation stage and return stage. Moreover, this research is a descriptive qualitative research and the data is collected through library research. The result will presented using informal method. As the result of this research, it is found that not all stages in separation and return stage that proposed by Joseph Campbell can be found in Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland. There are only three stages out of five separation stages and one stage out of six return stages that can be found in the novel. However, the novel can still be categorized as a hero’s journey story. Even though the hero’s journey stage is not complete, the story still reached it finish line and the reader can understand the story well.

Abstract

Language has many variations in its use, one of them is slang. Slang is used for a very informal speech variety which often serves as an “in group” language, such as teenagers, army, and pop people group (Richard:1985). Slang is closely related to the community environment. The objective of this research to find out the types of slang word that contained in Mariah Carey’s song lyrics and to find the most often slang language appeared in Mariah Carey’s song lyrics. This research is qualitative research. In the data collection researchers using the method of observation with simak bebas libat cakap technique. In analyzing the data the researcher used orthographic identity method with dividing key-factors technique. The result of the research are presenting by an informal method in the form of words. After conducting the research process, the researcher found 11 types of slang word in the lyrics of Mariah Carey song based on yule’s theory. The 11 types of slang word are etimology, coinage, borrowing, compounding, blending, clipping, backformation, convertion, acronyms, derivation, multipleprosses. In this research, researcher make conclude that the most often slang word appear in the lyrics of Mariah Carey song is clipping.

Abstract

Domestic violence is one of the Nasional problem. This is indicated by Law No. 23 of 2004 about elimanation of domestic violence. In 2017 there were 300.000 cases and 259.150 were cases of women. In the city of Batam institution to hat handles cases of domestic violence is the service of empowering women and children (PPPA). In the last 3 years is increased especially women. The PPPA city office in Batam overcomes cases of domestic violence in 2016 dealing with 15 victims, in 2017 21 victims and in 2018 as many as 34 victims. This is one reason researchers conduct research. This research was carried out to the extent of the PPPA service in handling cases of domestic violence. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interview and observation. The results of the study were: the role of PPPA Batam in handling cases of domestic violence, the obstacles and solution needed by the PPPA service Batam City in overcoming the problem of dome. This research is expected to contribute knowledge in handling the problem of domestic violence and is used as a consideration for policy actors to solve the problem of domestic violence.

Abstract

This study aims to know empirically the direct influence and influence of the variables of compensation, work discipline and employee performance simultaneously. This study used 111 employees at PT. Haswarpin Group as a research sample. The data obtained were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 20 statistical software. The results of this study are: compensation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and compensation and work discipline simultaneously has a positive effect and significant to employee performance.

Abstract

Thisi studyi entitled thei influence of short-term debt, accounts receivable turnover and working capital on profitability in manufacturing companies in the food and beverage subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013-2017. This study aims to determine short-term debt, accounts receivable turnover and working capital both partially and simultaneously. The population of this study is a food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing company listed on the Stock Exchange in 2013-2017, which was included in the period of 5 years so that 40 samples were obtained and this sample study used purposive sampling, namely sampling technique in accordance with certain criteria and obtained by 8 companies. Processing data using SPSS version 22 software. The datai analysisi methodi usedi isi multiplei lineari regressioni methodsi. Thei resultsi ofi thei t-testi analysis partially indicate thati short-term debt does not have a significant effect on profitability, receivable turnover does not significantly influence profitability , while working capital has a significant effect on profitability. The results of the F test analysis show that simultaneously or together there is a significant influence between the variables of short-term debt, accounts receivable turnover and working capital on profitability.

Abstract

The rapid development of housing in the city of Batam make to community more and more choose to choose the criteria of occupancy in want. This makes the competition among developers increasingly tight, in because of increasingly fierce competition companies to complete to attract consumers to choose their products. This study aims to determine the effect of price, product quality and service quality to purchase decisions. The sample used was 100 respondents with incindental sampling method. Data processing using descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis processed with the help of SPSS program 21. The results showed all the data valid and reliable. From t test result known that t count for variable price (X1), product quality (X2) and service quality (X3) > t table 1,983 with significance < 0,05. So the first hypothesis, the second hypothesis, and the third hypothesis are accepted. The f shows F arithmetic > 2,70 and significance < 0,05 this the fourth hypothesis is accepted.
