Abstract

This research aims to improve students' ability to understand the material of faith to the last day through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Trienggadeng for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The background of this research is the low understanding of students on the material of faith to the last day, which is shown from the pre-cycle average score of 60, below the Minimum Completeness Criterion (KKM) which is 70. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects amounted to 20 students, consisting of 12 women and 8 men. Data collection techniques include learning outcome tests, observation of teacher and student activities, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively by comparing results between cycles. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student understanding. In the first cycle, the completion percentage reached 70% with 15 students completing it. In the second cycle, the percentage of completeness increased to 85% with 17 students complete. The activities of students and teachers also showed an increase from the good category to excellent. Thus, the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model has proven to be effective in increasing students' understanding of the material of faith to the last day at SMP Negeri 3 Trienggadeng.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Ulee Tutue on the subject of Asmaul Husna through the application of the Discovery Learning method. The research employed classroom action research (CAR) implemented in two cycles. Based on the results, it was concluded that the use of the Discovery Learning method significantly enhanced students’ learning outcomes. The average score increased from 64.5 in the pre-cycle, to 68 in Cycle I, and reached 78 in Cycle II. Similarly, the completeness of student learning improved from 35% in the pre-cycle, to 55% in Cycle I, and finally to 85% in Cycle II. In addition, the method also increased teacher activity in guiding students and summarizing lesson materials. Student activity also improved, as they were more attentive during the learning process, actively asked and answered questions, and engaged more in classroom interactions. These findings indicate that Discovery Learning is effective in enhancing both learning outcomes and classroom engagement in the subject of Asmaul Husna.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the modeling the way strategy in enhancing the activity and competence of Grade III students at SDN Labuy in performing obligatory prayers during the 2023/2024 academic year. The research was conducted using a classroom action research approach over two cycles. Data were collected through observation, tests, and performance assessments focusing on four aspects: reading the pillars of prayer, reading the conditions of valid prayer, recognizing actions that invalidate prayer, and practicing the prayer movements. The results indicate a significant improvement in all observed aspects from Cycle I to Cycle II. The average scores increased for reading the pillars of prayer (1.1; 21.8%), reading the conditions of valid prayer (0.7; 14.8%), recognizing invalidating actions (0.7; 15.7%), and practical prayer performance (0.9; 18.3%), moving from the “good” category to the “very good” category. Additionally, the number of students achieving mastery increased from 7 students (30%) initially to 23 students (100%) by the end of Cycle II. These findings demonstrate that the modeling the way strategy is effective in improving both the learning activity and practical competence of students in performing obligatory prayers.

Abstract

This study aims to produce relevant and effective Indonesian local wisdom-based learning videos for elementary school students. The learning videos were designed based on observations, interviews with teachers, and needs analysis from a fourth-grade student questionnaire. This study used the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). In the define stage, students' need for interactive and contextual media was identified. In the design stage, learning videos were designed using the Canva application to present engaging and relevant material. The develop stage involved validation by media experts, material experts, and linguists, followed by revisions to refine the product. In addition, the video's practicality was assessed by the class teacher to ensure its suitability for learning. The results showed that this learning video had a very high level of feasibility, with an average score from media experts of 93.3%, material experts 88.3%, and linguists 80%. The practicality test by the fourth-grade teacher showed a score of 99%. The overall average from the validator and practicality test was 90.15%, which is categorized as "Very Feasible".
