Abstract

Universality in Islam is close to the belief that the earth is round. This is especially true for nowadays, when the idea is often expressed for merely part of an apologia or for more serious discussion. Culture is an inseparable part in Islamic thought, as an integral part of human diversity, which has dynamic pattern. Ironically, in the middle of dynamics in the community, there are several sub-cultures that seem not quite compatible with the values taught and offered by Islam, such as the culture of queuing-laziness, the culture of anticorruption, the culture of intolerance and so forth. This culture is precisely exhibited in many Muslim populated countries, including Indonesia. Theology discusses the basic tenets of a religion, while culture is the totality of the object (intellectual culture) that is supported by the subject (individual, group, class, sectors of society). Conventionally, the words madinah is defined as a city. But linguistically, the word implies civilization. In the Arabic, civilization is expressed in words or tamaddun madaniyah, other than in words hadlārah. There are two basic values embodied in the Charter of Medina as a base in establishing the state of Medina. First, al-Musāwah wa al- ‘adālah, the principle of equality and fairness, second, inclusiveness (openness). In the context of Indonesia, two largest non-government organization of NU and Muhammadiyah are examples of how the efforts to develop the basic values of civil society. Abstract

Multicultural education is one of the alternatives to integrate diversity in Indonesia. Multicultural education and implementation is a strategy based on the concept of diversity that exists in society, particularly that of the learners, either in the form of ethnic, cultural, language, religion, social status, age, gender, or capabilities. With multicultural education that teaches the values of tolerance and togetherness more intensively, students are expected to not only be able to absorb the lessons learned, but also to have awareness to always behave humanist, pluralist and democratic. Abstract

Tehnik mengajar Mind-Mapping telah terbukti efektif pada penelitianpenelitian sebelumnya. Di antaranya adalah penelitian yang dilaksanakan oleh Nurlaila (2013) pada SMP dalam pengajaran teks deskriptif. Kemudian Irwandi (2012) menguji coba teknik Mind-Mapping dalam pengajaran deskriptif teks di SMA yang berkesimpulan sukses. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti ingin menguji coba Teknik Mind-Mapping dalam pengajaran deskriptif teks pada level yang berbeda, yaitu di tingkat perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada mahasiswa jurusan PAI semester 2 IAI Al-Qolam Gondanglegi. Sample yang diambil adalah kelas A dan B dengan jumlah masing-masing 25 mahasiswa. Kedua kelas diberikan pre-test, dan hasilnya, kedua kelas memiliki kemampuan yang seimbang dalam hal menulis Bahasa Inggris. Kelas A adalah grup eksperimen yang dalam proses belajar mengajar, metode yang digunakan adalah Mind-Mapping. Kelas B adalah grup kontrol yang dalam pembelajarannya menggunakan teknik tradisional. Di akhir pembelajaran, kedua regu diberi post-test untuk mengukur seberapa jauh keberhasilan mahasiswa dalam menulis paragraf deskriptif setelah mendapatkan perlakuan yang berbeda. Peneliti juga memberikan angket motivasi belajar untuk mengontrol apakah motivasi belajar juga memberikan dampak pada pencapaian mahasiswa. Hasil dari post-test dan motivasi belajar secara simultan menjelaskan bahwa perlakuan pada pembelajaran dan motivasi yang berbeda berpengaruh terhadap prestasi mahasiswa. Kata kunci: Mind Mapping, Teknik tradisional dan Motivasi.

Abstract

Universities as higher education are dominant social institutions that influence culture and responsible for cultural transmission and preservation. Higher education should be ready to face the challenges of globalization and must produce competitive graduates in the global era. Higher Education must have a global vision as well as employ international standard Resources. Therefore, mindset shift in universities is necessary to keep pace with the change andto create dynamic, productive, as well as competitive work culture. The followings are the strategies that can be taken by the university leaders in order to increase the lecturers’ work culture: (1) Creating the organizational and the intelligent culture; (2) encouraging the spirit of competition dynamic; (3) improvingemotional intelligence to establish effective network; and (4) intensifying communication to create cohesive work team. Abstract

Based on findings of literature study, a pleasing, delightful, as well as unique Learning on Bahasa can be summed up as follows: (1) delightful learning needs various methods such as interactive learning, learning by doing, indirect learning, as well as effective direct one; (2) Character building should teach moral nature, sincerity, responsibility; (3) Methods of Character Building include: exemplary, simulation (experiential learning), icon method and affirmation (sticking and hanging), power repeat method, 99 excellent character method, Values of excellence building, as well as metaphor usage. Abstract

Generally, the duties and responsibilities of a teacher is to develop intelligence that exists within every student. This intelligence must be developed so thatstudents can grow, can be smart human and ready to face any challenge in the future. Given the duties and responsibilities of teachers are so complex,then a professional teacher is required to have some specific competencies, namely; 1) Pedagogic competence, 2) Personal competence, 3) Professionalcompetence, 4) Social competence. The development and the improvement of teacher’s competence is done through a system of coaching and sustainable development of teacher’s professionalism associated with the acquisition of credit rate functional position. Activities to obtain credit number of functional position obtained by teachers at least via: 1) Collective activities that improve the competence of teachers and/or teacher professionalism. 2) Education and training. 3) Apprenticeship. 4) Scientific publications on the results of researches or innovative ideas. 5) Innovative works. 6) Presentation at the scientific forum. 7) Publication of textbooks that passes the assessment by the national standards bodies of education. 8) The publication of enrichment. 9) Publication of teachers’ manuals. 10) Publication of field experience in special education and/or special education services. 11) Recognition for the accomplishment or dedication as teacher provided by the government. Abstract

God created man with a dimension of perfection that encompasses many dimensions, namely; jasadiyah that arranges everything physical aspects of the human dimension; and nafsiyah which regulates desire as well as mind and thoughts, feelings, will and freedom to live life on earth; and the dimensions of ruhiyah that has spiritual and transcendental aspects and can collaborate with dimensions of jasadiyah and nafsiyah. Early childhood education or tarbiyah al-aulād is an effort to optimize the children’s potencies in accordance with the nature of the various dimensions to perfection. Abstract

Education which is derived from revelation of Allah and sunnah of Prophet Muhammad becomes the main component in moslem's character building. Human is created with four potential abilities such as; instinct, sense, mind and religion. These potential abilities are used by human beings to equip themselves as the khalifah (the caliph) in the earth. Through education, human potential abilities must be developed and actualized well because human beings are bound with their values, duties, and responsibilities. The religious values are always corresponded with human's natural tendency so that becomes the basis in designing Islamic education sistem wich is implemented in formal and informal education, especially in the family. Religious values must be included in education goal, curriculum, media, and process which is still continuing up to now. The implication of the education which is full of religious values is human beings can do their Jobs and their responsibilities as the caliph. In conclusion, it can be said that human beings who have religious values can be called as truly moslems. Keywords: religious values, education, moslem's character

Abstract

Majelis taklim is one place that effectively became the venue for education and propagation of Islam since the time of the Prophet until now. it socializes the teachings of Islam in building an advanced, independent and civilized society (khair ummah), provides solutions for both men and women. It functions as center for value of peace, center for community development, and the agent of social control. Majelis taklim imitates the way The Prophet Muhammad delivered revelations that he received to his companions. He did the ta’lim in some places such as Dār al-Arqām, house of the Prophet, his companions’ houses, and al-shuffah. He also provides certain days to teach religion for women. Abstract

Khawarij’s main doctrine is the doctrine of takfir. For this sect, those who do not determine the law according to the Qur'an is kafir. So are those who perpetrated a great sin that they have to be killed or combated. However, Khawarij also has some fairly nuanced subsects, from ones whose understanding of the hardest, such as al-Azariqah, until slightly soft, like al-Sufriyah. Historical, socio-cultural, geographical and psychological factors had form Khawarij’s doctrines into radical, fanatic and anti-compromise. Historically, Khawarij sect born from hard friction between Ali and Mu’awiyah. In socio-cultural and geographical sphere, this group comes from Bedouin tribes who live in the barren and arid desert thus forging a strong character. In addition, the geographic position, away from the center of civilization, had form insular insight. The radicality also caused by the psychological elements that appear as a result of the rejection of their proposals against Ali to cancel arbitration with Mu'awiyah.
