Abstract

Loneliness is a feeling that arises due to a lack of interpersonal relationships and is considered unsatisfactory. One way to divert loneliness is to use a cell phone. Excessive use of cell phones can cause Nomophobia. This study aimed to determine the relationship between loneliness and Nomophobia in migrant students in Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative approach with the product-moment correlation method. This research uses the loneliness scale, developed based on aspects of loneliness identified by Peplau and Perlman (1981), with a reliability coefficient of 0.962. Additionally, it employs the nomophobia scale, based on aspects of Nomophobia identified by Yildirim and Coreia (2014), which has a reliability coefficient of 0.923. This study's population was migrant students active at the Ar-Raniry State Islamic University and Syiah Kuala University. The sampling technique used in this research is quota sampling with a total sample of 200 respondents. The study found a correlation coefficient of r = 0.209 with p = 0.002, indicating a significant positive relationship between loneliness and Nomophobia among migrant students in Banda Aceh. This means that the higher the loneliness, the higher the Nomophobia experienced by migrant students in Banda Aceh. Vice versa, the lower the loneliness, the lower the Nomophobia experienced by migrant students in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Peralihan pada lingkungan baru dicerminkan oleh individu sebagai penderitaan akibat perpisahan dengan figur keterikatan dan lingkungan sosial yang menimbulkan perasaan stres dan depresi yang berujung pada kondisi yang disebut homesickness. Kondisi ini berkaitan dengan faktor internal locus of control. Individu yang memiliki kecenderungan internal locus of control akan mampu mengendalikan kehidupannya dengan lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara internal locus of control dengan homesickness pada santri baru Dayah Insan Quráni Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berbentuk skala dengan pengambilan sampel berdasarkan teknik sampling jenuh yaitu pengambilan sampel secara penuh karena populasi yang relatif kecil. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 150 santri dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara internal locus of control dengan homesickness pada santri baru Dayah Insan Quráni Kabupaten Aceh Besar dengan nilai uji korelasi Spearman’s r=-0.458, p=0.000, α<0.05. hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara internal locus of control dengan homesickness pada santri baru Dayah Insan Quráni Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Dengan demikian hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi internal locus of control maka semakin rendah homesickness, sebaliknya semakin rendah internal locus of control maka semakin tinggi homesickness.

Abstract

As students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), it is important to possess altruistic behavior. Those who choose to study in FKIP are individuals who aspire to become teachers. One of the main reasons people choose the teaching profession is their desire to help others, which reflects altruistic behavior. According to Stinnett (1968), the teaching profession is characterized as a vocation motivated by the need to help others rather than by financial gain. One of the factors influencing altruistic behavior is internal locus of control. This study aims to determine the relationship between internal locus of control and altruistic behavior among students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consisted of 6,706 students, with a sample of 332 students selected using the simple random sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were the Internal Locus of Control Scale and the Altruistic Behavior Scale. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation test. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between internal locus of control and altruistic behavior among FKIP students at Syiah Kuala University, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of r = 0.830 and a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the internal locus of control, the higher the level of altruistic behavior, and conversely, the lower the internal locus of control, the lower the altruistic behavior.

Abstract

The Cinderella Complex is a network of attitudes and fears, most of which are repressed, that prevent women from fully utilizing their intellectual abilities and creativity. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-concept and the tendency of the Cinderella Complex among female students living away from home in Banda Aceh. This research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The measurement instruments used were the Self-Concept Scale, developed by the researcher based on the aspects proposed by Calhoun and Acocella (1990), and the Cinderella Complex Scale, which was constructed based on the aspects suggested by Dowling (1995). The study involved 200 female students who were living independently in Banda Aceh. The sampling method used was non-probability sampling with the purposive sampling technique. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = -0.426 with a significance value (ρ) = 0.000, indicating a highly significant negative relationship between self-concept and the tendency of the Cinderella Complex. This means that the higher the level of self-concept, the lower the tendency toward the Cinderella Complex; conversely, the lower the self-concept, the higher the tendency toward the Cinderella Complex among female students living away from home in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

The quarter-life crisis is a period of turmoil in which individuals experience anxiety and restlessness as they begin to question their life goals, direction, achievements, and overall life satisfaction. Based on field observations, many final-year students experience this phenomenon, including students at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. This may occur because final-year students are in a transitional phase from the academic world to the professional world, leading them to begin questioning their future careers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between career maturity and quarter-life crisis among final-year students at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sampling technique used was quota sampling. The population in this study consisted of 4,913 final-year students, with a sample of 239 students. The instruments used were the Career Maturity Scale, developed based on the aspects proposed by Super (as cited in Saifuddin, 2018), and the Quarter-Life Crisis Scale, constructed based on the aspects proposed by Robbins and Wilner (2001). The hypothesis testing technique used was the Pearson Product-Moment correlation analysis, which produced a correlation coefficient of r = -0.544 with a significance value of p = 0.000. These results indicate a significant negative relationship between career maturity and quarter-life crisis, meaning that the higher the career maturity, the lower the quarter-life crisis experienced by final-year students at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Empathy is an individual’s reaction to the experiences observed in others, while interpersonal communication effectiveness refers to the ability to achieve mutually satisfying communication goals between two individuals. This study aims to examine the relationship between empathy and the effectiveness of interpersonal communication among students at MTsN 1 Banda Aceh. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. Sampling was conducted using the purposive sampling technique. The study population consisted of 405 students, with a sample of 193 students. Data collected were analyzed using the Product Moment correlation test with SPSS version 22.0. The results indicate a significant relationship between empathy and interpersonal communication effectiveness among MTsN 1 Banda Aceh students, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.728 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), and r² = 0.530. This finding shows that there is a significant relationship between empathy and interpersonal communication effectiveness, meaning that the higher the level of empathy, the higher the effectiveness of interpersonal communication, and conversely, the lower the empathy, the lower the communication effectiveness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penerimaan diri pada pasien skizofrenia dengan memberikan intervensi konseling client centered. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, tes psikologi berupa WAIS, Grafis, SSCT, dan TAT, WHODAS, serta studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitan merupakan seorang pria berusia 23 tahun yang mengalami gangguan skizofrenia. Subjek telah dua kali mendapatkan perawatan rawat inap di RSJ Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat. Konseling client centered dilakukan sebanyak enam sesi yang berfokus dalam meningkatkan penerimaan diri subjek dengan mengaktualisasikan potensi yang dimilikinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perubahan secara positif yang ditunjukkan dengan mampu memahami kelebihan dan kekurangan diri, memiliki pandangan positif mengenai diri, dan terbuka pada keluarga terkait kondisinya.

Abstract

Learning motivation refers to the overall driving force within students that initiates, sustains, and directs learning activities, ensuring the continuity of the learning process and guiding it toward achieving desired goals. According to Sadirman (2013), learning motivation plays an important role in determining the rise and fall of academic performance. This study aims to examine the relationship between students’ learning motivation and lecturers’ sense of humor among students at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. The instruments used in this study were the Lecturers’ Sense of Humor Scale, developed based on the theory of Thorson and Powell (1997), and the Learning Motivation Scale, developed based on the theory of Santrock (2004). The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method, and sampling was conducted using the stratified random sampling technique. The total sample consisted of 348 students. The results showed a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.259 with a significance value (p) = 0.000, indicating a significant positive relationship between students’ learning motivation and lecturers’ sense of humor at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. This means that the higher the lecturers’ sense of humor, the higher the students’ learning motivation, and conversely, the lower the lecturers’ sense of humor, the lower the students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

Hardiness among Dental Health students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh plays an important role in coping with academic stress. When students possess low levels of hardiness in dealing with stress during their academic journey, their ability to manage academic stress decreases, which can have a significant impact on their future. Academic stress refers to an individual's perception of academic stressors and how they respond to them. Hardiness is a set of attitudes and coping skills that help individuals transform potentially threatening situations into opportunities for personal growth by finding meaning behind the circumstances around them. Through this process, individuals can maintain optimal performance even under pressure while preserving their well-being. This study aims to determine the relationship between hardiness and academic stress among Dental Health students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The measurement instruments used were Maddi’s Hardiness Scale and Gadzella’s Academic Stress Scale. The study population consisted of 221 students, with a sample of 135 students selected using probability sampling with the stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman correlation test. The results indicated a significant negative relationship between hardiness and academic stress, meaning that the higher the level of hardiness, the lower the level of academic stress, and conversely, the lower the hardiness, the higher the academic stress.

Abstract

Pengguna media sosial “Facebook” memiliki cara tersendiri dalam mengungkapkan diri mereka. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pengungkapan diri adalah tipe kepribadian extrovert dan introvert. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara self-disclosure pada remaja pengguna media sosial “Facebook” berdasarkan tipe kepribadian extrovert dan introvert di Gampong Cot Batee Kabupaten Bireuen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini tidak diketahui secara pasti, dengan jumlah sampel 178 remaja yang aktif menggunakan “Facebook”. pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan dua skala, yaitu skala self-disclosure dari teori Hargie dan skala tipe kepribadian extrovert dan introvert dari teori Eysenck. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai t = - 9,209 dengan p = 0,000 dimana nilai self-disclosure remaja extrovert (M = 9,209; SD = 7,95) dan nilai self-disclosure remaja introvert (M =80; SD =5,34). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima yaitu terdapat perbedaan antara self- disclosure dengan tipe kepribadian extrovert dan introvert. Self-discosure pada remaja dengan tipe kepribadian extrovert lebih tinggi dibandingkan remaja dengan tipe kepribadian introvert.
