Abstract

AbstractBased on BkkbN (2013) data, adolescents aged 10-19 years old that had done sexual activity before merried 46,18%. According to researcher there were some factors that effected by sexual behavior to the adolescene, there were parenting pattern and peer group conformityThe purpose of research was to know the effect of parenting pattern and peer group conformity on adolescents’s sexual behavior in Bangun Rejo village. The type of this research was analitic survey by using cross sectional method. The population of the research were all aged 13-19 years old and lived together with their parents. The sampling of the research were 114 teenagers that had taken by using purposive sampling technique, with criteria they were adolescents that ever angaged.The results of research by using regression logistic test that shown that there were any significant effect sexual behavior in adolescents in Bangun Rejo village, they were authoritarian mothers (p=0,0001), mothers permissive (p=0,0001) and peer group conformity (p=0,041). Probability prediction with predictor 1 (bad), that was adolescents with authoritarian mothers or permissive and getting strong peer group conformity possibility to had been sexual behavior as much as 99,8%. While with predictor 0 (good), with authoritative mothers and getting weak peer group possibility sexual behavior as much as 12,26%.The parents was askadolescents to discuss living activities, guide, supervise and directing of the adolescents in choosing the good friends. Explained to adolescents about the risk of the dating beyond. For adolescents give priority to learning, establish a good relationship with parents and having a fixed estabilishment in order to avoid from the behavior of peer group that can lead to negative things as well as follow the positive activities.Key words : Sexual Behavior, Parenting Patterns, Peer Group Conformity

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nutritional needs of primary school children was obtained from the main meal and snack food. Good food intake will affect the nutritional status of children, related to the immune system, the level of attendance, concentration and the ability to follow the lessons in the school so that the impact on learning achievement. This study aims to determine the pattern of snack consumption, nutritional status and student achievement in SDN 064 027 District of Medan Polonia. This study used a cross sectional design. The population is all fifth grade students aged 10-12 years SDN 064 027 District of Medan Polonia. Samples were taken as many as 103 students of class V aged 10-12 years with a total sampling technique. Primary data was collected by interviews using questionnaires, 24-hour food recall forms, food frequency form, measurement of weight and height. Secondary data were collected from the description of the school, attendance, report grades students. The results showed that the types of snacks consumed in a week with a daily frequency is soft drinks/bottled, frequency is often soft drinks/bottled and fried, frequency is a rare savory rice and fried rice, frequency is never guava. Energy consumption in the snack food category is not enough as big as 59.2%, protein snack food consumption in enough categories at 63.1%. Snack food in male respondents accounted for 19.0% energy and 13.5% protein from total consumption a day, the female respondents accounted for 17.9% of energy and 14.1% protein from the total consumption a day. Nutritional status by indicator IMT/U and TB/U is in normal category respectively 75.5% and 71.8%. Learning achievement in enough categories was 42.7%. It is recommended to the school in order to convey to the parents to pay attention to major food consumption in terms of quantity and diversity as well as choosing calorie-dense snack foods. The school is also expected to pay attention and control the types of snacks sold in the school in order to ensure safety, cleanliness, diversity. Abstract

ABSTRACT Smoking habits in the family can affect the quantity and quality of food consumed by the family. Dangers of cigarette smoke can reduce appetite, food expenditure, nutritional status families, and cause disease. This study is a descriptive survey with the aim to reveal the pattern of food consumption with Desirable Dietary Pattern (DDP) approach  in smoking households in Berastagi District. The population in this study is the entire family that has one or more family members who smoke and have toddlers or pregnant women in Berastagi District that is 2410 families. The sample is a portion of the population which selected by using the cluster method, that is 100 families. Primary data collection use Food List and Food Frequency form. The results show that mostly smokers families  do not consume appropriate food in accordance with the food classification in Desirable Dietary Pattern (DDP). Low energy consumption of smokers families can see from 100 families only 34,0% consume adequate energy (≥AKERK), whereas for 66,0% is inadequate (<AKERK). And for protein, it’s only 78,0% consume adequate protein (≥ AKRPK), whereas for 28,0% is inadequate (<AKRPK). Food frequency of family smokers dominated by grain food groups while others rarely consumed. Average DDP scores of smokers families for Berastagi District is low, that is 61,15. Only 3,0% of 100 families is categorized high named golden triangle  (≥87). Based on this research, it is expected to have good cooperation in cross sectors to provide nutrition counseling, health, and the dangers of smoking for people to increase consumption of nutritious and balanced food. Abstract

ABSTRACT Primary student is an investment the nation because children that age are the future generation. Nutrition becomes important for primary student because it can support the growth physically. Consumption of food and milk of children 6-12 years old can help the nutritional optimally to support the child's growth in height. The objective of this study was to know the relationship between food and milk consumption with body height of children 6-12 years old in SDN 173538 Balige (consist of 60 children as samples). Design of study was cross sectional study. The study was conducted by calculating the adequacy of energy, protein, and calcium from food and milk consumption of children using 24 hour food recall method. Child’s body height was measured by microtoise instrument. The result of study showed that in general, child's body height by age is 81.7% in normal category, 16,7% in short category, and 1,7% in stunting category. There was a significant relationship between the adequacy protein of food, the adequacy protein and calcium of milk with body height. While there was no relationship the adequacy energy and calcium of food and the adequacy energy of milk with body height. The school suggested to cooperate with Balige Health Center provide education to primary student about daily nutrition and benefits of drink milk for height growth. Parents should also pay more attention to children’s food consumption in terms of quantity. Keywords: Food consumption, milk consumption, body height, primary student

Abstract

Drug addicts are generally prone to nutritional problems. Nutritional problems experienced by drug addicts due to a decrease in appetite during the period when the influence of drugs and drug withdrawal. Low food intake and takes place in a relatively long period of time will cause a drug addict nutrient deficiency resulted in a decrease in nutritional status. This study aims to determine the pattern of food consumption and nutritional status of drug addicts in Panti Sosial Pamardi Putra Insyaf. This study used a cross sectional design. The study population are drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation in PSPP Insyaf. Samples taken as many as 71 people with purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through interviews using questionnaires, forms of food records, a food frequency form and the form of food history. Drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation in PSPP Insyaf mostly aged 16-19 (57.7%) and undergo the most rehab for 5 months (38%). Frequency of drug addicts eat 3x / day with white rice consumed every day. For side dishes consumed 1-5x / week. Consumption of vegetables 1-5x / week. Unlike the long beans were consumed ≤2x / month. Fruits like banana, papaya, watermelon and cucumber consumed with 1-5x frequency / week. Energy consumption drug addicts mostly in the medium category (54.5%). Consumption of protein drug addicts mostly in the category of either 94.4%). Nutritional status of drug addicts in the vast majority is in the normal category (83.1%). Based on these results it is suggested to head the kitchen PSPP Insyaf more unwelcome attention of food or foods that cause allergies that are not often included in the diet or by replacing it with other foods. The energy consumption should be increased in order to meet the needs of drug addicts should be. There needs to be a nutritionist to set up the necessary nutritional needs of drug addicts. Abstract

Having consumption in vegetarian pattern is defined taking consumption pattern of meal and food resources of vegetable only. Accordingly, a kid having less protein energy is going to get retardation in growth, susceptible on illness, noted mainly resulted in poorly condition in intelligence. The objective of this study is to determine the differences of the consumption pattern, nutrition status and study performance of kids with vegetarian and non vegetarian at Yayasan Perguruan Buddhis Bodhicitta-Institute of Medan for 2014. This study adopted a descriptive survey method with cross sectional approach. The research dealt with the condition differenced in consumption pattern, nutrition status and performance in study of those kids with vegetarian and non-vegetarian, provided them questionnaire involved 86 respondents that took them all in simple randomly. The result of study indicated that those kids in vegetarian in totally 52 kids (60.4%) and non-vegetarian of total 34 kids (39.6%). The distribution of age as respondent mostly noted in 11 years old about 37 kids (43.0%), the education rate of parent of respondent noted mostly having graduated SMA namely 30 kids (34.9%), their profession as parent of kid noted in private noted 50 people (58.1%), their consumption rate in energy noted in category of moderate namely about 32 kids (37.2%), consumption rate in protein noted of category moderate about 31 kids ((36.0%). TB/U of respondent mostly noted is category in normal of 48 kids (55.85), IMT of respondent mostly noted is category in normal of 23 kids (26.7%). Their performance as respondent mostly noted in category of less some 50 kids (58.1%). It is suggestible to those parent of kid in their daily life got consumption pattern of vegetarian could taken their food for meal in vegetarian with highly protein, calcium, and contained sufficiently zinc so that the nutrition required for growth should be fulfilled and the kids got as required.   Keywords : consumption pattern, nutrition status, study performance, vegetarian.

Abstract

The high rates of malnutrition and over nutrition in primary school students require serious handling. Giving information about various nutritional balanced and secure foods is to increase knowledge and attitude of students to choose the various nutritional balanced and secure foods in their everyday menus. The research’s purpose was to find out the influence of counceling on knowledge and attitude of students in Titi Berdikari Primary School of Medan Labuhan in 2014. The study was quasi experiment with one group pretest and posttest design. There were 80 students of population and 67 students of sample. Treatment was counseling in lecture method and gaming with flash cards. Measurements were taken twice, before and after getting counseling. Result was analyzed by paired t-test with confidence interval 95%. Result showed that the students’ knowledge increased from bad category (67,2%) to adequate category (94,0%). The students’ attitude increased from adequate category (70,2%) to good category (76,1%). The test results showed there were different score of knowledge and attitude after the counseling (p=0,000). The conclusion is the counseling with flash card has an influence on improving students’ knowledge and attitude about various nutritional balanced and secure foods, it is proved by the improvements of students’ knowledge and attitude about it. The suggestion is given to the local health department to pay more attention about nutrition counseling in school; and to the nutrition department in public health center and school to use the attractive-designed flash cards as a media for learning. Abstract

Pregnant women is one of the vulnerable groups in nutritional problems because pregnancyterm need a large number of nutrients. Natural disaster can affect the household food availablesuch as the eruption of Sinabung which is cause the destruction of agricultural that give impact inthe collapse of population economy. This is affect the nutritional status of pregnant women whennatural disaster occurs to leave the refugee. The purpose of this research is to find out thehousehold food available, the number of energy and protein adequacy and the nutritional status ofpregnant women post Sinabung’s eruption. This is a descriptive research with cross sectionaldesign. The 33 samples of this research are the whole population in 2nd and 3rd trimester range.This research takes the household food availabel, the number of energy and protein adequacy, andnutritional status data were analyzed by univariate to get the frequency distributions. The researchshows that most of the nutritional status of pregnant women based on Upper Arm Circle did nothave a high risk in Energy Chronic Malnutrition (<23,5 cm) is about 90,9%. Pregnant women foodavailable shows 54,5% in non adequate category and the adequacy of protein in pregnant womenshows 66,7% in non adequate category. The household food available shows only 45,5%household in a good level of food available, and the rest shows the households food available areinsecure because the economy of people is unstable yet caused of agriculture is not giving the cropsyet. It is required for the increase of pregnant women awareness in health nutritional needed whichis increased in the term of pregnancy and the centred effort from government to make sure the foodavailable in population in case of natural disaster ( eruption) which is affect the collapse ofagricultural and economical.Keywords: food available, energy and protein adequacy, nutritional status, post evacuation

Abstract

Hepatitis B is a problem of global public health.WHO,2011 said that HBV had infected more than 350 thousand people in the world and there were 600.000 people had died caused by Hepatitis B acute or cronic. To determine the characteristics of Hepatitis B patients in hospital grade II Putri Hijau Kesdam I/Bukit Barisan Medan 2010-2013, conducted a research with case series design. Population and sample were 108 patients and recorded in hospital medical records. Univariate data were analyzed descriptively while bivariate data were analyzed using Chi-square test, t-test and Anova with 95% CI. Proportion based  on sosiodemographics were groups of age 20-24 years 14,8%,male 78,7%, Islam 85,2%, self employed 34,3%,married 64,8% and living in Medan 83,3%. Level of Bilirubin is not normal 78,7%, type Acute Hepatitis B 78,7%, level of SGOT is high 44,5%, level of SGPT is high 57,4%, average of treatment duration is 10,49 days and returned with outpatient 77,8%. There was no significant difference between sex and level of SGOT (p=0,416), There was no significant different between sex and level of SGPT (p=0,051). There was significant difference between type of Hepatitis B and level of Bilirubin (p=0,019). There was no significant difference between average of treatment duration and condition of returned (p=0,000). They can not be tested using by Chi-square test, age and type of Hepatitis B,age and level of SGOT,age and level of SGPT,also type of Hepatitis B and condition of outpatient. It’s hoped the hospital grade II Putri Hijau Kesdam I/ Bukit Barisan Medan to give advice for Hepatitis B patients acute and chronic to check up serologic and liver function regularly, to complete list of card statue about education, and it’s hoped the next researcher will research about one of  characterictics or some risk factors are more specific. Abstract

ABSTRACT Parenting parents has significant impact on the life of children in the future. One of the growth inhibitory effect of parenting which is not oriented to the development of childern. It usually occurs in under five years old. The objective of the study was to describe the parenting and nutritional status of five under years old in smokers families in Berastagi District in 2014. This research was a descriptive cross-sectional design. Data was collected by inter views and questionnaires to 100 respondents with five  under year old in the region of sub-district healath centers Berastagi in March-June 2014. The results showed that the majority of mother who have five under year old in smoker families were with good parenting category, which consisted of 64% feeding practices, hygiene practices and environmental sanitation 64%, and the care of children and families in sickness 67%. The results of measurements of weight/height according to the WHO 2005 standards were in the category off at 1%, 3% risk of fat, 73% normal, 17% lean, and very skinny 6%. The results of measurements of nutritional knowledge a were in either category that was equal to71%, and the knowledge of smoking were in the good category at 68%. Counseling  is required on food, nutrition and health to mothers who have  five under years old in smoker families so that knowledge, parenting and a good level of consumption can be further improved and will ultimately improve the nutritional status of children.
