Madania: Jurnal Kajian Keislaman is a peer-reviewed international journal focusing on Islamic studies. Conceptual Articles: Papers offering theoretical perspectives, models, or philosophical analyses relevant to Islamic studies, engaging with contemporary theories and frameworks. All submissions to Madania undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure high standards of quality and academic integrity. Abstract

The transformation of IAIN (State Institute for Islamic Studies) into UIN (State Islamic University) cannot be isolated from discourses on identity, concepts, aspirations of the standard of Islamic education and its goal to incorporate the principle of integration of science. However, since the transformation of these institutions, the integration of science practice still appears at the normative-philosophical level and is not yet in the empirical-implementation domain. The aim of this study is, therefore, to reveal and explain the implementation of the integration of the science concept at the technical-operational level, which focuses on the curriculum design and learning process at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The results of the study showed that these two universities have similarities in the concept of the integration of science and have almost the same objectives, i.e., decreasing the dichotomy of science between religious and general science. However,  UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has a more organized and structured approach to the idea of integration, from theory and framework to the practice of curriculum design and the learning process. Perubahan status kelembagaan dari Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) menjadi Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) tidak bisa dilepaskan dari  diskursus tentang identitas, gagasan, ekspektasi terhadap mutu lembaga pendidikan Islam dan sekaligus mengemban misi tentang pentingnya integrasi keilmuan. Namun demikian, sejak perubahan status kelembagaan ini, integrasi keilmuan yang dikembangkan di UIN ini nampaknya masih berada pada tataran normatif-filosofis dan belum menyentuh wilayah yang lebih empirik-implementatif. Oleh karenanya, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menjelaskan implementasi integrasi keilmuan ke dalam tataran yang lebih teknis operasional, yang dalam penelitian ini difokuskan pada pengembangan kurikulum dan proses pembelajaran di UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta dan UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara substantif, kedua perguruan tinggi Islam memiliki kemiripan konsep integrasi keilmuan dan memiliki tujuan yang hampir sama, yakni menghilangkan dikotomi keilmuan, antara ilmu agama dan ilmu umum. Namun, jika dibandingkan antara UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta dan UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, maka UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang dinilai lebih terencana dan sistematis dalam merumuskan konsep integrasi keilmuannya, dari mulai perumusan konsep dan paradigma sampai pada operasionalisasi penyusunan kurikulum dan proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

In Islamic politics(fiqh al-siyâsah), one of the material studies is a power. In brief, the Islamic politics includes constitutional law,administrative law, international law, and economic law. In view of the relation, on the other hand, it discusseson the relationship of people and the leader as a concrete ruler in a country, inter-nation, or in their national andinternational economic policy. In Islamic politics, there are many theories formulated by some moslem scholarsthat become guide in a practice. Besides, this Islamic jurisprudence theory, as its real advantage, will gather theproblems that have same reason. This theory also will make easy to social life in political activities. This article isaimed at describing 12 Islamic legal norms which relevantly should be applied now and in the future.

Abstract

This article seeks to demonstrate the applicability of Paul Feyerabend's "anything goes" epistemology to the development of knowledge. This study is a literature review. Data were collected through data inventory, then analyzed and interpreted. The results of the study show that "all methodologies have limitations, and the only 'rule' that can survive is 'anything goes'". The main idea of anything goes is, first, the recommendation proposed by Feyerabend related to the discourse of anything goes, only remains as a negative freeing recommendation because it requires a certain scientific situation that is considered to restrict scientists; and is often understood simply as advocating the absence of laws, methodologies, and rules in science. Second, it actually limits the movement of scientists because it requires participation only in practices that are undefined and cannot be defined. Third, it is only a consequence of the first and second premises. In other words, anything goes, both externally and internally, contains two dimensions of freedom at once. The differences in position must be clarified to avoid confusion about the status of freedom contained in anything goes. Artikel ini ingin menunjukkan anyting goes Paul Fayerabend relevansinya dalam pengembangan pengatahuan. Penelitian ini merupakan studi pustaka. Data dikumpulkan melalui inventarisasi data, kemudian dianalisis dan diinterpretasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan “seluruh metodologi memiliki keterbatasan-keterbatasan dan satu-satunya ‘aturan’ yang dapat bertahan ialah ‘anything goes’. Gagasan utama anything goes Pertama, Rekomendasi yang digagas oleh Fayerabend berkaitan dengan wacana  anything goes, hanya tinggal sebagai rekomendasi yang membebaskan secara negatif  karena mensyaratkan situasi keilmuan tertentu yang dianggap mengekang ilmuwan; dan seringkali dipahami sekedar mengampanyekan ketiadaan hukum, metodologi maupun aturan dalam ilmu. Kedua, justru membatasi gerak ilmuwan karena mensyaratkan partisipasi hanya dalam praktik yang tak ditentukan dan tidak dapat ditentukan.Ketiga, hanya menjadi konsekuensi dari premis pertama dan kedua, Dengan kata lain anything goes, secara eksternal dan internal, mengandung dua dimensi kebebasan sekaligus. Perbedaan posisi tersebut harus dipertegas agar tidak menimbulkan kerancuan mengenai status kebebasan yang dikandung oleh anything goes.

Abstract

This article aims to compare quantum learning, a new effective approach to education in the Western world, with the philosophy of Islamic education. There were three foci of the literature studied—the human aspect as both the subject and the object of the education, the learning environment, and the learning methodology. This paper is a study of relevant literature of quantum learning and the philosophy of Islamic education. The result of the comparison shows that conceptually the views of quantum learning as it pertains to human beings as both the subject and the object of the education, the learning environment, and learning methods have many similarities with the spirit of Islamic education. In could be viewed that philosophically, quantum learning has a strong foundation in Islamic eduation. Quantum learning is the concrete form of Islamic education, as developed by the Western perspective of education.

Abstract

The legality and validity of sharia banks still somehow lead to some problems, including a negative view of the use of murâbahah contract at the level of practice in the field. Is it true that the application of the sale and purchase agreement of sharia banks, in this case the contract of murâbahah, salam and istisnâ’, is essentially a sale and purchase process? This is a critical question in this research. This is a critical question in this research. Such a miserable view not only emerged in the country, but also voiced in several other Muslim countries. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis of qualitative / inductive data. Data sources are the results of interviews with Sharia Commercial Banks (BUS) BNI, Sharia Business Units (UUS) Permata Syariah and Sharia People's Credit Banks (BPRS) Al-Salam. This research shows that sharia banks which are still dominant in using murâbahah contracts are not appropriate. Judging from the aspect of sharia maqâsid, the position of shariah banks is basically outwardly not acting as a provider of goods. Sharia banks do not have a stock of goods as a meaning of the use of contracts based on exchange or sale and purchase transactions. In fact, the position and position of a sharia bank is essentially only as an institution mediating financial service providers and not sellers. However, from the perspective of jurisprudence the practice of murâbahah in Sharia Financial Institutions (LKS)  has fulfilled the pillars and conditions, but in the absence of stock of goods, the sale and purchase transactions of sharia banks seem still as al-makhârij al-shar'î (sharia solutions). Legalitas dan keabsahan bank syariah masih menyisakan masalah. Termasuk pandangan negative tentang penggunaan akad murâbahah pada tataran praktek di lapangan. Benarkah bahwa aplikasi akad jual beli bank syariah, dalam hal ini akad murâbahah, salam dan istisnâ’, secara hakiki telah terjadi jual beli?.  Inilah pertanyaan kritis dalam penelitian ini. Pandangan miris ini tidak hanya muncul di tanah air, tapi juga disuarakan di beberapa negara muslim lainnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode content analisis terhadap data-data yang bersifat kualitatif/induktif. Sumber data adalah hasil wawancara kepada Badan Usaha Syariah (BUS) BNI, Unit Usaha Syariah (UUS) Permata Syariah,  dan Bank Perkreditan Rakyat Syariah (BPRS) Al-Salam. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bank syariah yang saat ini masih dominan menggunakan akad murâbahah adalah kurang pas. Dikaji dari aspek maqâsid syariah, posisi bank syariah pada dasarnya secara lahiriyah tidak bertindak sebagai  penyedia barang. Bank syariah tidak memiliki stock barang sebagai pemaknaan terhadap penggunaan akad-akad yang berbasis pada transaksi tukar-menukar atau jual beli. Sebenarnya, kedudukan dan posisi bank syariah hakekatnya adalah hanya sebagai institusi mediator penyedia jasa keuangan dan bukan penjual. Namun, dari sudut fikih praktek murâbahah di Lembaga Keuangan Syariah (LKS) sudah memenuhi rukun dan syarat, tapi dengan tidak adanya stock barang, maka transaksi jual beli bank syariah terkesan masih sebagai al-makhârij al-shar'î  (solusi syariah).

Abstract

Reinterpretation of Islamic Penal Punishment: A Study on Prof. K.H. Ibrahim Hosen, LML’s thought.Islamic penal punishment that is related to the qishas and hudûd is often considered as violating of human rightsand intimidation so that there are many rejections in its application. This is reinforced by the opinion of mostMoslem scholars who consider the implementation of Islamic penal provision through textual understanding asa symbol of the implementation of Islamic law as a whole. In this context, Ibrahim Hosen as the expert of Ushulal-Fiqh (Islamic Legal Theory) and comparative Islamic legal (Fiqh al-Muqâran) in Indonesia tried to neutralize therigid understanding by using the types of crime and the reinterpretation of punishment through understandingof the texts contextually by using ijtihad istislahi (independent reasoning of public interest) and refers to thepurpose of its application that prefers to the function of zawajir than the other. Abstract

In order to apply what has been learnt in a contemporary situation, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) serve as a metaphor for transferring knowledge and skills. Curriculum 2013 places emphasis on these diverse higher order thinking processes. This study intended to examine what challenges students at Islamic High School in Bengkulu had while using HOTS to answer questions about reading and what caused them to still make mistakes in this situation. The research was descriptive in nature. Techniques of data collection subsumed observation, interviews, and documentation. The results demonstrated that the students still struggled with word misinterpretation at the analysis stage. They had a hard time understanding the information in the provided text during the evaluating stage, and they also struggled to analyze the questions’ intentions. The students had a hard time coming up with concepts for new items during the creation stage. The second discovery demonstrated that the elements such as time, students’ mastery, students’ learning abilities, and the learning environment should all be taken into account. This study concluded that some of these issues, including obstacles, may be to blame for students' poor aptitude for solving HOTS-based problems. This study contributes to providing English academicians with the demographic picture of students’ challenges and factors related to HOTS. Untuk menerapkan apa yang telah dipelajari dalam situasi kontemporer, keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi berfungsi sebagai metafora untuk mentransfer pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Kurikulum 2013 menekankan pada beragam proses berpikir tingkat tinggi ini. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengkaji tantangan apa yang dimiliki siswa Madrasah Aliyah Bengkulu saat menggunakan HOTS untuk menjawab pertanyaan tentang membaca dan apa yang menyebabkan mereka masih melakukan kesalahan dalam situasi tersebut. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data kualitatif meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek masih berkutat dengan kesalahan interpretasi kata pada tahap analisis. Individu kesulitan memahami informasi dalam teks yang disediakan selama tahap evaluasi, dan mereka juga berjuang untuk menganalisis maksud pertanyaan. Ketiga subjek mengalami kesulitan untuk menghasilkan konsep item baru selama tahap pembuatan. Penemuan kedua adalah bahwa unsur-unsur seperti waktu, penguasaan siswa, kemampuan belajar siswa, dan lingkungan belajar semuanya harus diperhitungkan. Peneliti dapat menarik kesimpulan bahwa beberapa masalah ini, termasuk hambatan, mungkin menjadi penyebab rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah berbasis HOTS. Penelitian ini memeberikan akademisi Bahasa Inggris tentang gambaran demografi terkait tantangan dan faktor HOTS siswa.

Abstract

 The Maintenance of the Unique Teaching of the Yellow Book At Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Martapura South Kalimantan (Review Linguistic and Sociolingustic Aspects). Pesantren as an Islamic educational institution has various characteristics. One of them is the uniqueness in teaching of yellow book, as applied in Pondok Pesantren Darussalam (PPD) Martapura. To achieve the purpose of pesantren tafaqquh fî ad-dîn, the yellow book must be mastered by santri. To master the yellow book, the element and the knowledge of yellow book are considered as the main tool. The emphasis on these two aspects also has an impact on the application of characteristic translations. The translation seems unique, rigid, and clumsy so that it is potentially difficult to understand and can even lead to misunderstandings. However, the specificity of teaching is instead maintained and can be accepted in the pesantren. This paper is intended to express how and why the specificity of yellow book teaching can survive and be maintained in PPD Martapura in terms of linguistic and sociolinguistic aspects.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of rehabilitation using an Islamic religious approach in Indonesia and Uzbekistan, and to analyze the implementation of rehabilitation in Indonesia in the future. The approach used in this research is normative juridical or library legal research or legal doctrine research, namely legal research by examining library materials and secondary materials. Rehabilitation, which also applies to narcotics users, is a right that narcotics users have and is not an obligation. Islamic based rehab in Uzbekistan focuses on physical and spiritual recovery through a strong religious approach. Indonesia, as a country with a majority Muslim population, can adopt several aspects of the Islamic faith-based rehabilitation approach in Uzbekistan to overcome the drug problem. Adopting an Islamic-based rehabilitation approach from Uzbekistan in Indonesia can be an effective strategy, especially by strengthening spiritual aspects as part of the recovery process for drug addicts. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan rehabilitasi dengan pendekatan agama Islam di Indonesia dan Uzbekistan, untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan rehabilitasi di Indonesia pada masa yang akan datang. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah yuridis normatif atau penelitian hukum kepustakaan atau penelitian hukum doktrinal, yaitu penelitian hukum dengan cara meneliti bahan pustaka dan bahan sekunder. Rehabilitasi yang juga berlaku terhadap pengguna narkotika merupakan hak yang dimiliki oleh si pengguna narkotika dan bukan merupakan sebuah kewajiban. Rehabilitasi berbasis Islam di Uzbekistan berfokus pada pemulihan fisik dan spiritual melalui pendekatan agama yang kuat. Indonesia, sebagai negara dengan mayoritas penduduk Muslim, dapat mengadopsi beberapa aspek dari pendekatan rehabilitasi berbasis agama Islam di Uzbekistan untuk mengatasi masalah penyalahgunaan narkoba. Mengadopsi pendekatan rehabilitasi berbasis agama Islam dari Uzbekistan di Indonesia dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif, terutama dengan memperkuat aspek spiritual sebagai bagian dari proses pemulihan pecandu narkoba.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the paradigm and scientific philosophy of State Islamic University of Imam Bonjol Padang that has just been transformed from State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) into State Islamic University (UIN). Hence, a qualitative method is used to gather data by using documentation and interview. In addition, a focus group discussion was employed to get valid information. The result of the study indicates that the  State Islamic University of Imam Bonjol adopts an interaction-dialogue paradigm. This offers every discipline to collaborate and produce integrated sciences by positioning Islam, cultures, and science as the sources of knowledge equally. Then, these three sources act together as the basis of knowledge to create benefits for humanity.
