Abstract

Food safety monitoring is one of keys achieving SDGs in 2030 and it can be done by environmental health risk assessment. Imported fruits have high risk for health from chemical contaminants to preserve during distribution and one of them often found is formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is harmful compound for human health and it may cause carcinogenic effects. This study aimed to estimate formaldehyde health risk on imported fruits. It was determined by hazard identification, dose-response assessment, exposure assessment and risk characterization. Data used were primary data (2019) and secondary data (2014-2022) with same topic in 15 cities in Indonesia. Food intake referred to average fruit consumption person per day from national economy social survey (2016), recommendation intake from WHO, projections and realization of fruit consumption of Indonesian people from Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture’s Food Security Agency (2018). The monitoring of chemical contaminant has to be priority in distribution chain and variation of fruit daily intake may decrease health risk from chemical contaminant. The consumption of fruit has to be variation.

Abstract

Sleep is one of the growth factors for babies. Where during sleep all the muscles stop working and the nerves work according to their position. Putting a baby to sleep is not easy, there are many things we have to do. Sometimes babies' sleep is not optimal, this is due to many factors, one of which is because the body is tired after excessive activity. From the initial survey conducted by researchers at Posyandu anggrek Pojok Village, Kediri City in 2023, there were 10 babies, babies who were fussy and after having a baby massage experienced a sound sleep (40%), babies who had not had a baby massage and experienced disturbances in their sleep (60 %). This shows that babies who have not had massage experience problems sleeping. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in sleep quantity in babies aged 3-6 months between before and after baby massage at Posyandu anggrek Pojok Village, Kediri City in 2023. The design used in this research was pre-experiment, with pre-test and post-test methods. The variables measured in this study were (Y1) the quantity of baby sleep before the baby massage and (Y2) the quantity of baby sleep after the baby massage. This research uses the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test statistical test. The results of the research from a total of 20 respondents showed that the baby's sleep quantity was good after baby massage and previously the baby's sleep quantity was insufficient (80%), while the baby's sleep quantity was good after baby massage and previously the baby's sleep quantity was sufficient (20%). The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test statistical test at a significance level of α = 0.05 showed statistical test results with a significance value of p = 0.000 < 0.05, which means that H0 was rejected, meaning there was a difference in the quantity of baby sleep between before and after baby massage. at Posyandu anggrek Pojok Village, Kediri City in 2023. Based on the results of this research, it is hoped that the respondent's family will carry out baby massage because the benefits of baby massage are very good for optimizing growth and development in babies.

Abstract

Malnutrition, notably stunting, significantly impacts children's health and development, particularly during the first 1000 days of life. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is notably high, affecting approximately 30% of children under five in 2019, with Kediri Regency reporting a prevalence rate of 10.23% in 2022. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of parental knowledge and skills in improving nutritional status as well as children's responses to feeding on the nutritional status of children with malnutrition problems. The research design used in this research is a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique was total sampling with respondents in this study being 22 underprivileged families with toddlers who had nutritional problems and stunting in the Gempolan Village area. The problem of malnutrition in toddlers is quite high with an average Z Score of -2.42 (BB/U), -2.46 (TB/U), and -1.53 (BB/TB). Pre-test data on parents' knowledge and ability to fulfill children's nutrition shows that 68% have fairly good knowledge and skills and only 9% have good knowledge and skills. In this study, 50% of respondents had a fairly good response to feeding. The data highlights a significant problem of malnutrition in toddlers, characterized by low Z-Scores indicating undernutrition and growth stunting. These low Z-Scores pose substantial health risks, including compromised growth, weakened immunity, and potential long-term health issues. Parental knowledge and skills in nutrition are crucial, with most parents having reasonable knowledge levels. However, feeding problems persist, contributing to food rejection by children, exacerbating malnutrition.
